BACKGROUND
[0002] The subject matter discussed in the background section should not be assumed to be prior art merely as a result of its mention in the background section. Similarly, a problem mentioned in the background section or associated with the subject matter of the background section should not be assumed to have been previously recognized in the prior art. The subject matter in the background section merely represents different approaches, which in and of themselves may also correspond to implementations of the claimed technology.
[0003] Air pollution has been continuously increasing over the years and the world is not unknown to the type of damage air pollution causes to one's health. However, it is not commonly known that indoor air pollution also exists apart from outdoor pollution and has a more significant effect on one’s health. Recently, environmental protection agency studies indicate that indoor air pollution levels have the potential to be 2-5 times higher than outdoor air pollution levels. Some studies further indicate that, on certain occasions, indoor air pollution levels can be 100 times higher than the outdoor air pollution levels. The majority of indoor pollutants are contributing factors to frequent and unexplained headaches or sleepless nights that afflict numerous persons within the general population.
[0004] Air circulation and filtration have been a persistent problem for small interior rooms in both residential and commercial applications. Ceiling and window fans are well known and commonly used in both residential and commercial applications to circulate air within an interior room to maintain even room temperature. Window fans are only marginally effective at moving air laterally within an interior space but provide little vertical circulation. The vertical circulation is necessary to regulate the temperature throughout the room. Further, the ceiling fans provide adequate vertical circulation over window fans but have several drawbacks.
[0005] There are numerous prior arts that provide multiple air-cleaning devices to be used in home and offices for cleaning indoor air from common pollutants such as dust, smoke, pollen, bacteria, soot, mild spores, animal dander, and other microscopic irritants, and thereby creates a clean, healthy, fresh, and pleasant environment.
[0006] US5997619A, discloses a self-contained air purification system including a housing defining a germicidal chamber. Further, US5997619A uses ultraviolet germicidal irradiation lamps for filtering the air from the environment to provide a purified air. Additionally, the system also includes a platform with sidewalls and wheels for moving the system on the underlying surface, thus making the system movable on the floor. Even though the system is movable on the floor, the system uses precious space of the operating area and does not provide any other functionality other than air purification.
[0007] EP0214727B1, discloses a heap room air purifier having an air filter means and a motor driven fan to urge the environmental air through the filter means to obtain the purifier air. Further, EP0214727B1 discloses suspending the room air purifier from a ceiling in the event it is desired to move the units to provide an extra floor or counter space. Even though the room air purifier can be suspended from the ceiling but changing the filter of repairing of the air purifier requires removal of the air purifier from the ceiling. Further, the disclosed air purifier does not provide any other functionality other than air purification.
[0008] A wide variety of air filtration devices have been developed, but most are designed to filter particular contaminants, such as cigarette smoke in desktop applications, or chemical fumes in industrial clean room applications. While separate air filtrations devices may be employed in conjunction with the fans, circulation, and filtration functions have not been integrated into an inexpensive modular unit, which is convenient for use in a wide range of ceiling types. Therefore, there is a need for an improved air circulation and purification device that is cost effective and user friendly.
OBJECTIVES OF THE INVENTION
[0009] It is an objective of the invention to provide an air purifying device that can be easily mounted on a ceiling surface.
[0010] It is another objective of the invention to provide an air purifying device installed in a false ceiling.

[0013] It is yet another objective of the invention to provide an air purifying device that is cost effective, user friendly, and less complicated.
