Abstract: An electron gun that is designed to be reduced in its length and to improve a focusing level is provided. The electron gun includes a plurality of cathodes emitting electrons, and a control electrode, a screen electrode, a focusing electrode, and an acceleration electrode that are sequentially arranged starting from the cathodes. The control electrode is provided with three apertures each having a horizontal width and a vertical width that is greater than the horizontal width. The focusing electrode is provided at an end facing the acceleration electrode with a first rim portion located at a first height from an electron beam outgoing surface of the focusing electrode toward the acceleration electrode. The acceleration electrode is provided at an end facing the focusing electrode with a second rim portion located at a second height from an electron beam incoming surface of the acceleration electrode toward the focusing electrode..........
