This is more reliable for heavy duty application than the prior art
available. In the present invention, Front Axle having additional features
of Adjustable axle & stoppers to adjust the turning radius of the vehicle.
BACKGROUND AMD PRIOR ART
As it is known, for several years the vast majority of four-wheel vehicles
of ail types have used a steering system designed in 1816 by a German
named Ackcrmann. "The design allows the inner wheel to angle more
sharply than the outer wheel in a turn, thus all four wheels have
approximately the same pivot point on a line extending out from the
center line of the rear axle."
Following design parameters are required to be considered before design
related to the actual field requirement & performance of the vehicle:
1. Caster: Helps to prevent wander.
2. Camber: Gives greater stability on uneven surfaces.
8. Toe-in: Tendency of cambered wheels to turn outward with large
turning cones turning around their apexes.
4. King Pin Inclination: Helps to reduce shocks.
Front wheels are generally the steered wheels for tractors & other

The front axle comprising of U-section, ends of which are connected by
means of a plate. This leads to low load carrying capacity, which can only
be used for agricultural purpose.
Now, reference may be made to fig. 1 indicating location of failure at the
center point and also at spindle of the front axle assembly during fatigue
test. This failure leads to development of cracks.
Hence, the present invention has been proposed to address the aforesaid
drawbacks. If is applicable for heavy duty applications.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
The main object of the invention is to provide a novel steering system
with adjustable axle assembly front for agriculture and construction
equipment's tractors to provide robust look, to increase traction force 85
load bearing capacity.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH REFERENCE TO
THE ACCQx^PANYING DRAWINGS
The present invention discloses a novel steering system with adjustable
axle assembly front, for agriculture and construction equipment's
tractors.
Now, reference may be made to fig. 2-4, in which an adjustable axle
assembly front axle (1) is connected with block front center (3) on one
side and block rear center (as shown in fig. 4) on other side by means of
a pin front axle (2).
The block rear center (4) is provided diametrically opposite to the block
Further, a support assembly front axle (4) as shown in figure 5 is
provided in connection with said block front axle (3) on one side and said
block rear axle (as shown in fig. 4) on other side.
Now, referring to fig. 6, in which the center beam (C) is assembled with a
slider assembly (LII and RH) at both ends. Said center beam, Left hand
slider assembly and right hand slider assembly are indicated in fig. 7 and
8 respectively.

The center beam having a plurality of welded components i.e. Bend plate
center beam, Back place center beam, Center pin housing, Bush, Side
bend plate, Washer support, Front support CP housing, Bottom support
CP housing, Back support CP housing & Power steering mounting
bracket. Rear side cylinder mtg. plate (R) is welded with the Centre Beam
lor Cylinder mounting.
Slider Assembly LH/RH: comprising of a plurality of welded
components i.e. Bend plate coller, back plate coller, spindle housing &
colter. Both sliders weld with coller to control turning radius of the
vehicle.
This Front Axle is designed for two wheel drive tractors with balance type
power steering arrangement used for agriculture as well as construction
v^ \A L4 i O 111 \s i i I S ,
The cross section of the front axle is square or rectangular to increase its
load carrying capacity.
Further, the slider assembly (LH and RH) is provided with four holes (II)
Instead of two in prior art. So that, the axle assembly front can be easily
track adjusted in two settings i.e. 52 inches and 56 inches as per the
vehicle operation requirements.
The collar (5) of the slider assembly is connected with spindle by means
of a screw preferably grub screw (7) and a nut preferably lock nut,
wherein the spindle is assembled with stub axle assembly (8).
«| 2 DEC 2013
ORIGIN
While taking turn, the screw acts as stopper. This helps in reducing the
turning radius in both sides.
Again, a cylinder (9) is mounted on the front ax!e; which is connected
with link assembly (10) on each side. This link assembly is connected
with the outer end of spindle through an arm (11). The balance type
power steering system comprises Steering rods with one end connected
with piston and other end connected to steering. Other end of steering
arm is connected to kingpins which along with wheel & hub assembly
arc fitted on front axle and are free to rotate along the longitudinal axis.
When operator turns the steering wheel, hydraulic oil supply guided by
the steering gear unit forces the movement of steering cylinder piston &
hence steering rods. This results in rotation of kingpins and wheel hub
assembly.
Further, there is provision of a swing stopper (12, fig. 2A)) on the front
axle assembly on both sides to prevent hitting of the support assembly
with the axle so as to avoid dent on the axle assembly.
CAE RESULTS: Axle Assembly Front is suitable in all three loading
boundary conditions (As shown in fig. 9). Fig. 9 indicates the following:
1. Contact define between central beam and extendable sliders.
2. Vertical downward Force ^=3500 kg
8. Frontal force 1000 kg on both sides.
/h Only vertical translation is fixed.
h. Only translation in vertical downward direction is free.
