DESC:FIELD OF INVENTION:
The present invention relates to an apparatus for cooling milk cans. An apparatus for cooling milk cans comprises of cooling coils and agitator. The present invention cooling apparatus is submerged in cooling tank 5 containing cooling liquid for cooling milk cans. The cooling tank contains cooling liquid in which milk cans are cooled by indirect cooling by reducing the temperature of the cooling liquid (water).
10
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION:
In the rural areas the fresh or cooled milk is generally transported to a common milk chilling center. This milk is either brought in cans if the 15 quantity is less. Pre cooled milk is generally brought in milk tankers as bulk milk coolers are not present in smaller capacities.
Pre cooled milk has its quality maintained with a minimal possibility of spoilage. It is not the same case with the manual transportation of fresh 20 milk with cans. Milk generally has to be cooled within ½ hour after milking to avoid the bacterial growth and maintaining its quality.
The main problem in case of fresh milk transportation with cans is the high possibility of deterioration of milk quality if the village is not 25 closer to the chilling center. In the actual scenario, there are number of villages which are about 30 kms or more from the chilling center.
Another reason for degradation of milk quality is the lack of proper roads for milk tankers to reach the villages. If the roads are not proper even if the village is nearby to the chilling center, it will take the farmer significant time to reach the center resulting in degrading milk quality. 5
In ruler areas, especially in smaller establishments, the milk is placed in separate churns which are then cooled and kept in cold storage until collected for transport. With availability of bulk tanker transport, however, it is now frequently more convenient to cool and store the milk 10 in bulk quantities, and suitable bulk milk cooling and cold storage apparatus is therefore required in which important design consideration include the provision of efficient and reliable cooling means and an ability to maintain high hygienic standards during use.
15
The main problem in this manual transportation of fresh milk is that if the Milk in containers are normally cooled in conventional refrigerators. There is, however, usually a considerable period of time which elapses between the time at which the container is placed into a refrigerator or cold room and the time at which its temperature is transported for 20 drinking. More rapid cooling can be achieved by using ice which is placed in contact with the bottle. However, ice is not readily available in many situations, and additionally, it cannot be contained easily without melting.
25
Assuring the safety of fluid milk, related dairy products and juices while maintaining quality and increasing the shelf life of products is a significant challenge for the food industry.
5
Although various methods and techniques have been known for some time to preserve the quality of milk over a longer time period no integral method has been developed which enables one to transport liquid milk over a greater distance.
10
The present invention solves the above problems and provides a method and apparatus to transport the milk to father areas.
