Specification

FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[001] The present invention, in general, relates to an air cleaner outlet hose in vehicles and, more particularly, to an air cleaner outlet hose with improved sealing at throttle body side
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[002] Background description includes information that may be useful in understanding the present invention. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art or relevant to the presently claimed invention, or that any publication specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.
[003] An air cleaner outlet hose in an IC engine is assembled in between an air cleaner and a throttle body. The cleaned air from the air cleaner assembly is supplied into an air intake manifold of the IC engine through the air cleaner outlet hose.
[004] A phenomenon of blow-by occurs in an IC engine when the explosion occurring in the IC engine's combustion chamber causes fuel, air and moisture to be forced past the rings into the crankcase. If the blow-by gases is left inside of the engine, the engine oil would become frothy and would lose its lubricating properties. Further, without a vent, the blow-by gases would attempt to escape around the pistons by seeping past the piston rings. This would cause a drastic loss in compression and power. The engine oil would also be allowed to escape around the piston rings, causing a lot of smoke, fouled spark plugs, and potentially burned pistons.
[005] Therefore, a breather hose is fitted from the cylinder head cover to an air cleaner outlet hose such that the blow-by gas is passes through

breather hose into engine. The breather in the IC engine functions as a vent pipe that allows to vent the blow-by gases out of the engine and release the built up pressure in the crankcase. By venting pressure out of the crankcase, an engine's piston rings are allowed to seal tighter against the cylinder walls. This provides better compression and promotes less oil consumption while making more horsepower.
[006] However, the blow-by gas is mixture of heated fuel, air and moisture and when it reaches into the air cleaner outlet hose, encounters with the air from at normal temperature. This leads to the blow-by gas reaching its saturation and condensation of the content of the blow-by gas. Therefore, increasing pressure in the air cleaner outlet hose, may lead to leakages of moist, oil and particles at a connecting portion of the air cleaner outlet hose between the air cleaner outlet hose and a throttle body in an IC engine, while the air intake enters the throttle body.
[007] In existing arts, a sealing is provided between the air cleaner outlet hose and a throttle body to reduce such leakage. However, the sealing provided between the air cleaner outlet hose and the throttle body still suffer from leakages.
[008] The clamping force on the rubber hose may lead to the deformation of hose in some time.
[009] Therefore, there exists need of an air cleaner outlet hose with integrated sealing that efficiently prevents such leakages.
OBJECTIVES OF THE INVENTION
[0010] It is therefore the object of the invention to overcome the aforementioned and other drawbacks existing in prior systems.

[0011] An object of the present invention is to provide air cleaner outlet hose that overcomes the problem of the prior art.
[0012] Another object of the present invention is to provide an air cleaner outlet hose to prevent oil leakage at a connecting portion of the air cleaner outlet hose between the air cleaner outlet hose and a throttle body in an IC engine to prevent oil leakage.
[0013] Another object of the present invention is to provide improved integrated sealing on air cleaner outlet hose to prevent oil leakage at a connecting portion of the air cleaner outlet hose between the air cleaner outlet hose and a throttle body.
[0014] Another object of the present invention is to counter the vibration in at joining area of air cleaner outlet hose and the throttle body due to the loose connection between air cleaner outlet hose and the throttle body.
[0015] Another object of the present invention is to provide an air cleaner outlet hose with integrated sealing with a plurality of angular projections that can receive more clamping force on the air cleaner outlet hose to avoid deformation of the same with time.
[0016] These and other objects and advantages of the present invention will be apparent to those skilled in the art after a consideration of the following detailed description.

[0032] As used in the description herein and throughout the claims that follow, the meaning of "a," "an," and "the" includes plural reference unless the context clearly dictates otherwise. Also, as used in the description herein, the meaning of "in" includes "in" and "on" unless the context clearly dictates otherwise.
[0033] The terms "comprises", "comprising", or any other variations thereof used in the disclosure, are intended to cover a non-exclusive inclusion, such that a device, system, assembly that comprises a list of components does not include only those components but may include other components not expressly listed or inherent to the system, or assembly, or device. In other words, one or more elements in a system or device proceeded by "comprises... a" does not, without more constraints, preclude the existence of other elements or additional elements in the system, apparatus or device.
[0034] Hereinafter an air cleaner outlet hose (100) to prevent oil leakage will be explained in detail.

[0035] Referring to figure 1, which illustrates an assembly of an air cleaner outlet hose 100 with a breather hose 200 and a throttle body 300 in an IC engine according to an embodiment of the present invention. Blow-by gases from a cylinder head of the IC engine vents out via the breather hose 200. The breather hose 200 supplies blow-by gases to the air cleaner outlet hose 100. Further, air intake occurs from an air cleaner outlet hose 100 into the throttle body 300.
[0036] An integrated sealing [shown in figure-2] is provided between the air cleaner outlet hose 100 and a throttle body 300 to prevent any leakage of oil or liquid particle, etc., at the connecting region 'LI'. In an example of the present invention, integrating the sealing 102 on an inner wall of the connecting region 'LI' of the air cleaner outlet hose 100 aids in cost cutting in production as well as increases functional life of the sealing 102 with the air cleaner outlet hose 100. However, the sealing and the air cleaner outlet hose can be manufactured separately also to assemble the sealing on an inner wall of the connecting region of the air cleaner outlet hose at later stage.
[0037] Referring to figure 2, which illustrates the air cleaner outlet hose 100 comprising an integrated sealing 102 to connect the air cleaner outlet hose and the throttle body 300, according to an embodiment of the present invention.
[0038] Box-lOOa of figure-2 illustrates the inner wall of the air cleaner outlet hose 100 at the connecting portion 'LI'. The inner wall of the connecting portion 'LI' comprises an integrated sealing 102 around axis BB [shown by dotted line].

[0039] Box-lOOb of figure-2 illustrates an enlarged view of a portion of the inner wall of the connecting portion 'LI' as shown in Box-lOOa. The integrated sealing at the inner wall of the connecting portion (LI) comprises a plurality of angular projections 102 in an upward direction. Each of the plurality of angular projections 102 comprising a horizontal surface 1 with an inward end and an outward end, and a tilted surface 2 comprising a first end and a second end.
[0040] The first end of the tilted surface 2 conjoins the horizontal surface 1 at the outward end, and the tilted surface 2 extends underneath the horizontal surface 1 at an acute angle. The plurality of angular projections 102 lies side by side along a vertical direction on the inner wall of the connecting portion 'LI'. The integrated sealing covers the connecting portion LI comprising the fitting region 'L2' and at least an additional region 'L3' at each of an end of the fitting region 'L2'. [0041] The improved structure of integrated sealing efficiently prevents any leakage at the connecting portion where the air cleaner outlet hose 100 connects with the throttle body 300 to supply inlet air into the IC engine.
[0042] In an aspect, the present integrated sealing structure is made of rubber material.
[0043] The present structure of the air cleaner outlet hose counters the vibration in at joining area of air cleaner outlet hose and the throttle body due to the loose connection between air cleaner outlet hose and the throttle body. The integrated sealing with the plurality of angular projections act as a vibration dumping layer.
[0044] The present structure of the air cleaner outlet hose with integrated sealing with the plurality of angular projections define a compressible

region to receive more clamping force on the air cleaner outlet hose to avoid deformation of the outer surface of the air cleaner outlet hose with time.
