An Adjustable Ring

Abstract: An adjustable finger ring comprising a ring head(l) having knot holes on the top, a first shank (2)having shank collars (6a)as support at one end and a split portion (6b)at the other end , a second shank (5) having shank collars (7a)as support at one end and a split portion (7b) at the other end, the split portions complementing and overlapping each other in operative condition of the ring ,a spring (4) fitted inside the two supports with the holes of steel spring aligned with the holes of the support of the first shank so as to allow a riveting pin (3) to pass through, the inside surfaces of shank-2 collars fitted on both outside faces of Shank-1 collars with their holes aligned so as to allow a riveting pin to pass through, to make an assembly so that the two shanks are hinged together and act as a spring clasp, if one tries to widen the ring size then they will slide on split shank overlap(6b slides over 7b) and get widened, it results in increased size of the ring , if one reduce this pressure the spring will force them to come closer and regain the original position (as shown in Fig.-2 ).

Title: AN ADJUSTABLE RING APPLICANTS NAME: UNI-DESIGN JEWELLERY PVT. LTD.
ADDRESS:
Plot No. 5, SEEPZ,
Andheri (East), Mumbai - 400 096,
Maharashtra, India
An Indian Company incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956
The following specification describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION:
This invention relates to the field of Jewellery manufacturing, particularly to a finger ring and more particularly to an adjustable finger ring and the manufacturing of the same.
BACKGROUND:
It is a common observation that due to change in blood pressure there is tendency of fingers to swell and the ring requires adjustment accordingly to provide comfort.
A ring could not be presented to any one without knowing his/her exact size. Accordingly exchanges or further modification is necessitated.
OBJECT OF THE IVENTION:
The main object of the invention is to obviate the drawbacks in the prior art. The instant invention provides the following benefits:
a) Ring automatically adjusts itself on different sizes of finger.
b) Due to change in blood pressure there is tendency of fingers to swell, the ring adjusts accordingly to provide comfort.
c) The ring could be presented to any one without modification e.g. from grandmother to
mother and granddaughter and so on.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
An adjustable finger ring comprising a ring head(l) having knot holes on the top, a first shank (2)having shank collars (6a)as support at one end and a split portion (6b)at the other end , a second shank (5) having shank collars (7a)as support at one end and a split portion (7b) at the other end, the split portions complementing and overlapping each other in operative condition of the ring ,a spring (4) fitted inside the two supports with the holes of steel spring aligned with the holes of the support of the first shank so as to allow a riveting pin (3) to pass through, the inside surfaces of shank-2 collars fitted on both outside faces of Shank-1 collars with their holes aligned so as to allow a riveting pin to pass through, to make an assembly so that the two shanks are hinged together and act as a spring clasp, if one tries to widen the ring size then they will slide on split shank overlap(6b slides over 7b) and get widened, it results in increased size of the ring, if one reduce this pressure the spring will force them to come closer and regain the original position (as shown in Fig.-2 ).
The method of making an adjustable finger ring comprising the following steps:
First take Shank- l(Part-2) then fit Steel coil spring (Part-4) inside the two supports to make an
assembly,
while assembling, please align the hole of steel coil spring and holes of the supports so that a
Riveting Pin can pass through the holes;
Now put Shank-2 collars on the first assembly so that both the inside surface of shank-2 collars get fit on both outside face of Shank-1 collars;
Make sure to align the holes for insertion of the pin (only align the holes do not insert the riveting PIN) and this will complete the stage two of the assembly;
Now put Ring head on the top of this assembly as shown in the Fig.-4,
After aligninig the knot holes (ref. Fig-6),.this will complete the stage 3 of the assembly,
Now insert the steel coil spring through the entire assembly and solder both ends of the pin on
the knot holes,
Both ends of the steel coil spring is fixed at the bottom wall of the head.
