BACKGROUND
[0002] Background description includes information that may be useful in
understanding the present invention. It is not an admission that any of the
information provided herein is prior art or relevant to the presently claimed
invention, or that any publication specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.
[0003] Televisions (TV) are becoming thinner, TV have changed from a
desk or floor mount to a flat panel display. Flat panel displays, such as Televisions
and monitors, provide the benefit of allowing efficient use of small spaces. The
demand for such flat panel displays is increasing nowadays and expected to be
continuing in the future. A flat panel LCD may often be referred to as a wall
mount TV and may be attached to a wall surface. Nowadays many wall mounts
are available in the market which secures the flat panel display to the wall surface,
and enables a user to adjust the viewing angle accordingly.
[0004] Flat panel displays require a set top box which output video to the
flat panel display, connection cables can be used to connect the flat panel display with the set top box to provide streaming video to the display, while connecting the set top box must be in the proximity of the flat panel display otherwise the connection cables will not reach the flat panel display. Existing wall mount only support displays, separate support is required to support the set top box near the flat panel display. Therefore, separate stands are required which takes additional space, and if the set top box is placed too far from the flat panel display, connection cables may stretch across a room. Such a setup is visually unappealing and a dangling cable can be a danger since someone could trip over it. In addition to connection cables, a set-top box or similar device requires its own power cables to be connected to an electrical power outlet. A set-top box nearer to the LCD
display will help group all the power cables and minimize the number of separate
outlets used to power the entertainment system.
[0005] At the time of installing the flat panel display, a wall mount and a
separate stand for the set top box is required, which requires additional cost. Also
when the flat panel display is relocated the wall mount and the stand both required
be removing from the wall and attaching to new wall, which drop many holes on
the wall. Therefore, a device is required which can attach the flat panel display
and the set top box both together on the wall.
[0006] There is a need to overcome above-mentioned problems of prior art
by providing a device that is cost effective, and provide support to the wall panel
display and the additional accessories.
