Specification

FIELD OF THE INVENTION:
This Invention relates to an air-conditioned bus-queue shelter with sensored glass.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
India is a country which has hot summers and is mainly warm throughout the year except for about 2 to 3 months of winter. Commuting In public transport Is a gruelling experience and added to It Is the harrasment of waiting for long hours at bus stands. Also, often there is no water supply in sight or seating facilities and this makes it all the more difficult for waiting passengers particularly for the elderly, children, ailing and handicapped.
Therefore, the need exists to provide a bus shelter which can provide confortable conditions to the commuter by way of protection from heat and rain and providing basic facilities.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION:
It is therefore an object of this invention to provide a bus shelter which provides comfort to the commuters in any weather condition.
It is a further object of this invention to provide a bus shelter, which provides for basic facilities such as drinking water, seating arrangement, emergency telephone service and is handicapped-enabled.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:
According to this invention is provided an air-conditioned queue shelter, with sensored glass.
In accordance with this invention is provided a bus queue shelter comprising a housing with automatic sliding doors with sensors. The sliding doors are on both sides of the housing to keep the shelter closed. The sliding doors also convert the shelter Into a covered walkway which will solve the problem of pedestrian Inconvenience as anyone can cross through the bus queue shelter and keep walking on the footpath, The sliding doors are made of a transparent material such as glass which improve the visibility of the waiting commuters.
The bus queue shelter is provided with an air conditioning unit which controls the temperature of the unit, which will be moderately cold to make the halting area confortable for the commuters. A seating arrangement by way of wooden plank seats is provided in the housing. The bus queue shelter is also provided with an electronic display for increased visibility of the shelter during the night. This also displays the routes and destinations of the buses plying along the particular route.
A special feature of the bus queue shelter is that it is handicapped-enabled and has sliding doors and ramps to allow movement of wheel chairs and parking facilities for the wheel chair inside the housing. The bus queue shelter is provided with a water cooling unit for dispensing drinking water and a free telephone facility for emergency services like police, fire brigade and ambulance.
The roof top collects water which is used to recharge the ground water by boring a bore-well upto the water level of the area. This rainwater harvesting and recharging ensures that the subterranean water Is maintained uniformly. The arched shape of the roof also serves an important purpose, i.e. to reflect the sun's rays and dissipate heat in the outward direction. The Invention well now be explained In greater details with the help of the accompanying drawings where Fig. 1 shows a front view of the bus-queue shelter. Fig. 2 shows a rear-view of the bus-queue shelter. Fig. 3 shows a side view of the bus queue shelter.
The bus queue, shelter (1) according to the Invention Is provided with a housing
(2) having four walls, a front wall (3), a back wall (4) and two side walls (5&6).
Automatic sliding doors are present on both the side walls 5 & 6 and the sliding
doors (7) are provided with sensors which enable the doors to open as soon as
the sensors sense the presence of a person before it.
The bus queue shelter is provided with wooden plank seals (8) for sealing the
waiting passengers. An electronic display (9) is provided which may be disposed
on the front (3) or back wall (4) and gives Information regarding the timings of the
buses along the particular route. The air-conditioning machines (10) are
preferably housed near the upper edges of the back wall.
The bus-queue shelter Is optionally provided with a standard water-cooling
equipment for providing cool drinking water to the waiting passengers.
The arched shape of the roof (II) is an important feature as it radiates heat,
adding to the cooling effect of the air-conditioning system.
The bus queue also has ramps (12) so that wheel chairs can easily get in and out
of the housing.

We Claim:
