Specification

FIELD OF INVENTION
This invention relates to an air compression system for construction
equipment.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In agricultural Tractors, Crank shaft is used as the 'main power source
which directly or indirectly drives all the units e.g. Cam shaft, Water
pump, Hydraulic pump, Fuel Injection pump, Radiator Fan etc. Crank
pulley is a part of crank shaft used as driving unit for fan, water pump
and alternator, connected with V-belt.
Currently, Crank pulley is only used for driving radiator fan, water pump
and alternator. In CE (Construction Equipment) applications, air
compressor is required for operating many devices like rammer, crusher
etc. Nowadays, tractors are used as loader-dozer & back-hoe in
construction equipment applications. Hence, a provision is to be made
for an arrangement driven by crank pulley to compress air, which can be
used in many ways.
A positive displacement compression system is required to be provided
which can prevent any kind of pressure drop in the system during
various operations using compressed air.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
The primary object of the present invention is to provide a compression
system for use in construction equipment which uses crank pulley for its
operation by converting its rotary motion to reciprocating motion.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a compression
system for use in construction equipment which is simple in
construction.
Further object of the present invention is to provide a compression
system for use in construction equipment which is efficient.
STATEMEHT OF INVENTION
According to this invention, there is provided an air compression system
for construction equipment comprising of a crank pulley for driving the
system by means of piston and connecting rod arrangement which
converts rotary motion of crank pulley to reciprocating motion and
compresses air with the help of a piston.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWING
Further objects and advantages of this invention will be more apparent
from the ensuing description when read in conjunction with the .
accompanying drawing and wherein:
Figure 1 shows: arrangement for crank pulley driven compressor
according to the present invention.
DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH REFERENCE TO
THE DRAWING
The present invention discloses an air compression system in front of
tractor as shown in figure 1. The system comprising of a crank pulley for
driving the system by means of piston and connecting rod arrangement
which
converts rotary motion of crank pulley to reciprocating motion and
compresses air with the help of a piston.
Thus, an arrangement is provided by mounting the big end of connecting
rod on the crank pulley with the help of a Pin to provide reciprocating
motion for the compressor arrangement. Compressor arrangement
comprises of:
1. Cylinder
2. Piston
3. Connecting Rod
4. One way Valves for Inlet & Outlet ports,
When piston moves from BDC to TDC of the cylinder, it sucks air inside
the cylinder. In this condition, the inlet valve allows the air to come
inside and outlet valve remains closed. When Piston moves TDC to BDC,
it compresses the air inside the cylinder. When the required amount of
pressure is achieved, outlet valve opens and allows the compressed air to
pass thru the outlet port and to the reservoir which can be used for
various applications.
Advantageous features of the present invention
1. Crank pulley driven compressor provides live compression
system for construction equipment applications.
2. Compression system can be provided without using separate
prime over unit.
3. The positive displacement compression system does not allow
pressure drop during operation.
4. It is cost effective.
It is to be noted that the present invention is susceptible to
modifications, adaptations and changes by those skilled in the art.
Such variant embodiments employing the concepts and features of
this invention are intended to be within the scope of. the present
invention, which is further set forth under the following claims:-

WE CLAIM
1. An air compression system for construction equipment comprising
of a crank pulley for driving the system by means of piston and
connecting rod arrangement which converts rotary motion of crank
pulley to reciprocating motion and compresses air with the help of
a piston.
2. An air compression system as claimed in claim 1, wherein the big
end of said connecting rod is mounted on the crank pulley to
provide reciprocating motion for the compressor arrangement.
3. An air compression system as claimed in claim 1 or 2, wherein
said compressor arrangement comprises of Cylinder, Piston,
Connecting Rod and one way Valves for Inlet 86 Outlet ports such
as herein described.
4. An air compression system as claimed in any of the preceeding
claims, wherein the system is associated with several
advantageous features such as herein described.
5. An air compression system for construction equipment
substantially as herein described with reference to the
accompanying drawings.
