DESC:AN AIR PURIFYING CEILING FAN
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[001] The present subject matter described herein, relates to the technical field of ceiling fan. The present subject matter, in particularly, relates to an air purifying ceiling fan to improve air quality of a room. The air purifying ceiling fan creates a unique air circulation pattern to enhance the air quality index of the room.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[002] Background description includes information that may be useful in understanding the present invention. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art or relevant to the presently claimed invention, or that any publication specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.
[003] Air is indispensable for life on earth and contains by volume ratio, about 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, 1.0% argon, and 0.04% carbonic gas. Also, it contains fine dust which naturally occurs. From past decade airborne pollutants continues to increase which leads to increased number of complaints of respiratory infections, burning eyes, allergies, asthma attacks and other symptoms which are directly related to air pollution. People are constantly inhaling particles of dust, smoke, pollen, molds, acids, bacteria, carbon and the like. Because of this situation, it has become necessary in many environments, such as in hospitals, laboratories, scientific research rooms and the like, to provide purifying equipment which will remove a majority of these air borne pollutants.
[004] Nowadays air purifier has gained a lot of fame in the world. Because of the technological advancement in this field they have gain popularity. But the technology is expensive which makes it out of reach of the common people. Also, the air circulation by air purifier is restricted to a small area as the filters used in the purifier slow the speed of the clean air. In order to efficiently clean air of a specific room, a ceiling fan is used in addition to the air purifier for better circulation of air.
[005] United States Patent application US20070009363A1 discloses a ceiling fan which comprises of one and or two air purification systems for filtering Particulates and or odour's from the air. Which a plurality of point of ionization sources are positioned in the proximity of the periphery of an air flow which channel's through the fan blades directional air flow of a ceiling fan. A motorized ceiling fan mounted close to the ceiling of a room which draws dust and odours in the air from an upward location into the air purification system, and is forced through several inlet's, and is discharged back into the ceiling fan through the blades primary air flow through one or more outlets. An auxiliary ceiling fan motor that has several fan blades is preferably suspended between one and or two air purification systems that produce downstream direction from the plurality of point an ionization source within the air purification system. The particulates collected on the surface of either one and or two air purification systems are electrostatic ally charged in an opposite direction with the respect's to the ground. The secondary purified air flow that is created from the ceiling fan air purification system is recirculated throughout the room to help provide cooling in the summer from the downdraft to create wind chill, as well as during the winter from the updraft to reclaim lost heat. The purified air flow that is created from the ceiling fan air purification system will help reduce smoke, dust, pollen, and other particulates, which will uniformly freshen the rooms air quality. To help stabilize the ceiling fan from wobbling due to the down rod a counter weight design can be used to add balance to three or more fan blades on rotation, to help neutralize the wobble within the centre of gravity of the ceiling fans motor housing.
[006] United States patent US5964910A disclose a combined air filter and diffuser for attachment beneath an air discharge duct discharging blown air into a room of a building. The air filter is configured to abut and be flushly mounted to the ceiling immediately below the duct. The filter has a housing including a track disposed to receive a flat air filter element so that the filter element lies horizontally proximate the ceiling. The housing has a slidably removable closure exposing the filter element for removal, which is accomplished by sliding the filter element horizontally from the housing. The housing includes a diffuser having pivotally mounted fins disposed immediately below the filter element. The housing mounts to the ceiling by receiving fasteners through small opening formed in an upper, horizontal wall of the housing.
[007] The air flow dynamics of both the ceiling fans are not capable of circulating the purified air in every corner of the room.
[008] Therefore, there is a need to develop an air purifier ceiling fan to improve air quality of a room, in a way, that can obviate the drawbacks mentioned above.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[009] The principal objective of the present subject matter is to develop an air purifying ceiling fan to improve air quality of a room.
[0010] Another object of the present subject matter is to develop an air purifying ceiling fan having a unique air circulation mechanism which enhance the quality of the air purification around the room.
[0011] Another object of the present subject matter is to develop an air purifying ceiling fan wherein ceiling fan and air purifier assembly works synergistically to circulate purified air in the room.
[0012] Another object of the present subject matter is to develop an air purifying ceiling fan which can facilitate servicing of filter without dismantling whole assembly.
[0013] Another object of the present subject matter is to develop an air purifying ceiling fan which uses venturi effect to maintain a smooth flow between ceiling fan and air purifier.
[0014] Yet another object of the present subject matter is to develop an air purifying ceiling fan which measures air quality index of the room and display the same by a visual indicator to apprise the user about the air quality.
[0015] Yet another object of the present subject matter is to develop an air purifying ceiling fan which can be controlled through a remote control or through any other handheld device.
