FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[001] Embodiments of the present invention, generally relate to air cooling, and in particular relate to an evaporative air cooler with multi side cooling pad.
BACKGROUND
[002] Human beings are known for their ability to adapt their environment according to their needs or they themselves adapt to the environment. This is main strength that has enabled continued expansion of human populations into areas previously deemed inhospitable to human life like deserts and humidity prone areas of tropics. In order to make such areas hospitable, most structures designed for human occupation are provided with systems that can provide cooling the inside air in the structure.
[003] One technique for cooling the air is evaporative air cooling that has been employed for many years by peoples of many countries to obtain relief from difficult and warm environments. In India, for example, it is still common to cool homes, small shops by this technique of splashing water outside entrance of homes or upon a loosely woven straw mat which is hung in the doorway. As breeze blows through the mat, a cooling effect is obtained from the evaporation of the water. However, one major problem with this manual evaporative air cooling approach is that it requires necessity of having to continually replenish the water upon the mat.
[004] Hence, one conventional method of cooling the air inside a home/office is the evaporative cooler. Evaporative coolers also use principle of evaporative air cooling. The cooler includes a water pump, cooling pads, and a fan to provide cool air. While the conventional evaporative air coolers provide some relief from warm weather and humidity, they have certain limitations. For example, in very humid climates, conventional evaporative coolers have proved to be ineffective for cooling occupied

structures at even relatively low ambient air temperatures due to the high amount of water vapor in the air. Once the air is saturated with water vapor, no additional cooling can take place by the conventional coolers. Furthermore, as the outside air temperature increases, the evaporation process cannot sufficiently lower the temperature of the air in a structure to provide an acceptable temperature for human occupation.
[005] Therefore, there is a need for an improved air cooler that can solve above mentioned challenges associated with conventional coolers and is capable of providing an efficient evaporative cooling process.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0012] As used throughout this application, the word "may" is used in a permissive sense (i.e., meaning having the potential to), rather than the mandatory sense (i.e., meaning must). Similarly, the words “include”, “including”, and “includes” mean including but not limited to.
[0013] The phrases “at least one”, “one or more”, and “and/or” are open-ended expressions that are both conjunctive and disjunctive in operation. For example, each of the expressions “at least one of A, B and C”, “at least one of A, B, or C”, “one or

more of A, B, and C”, “one or more of A, B, or C” and “A, B, and/or C” means A alone, B alone, C alone, A and B together, A and C together, B and C together, or A, B and C together.
[0014] The term “a” or “an” entity refers to one or more of that entity. As such, the terms “a” (or “an”), “one or more” and “at least one” can be used interchangeably herein. It is also to be noted that the terms “comprising”, “including”, and “having” can be used interchangeably.
[0015] The term “automatic” and variations thereof, as used herein, refers to any process or operation done without material human input when the process or operation is performed. However, a process or operation can be automatic, even though performance of the process or operation uses material or immaterial human input, if the input is received before performance of the process or operation. Human input is deemed to be material if such input influences how the process or operation will be performed. Human input that consents to the performance of the process or operation is not deemed to be “material”.
[0016] FIG. 1 illustrates a perspective view of an evaporative air cooler 10.In an embodiment, the evaporative air cooler 10 includes an evaporative air cooler body 11. In an embodiment, the air cooler body 11 may be made of plastic. In another embodiment, the air cooler body 11 may be made of any other suitable material.

In another embodiment, the evaporative pad 19 may have different pad also like honeycomb pad. The fibre pad may consist of paper and special adhesive with multiple layer of corrugated paper arranged in honeycomb manner. In yet another embodiment, the evaporative pad 19 may have different pad like white pad luffa sponge fibres pad.
[0020] Further, in an embodiment, the air cooler 10 includes a fan 20. The fan 20 may be either axial fan, centrifugal fan, or cross flow fans. The air cooler 10 further includes a motor 22 and a pump 23. The pump 23 is further coupled with a pump outlet 27 and a conduit 28, as shown in FIG. 2. In an embodiment, the fan 20, the motor 22, and the pump 23 are assembled in the air cooler body 11, as shown in FIG. 2.
[0021] The pump 23 and the motor 22 are configured to pump water through the pad assembly 18. Further, the fan 20 is coupled with the motor and is configured to provide cool air through the front panel 12.In an embodiment, the air cooler 10 also includes manual motor starter (mms) 21. In another embodiment, the air cooler 10 may not have any manual motor starter. Those skilled in art will appreciate that manual motor starter provides increased security of motor from sporadic power supply cuts.

[0022] Further, as shown in FIG. 2, the air cooler 10 includes water in the base tank 17 that is located at base of the cooler body 11. The air cooler 10 further includes a water distributing tray 24 that is located above the manual motor starter(mms) 21. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the water distributing tray24 include water receiving area 25, water flow channels 26, and partly curved peripheral edge (29).
[0023] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the motor 22 and the pump 23 are configured to circulate water from the water tank 17 through the pump outlet 27 into a conduit 28 that is connected to the water distributing tray 24 through an inlet nipple located on the underside of the water distributing tray 24 and approximately centrally of the receiving area 25.

Further, the water flow channels (26) are configured to provide water to the pads (19) in the pad assembly (18). Further, the evaporation of water in the pad assembly (18) is configured to cool the air coming through the front panel (12) of the air cooler body (11).
[0025] Further, as the water is received at approximately the centre of the water receiving area 25 of the water distributing tray 24, the water may flow equally into the water flow channels 26 that are positioned around the circumference of the water receiving area 25 through an angle of approximately 250 degree. Those skilled in the art will appreciate that such arrangement of the water receiving area 25 and the water flow channels 26 facilitates distribution of water on to the pad in a uniform manner, thereby increasing cooling efficiency of the air cooler 10.
[0026] Further, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, the air cooler 10 and the pad assembly18 are configured to operate on the principle of cooling the air by evaporation of water passing through one or more evaporator pads 19. Those

skilled in the art will appreciate that the evaporation of water may cool the air as it is drawn through the cooler by an internal fan or blower 20. The cooling fan/blower 20 may be provided in the interior of the cooler to blow cooled air over the surface of the water in the reservoir, before the water is passed through the multi sides’ evaporator pads, thereby increasing the cooling efficiency of the air cooler.
[0027] Further, as the water is pumped into pads of the evaporative cooler and the outside air may be drawn into the evaporative cooler by the fan/blower. In an embodiment, by drawing the outside air through the water-soaked cooling pads, heat is transferred from the air to the water, as water evaporation (i.e., heat of vaporization) occurs and the cooled air is blown from the front panel of the cooler.
[0028] The air cooler 10advantageously provides cooling pad, which substantially increase the cooling efficiency of the air coolerautomatically, since the water receiving area 25 and the water flow channels 26 are configured to facilitate distribution of water on to the pad in a uniform manner. The air cooler 10 advantageously provides enhanced performance in humid conditions of monsoons, and even in extremely high temperatures of summer.
[0029] Further, the air cooler 10 provides the front panel 12, the back panel 13, the first side panel 14, the second side panel 15, the top panel 16, and the base tank 17, as detachable components of the air cooler 10.Thus the air cooler 10 is easier to package and transport, as it can be stored in compact housing space.
