Aesthete: A Software That Adjusts The Brightness And Magnification Of The Screen In Accordance With The Distance Of The User’s Face From The Screen

Abstract: Straining of eyes while working on computer is a common problem nowadays. While most devices allow manual setting of the brightness and magnification, most people forget to adjust the same according to their needs during long hours of work resulting in straining of eyes and consequent eye defects. Our software, based on Python programming language, aims to eliminate this problem by automatically adjusting the brightness and magnification of the screen in accordance to the distance of the user’s face from the screen.

Specification

Description:The software starts functioning by initially accessing the webcam of the particular device, and then assessing the distance of the face of the user from the screen, it adjusts the parameters automatically. If the distance of the user from the user becomes more than a certain range, say the medically recommended distance from the screen, then the screen will zoom in, and at the same time the brightness will increase gradually making a user-friendly ambience. On the other hand, if the distance is lesser than that particular range, then the screen will zoom out and the brightness level decreases too, thereby enhancing the working experience.
This is realized mainly using the Python cv2 module accessing functions of the PyAutoGUI module, which provides gesture recognition and automation of user interfaces. This provides the user a hassle-free working experience and at the same time has a check on the adverse effects of the radiofrequency waves emitted from the screen that may impose a threat to the sensitive tissues in the eye.
A best experience of this software can be realized when people use their computers or other computing devices in the dark or when there is low light around them. In these cases, people have to decrease brightness and turn on reading mode, night mode, and all these have to be done manually, which does take a lot of knowledge and might decrease efficiency of work. Our software, will eradicate all these disadvantages, by automatically adjusting all these parameters, and suiting it to the best of the user’s needs. This provides the user a hassle-free working experience and at the same time has a check on the adverse effects of the radiofrequency waves emitted from the screen that may impose a threat to the sensitive tissues in the eye. , Claims:We claim -
1. That, our software is one of its kind, unique in every possible aspect.
2. That, as in claim 1, the software takes care of eye strain.
3. That, as in claim 1, the software changes brightness and magnification in accordance with the distance of the face from the screen.
4. That, as in claim 1, it is a program based on Python and Python-based modules, hence easy to interpret and implement.
5. That, as in claim 1, it automatically detects the distance of the eyes from the screen.
6. That, as in claim 1, it automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen.
7. That, as in claim 1, it automatically adjusts the magnification of the screen.
8. That, as in claim 1, it is expected to prove beneficial in reducing eye strain.
