Abstract: ABSTRACT AN APPARATUS FOR DISINFECTING CURRENCY AND A METHOD THEREOF The present invention discloses a disinfectant apparatus for sanitizing of paper currency. Said currency sanitizing apparatus (1) comprising of an outer cover (10) and a main body (20), said main body (20) consists two compartments such as driving unit (21) and a tray (30). Said drive unit (21) compartment consists a driving motor (41), Infrared sensor (23), LED (24), switch (22) and a control unit (25). The tray (30) compartment consists plurality of rollers (51) and bushes (53). This apparatus uses a liquid sanitizer and helps to prevent the transmission of contagious disease and avoids use of harmful UV rays. FIG - 1
DESC:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to the field of sanitizing device. Particularly, the present invention relates to the field of sanitizing of commonly used object by public especially to prevent spread of contagious diseases. More particularly the present invention provides a disinfectant apparatus for sanitizing of paper currency.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Contagious diseases are the diseases which can easily spread among people and affects the structure or function of all or part of human beings. The transmission of contagious diseases can happen through various means such as air, contaminated water and common objects etc. In such case, paper currency is one of the common objects that is regularly used by people. Even though digital payment method is available nowadays, but still in many areas such as small business industries, shops and grocery stores etc., uses paper currency.
The paper currency is the most potential object of carrying contagious diseases. Therefore, increased risk of transmission of disease may happen during currency exchange through hands among unknown individuals. Due to such activity contamination at places such as banks, shops, grocery stores are more prone to spread of contagious diseases. The sanitization of paper currency is of utmost importance such that the deadly virus or bacteria causing contagious disease shall be eliminated during exchange. The sanitization of individual paper currency may not be possible at each time of exchange. A device is required which can sanitize the paper currency during exchange and keeping currency intact.
There are certain existing inventions proposing innovative solutions which may resolve the above said issues. The existing inventions proposed to resolve different aspects of the problems are mentioned below. For example, Patent application US2015335775 describes a sanitizing machine comprising a supporting structure which includes two compartments or chambers (A, B), wherein, when the machine is in stand-by, a first compartment (A) is open and is able to house at least one container or object to sanitize, while a second compartment (B) of the machine houses a sliding door, which hermetically and automatically closes the first compartment (A) when the machine is on. The method thereof provides for at least one type of sanitizing cycle, such as an ozone cycle, a sanitizing liquid cycle and a combined cycle. The invention provides a sanitizing machine but may not be suitable for sanitizing currency.
Patent application CN200942194 describes a disinfection mechanism for currency count machine, which comprises a currency count machine assembly, a liquid conveyance pump, a liquid storage tank and a liquid conveyance tube. A drug liquid roller is positioned in between the currency counting and twisting wheel and currency receiving wheel; the surface of the drug liquid roller is coated with a soaking layer that is connected to the liquid storage tank via a liquid conveyance tube; a hot pressing roller is positioned in between the drug liquid roller and the currency receiving wheel; a constant pressure sensor is positioned in the liquid storage tank. The model overcomes the shortcoming of existing currency count machine that no disinfection function is configured and only single function is enabled. With such a design, the currency count machine is able to disinfect the banknotes one by one during counting, thus realizing thorough elimination of bacteria and virus and reducing cross infection and the banknote cannot be moldy easily. The model, with the advantages of simple and feasible structure, convenient application and fast speed, can be widely adopted for the count and disinfection of banknote, receipts and other pieces. The invention provides a sanitizing mechanism for currency count machine but there is a risk of currency damage as a hot pressing roller is used. The invention is not feasible in shops not using currency count machine.
Indian Patent application 202011035026 describes system for sanitizing currency notes comprises, a container for storing ethanol, a conduit embedded with heating coils for allowing passage of ethanol, a housing comprising an inlet plate with rollers for moving notes, plurality of aerosol generators for generating aerosols for first step sanitization, a H2O2 generator for generating H2O2 for second step sanitization, and a UV lamp for thermal sanitization and enhancing H2O2 concentration. The method of sanitizing currency notes comprises steps of: switching on power supply unit for activating the UV lamp and delay timer, heating the ethanol followed by generating aerosols, inserting the notes within inlet plate, sanitizing notes from the aerosols and UV light to complete primary stage sanitization followed by collection, again inserting primary sanitized notes in inlet plate, generating H2O2, subjecting note(s) to H2O2 vapors to obtain final sanitized notes. The invention though provides a system for sanitizing currency but consists of complex working mechanism for sanitization.
There are no inventions proposed for sanitizing the currency. Moreover, there are no system available which sanitize paper currency without UV rays. Therefore, the present invention provides a paper currency sanitizing device without using UV rays and has a simple operating mechanism.
OBJECTIVE OF THE INVENTION
The principal objective of the present invention is to prevent the transmission of contagious agents from the paper currency by providing a sanitizing device.
Main objective of the present invention is to provide a disinfectant apparatus for sanitizing the paper currency.
Another objective of the present invention is to provide a driving and sanitizing arrangement for sanitizing the paper currency.
Yet another objective of the present invention is to provide a sensing means and a method to control the driving arrangement of the disinfectant apparatus.
Other objective and advantages of the present disclosure will be more apparent from the following description, which is not intended to limit the scope of the present disclosure.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The following presents a simplified summary of the invention in order to provide a basic understanding of some aspects of the invention. This summary is not an extensive overview of the present invention. It is not intended to identify the key/critical elements of the invention or to delineate the scope of the invention. Its sole purpose is to present some concept of the invention in a simplified form as a prelude to a more detailed description of the invention presented later.
According to the main aspect of the present invention, a sanitizer liquid based currency sanitizing apparatus is proposed. Said currency sanitizing apparatus comprising of an outer cover and a main body, said main body consists two compartments such as driving unit and a tray. Said drive unit compartment consists a driving motor, Infrared sensor, LED, switch and a control unit. The tray compartment consists plurality of rollers and bushes. Said Infrared sensor, LED and a cap is mounted on an outer cover and said cover consists of a slot at both sides. Said outer cover is enclosing the drive unit and tray. Said driving roller is coupled to the motor and the plurality of rollers are enclosed between side walls of the main body.
The apparatus is provided with a refill pipe and a cap and said cap is mounted on top of cover. The sanitizer liquid is filled through the refill pipe and stored in the tray and said liquid is transmitted to the driving rollers through the roller provided inside the tray. The rollers are covered with fabric material and facilitated to absorb the sanitizer liquid. The excess liquid absorbed by the currency shall be squeezed out.
According to another embodiment of the present invention, an Infrared sensor is provided in the apparatus to enable to drive automatically. Said infrared sensors are mounted in the outer cover. When a person shows the hand in front of the sensor, the driving mechanism will be initiated. Alternatively, the sensor shall be mounted inside the cover and near to the driving rollers. The Infrared sensors are mounted in the inner side of the slot on a plate and said plate is mounted on the side walls of tray compartment. When the currency is inserted in to the slot, the sensor activates the driving mechanism.
According to the method of working of the currency sanitizing apparatus, said apparatus comprising the following steps. When the currency is inserted in the slot, the Infrared sensor senses the presence of currency and sends a signal to the Control unit. Said control unit initiates the Driving Motor and rotates in a specific direction. After a predetermined time, the Control unit stops the motor and thereby the rotation of the rollers. The number of rotations of the rollers are determined based on the length of the currency notes. The sensor shall also be mounted in either side of the rollers and said rollers can be rotated in either Clockwise or anti clock wise direction based on the signal received from the sensors.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
The following description with reference to the accompanying drawings is provided to assist in a comprehensive understanding of exemplary embodiments of the invention as defined by the claims and their equivalents. It includes various specific details to assist in that understanding but these are to be regarded as merely exemplary. Accordingly, those of ordinary skill in the art will recognize that various changes and modifications of the embodiments described herein can be made without departing from the scope and sprit of the invention. In addition, descriptions of well-known functions and constructions are omitted for clarity and conciseness.
Figure 1 and 2 describe the isometric view of the currency sanitizing apparatus (1) according to main aspect of the present invention. Said currency sanitizing apparatus essentially comprising of an outer cover (10) and a main body (20). Said main body (10) consists of a drive unit (21) and a tray (30). A switch (22) is mounted on the side portion of said drive unit (21). An Infrared sensor (23) and LED (24) is mounted on the cover (10). Said outer cover (10) consists of a slot (11) with currency support at both sides. A cap (11) is provided in the upper portion of the outer cover (10) to fill the sanitizer liquid in the tray (30).
Figure 2 further describes the housing assembly of sanitizing apparatus (1) according to the present invention. As shown in figure 2, the drive unit (21) and tray (30) forms two compartments in the main body (20). Said drive unit (21) compartment houses a DC motor (41), Infrared sensor (23), LED (24), switch (22) and a CONTROL UNIT (25). The tray (30) compartment houses plurality of rollers (51a, 51b, 51c) mounted to side wall using plurality of bushes (53a, 53b, 53c, 53d, 53e, 53f). The sanitizing liquid shall be stored at the tray (30).
Figure 3 describes the Roller and driving arrangement of the currency sanitizing apparatus according to the present invention. The view represents driving roller (51b) coupled to the motor (41). Said driving roller (51b) has a surface contact with two driven rollers (51b, 51c). The rollers (51) consist of bushes (53) with bearing at both ends. Said bushes (53) are rigidly mounted on the side walls of the main body (20) and thereby provides a steady support to the rollers (51).
Figure 4 describes the section view of the currency sanitizing apparatus (1) according to the present invention. The Dc motor (41), infrared sensor (23), LED (24), a switch (22) and control unit (25) are enclosed within the compartment. The plurality of rollers (51a, 51b, 51c) are enclosed between side walls of the main body (20). The outer cover (10) forms the enclosure, enclosing the drive unit (21) and tray (30). As shown in section view, the rollers (51) are mounted using the bushes (53) at both ends. A plurality of bearing (52a, 52b, 52c, 52d, 52e, 52f) is encased within each plurality of bush (53a, 53b, 53c, 53d, 53e, 53f) to provide a frictionless rotation for the rollers (51). The roller (51b) is coupled to the DC motor (41). The apparatus (1) is provided with a refill pipe (12) and a cap (11) which is mounted on top of cover (10). A plurality of gripping means (31a, 31b, 31c, 31d) is provided to the device, for a better hold at surface.
Figure 5 describes the exploded view of the currency sanitizing apparatus (1) according to the present invention. Said device (1) is an embodiment consisting of a cover (10), driving unit (21), tray (30), plurality of rollers (51), dc motor (41), control unit (25), Infrared sensor (23) and LED (24). Said tray (30) is filled with the sanitizing liquid through the refill pipe (13). When the user switches the device ‘ON’ using switch (22), the power is supplied to the DC motor. For sanitizing the paper currency, user has to touch the either one of Infrared sensor (23a, 23b). The sensor (23) sends a signal to the DC motor through control unit (25) and the rollers (51) starts to rotate. The sanitizing liquid starts to disperse among the rollers (51) through contact with each other. Depending on the activation of either one of infrared sensor (23), the rollers (51) rotate in the respective direction. The control unit (25) reverses the polarity of the motor (41) and causes the driving roller (51b) to rotate in either clockwise or anticlockwise direction based on active infrared sensor (23) and disables the other infrared sensor (23). The driven roller (51a, 51c) counter rotates with respect to driving roller (51b). Thus, the active slot for insertion of paper currency is indicated by the LED (24a, 24b). The user has to insert the paper currency through active slot (11). Therefore, the rollers (51a, 51b) sanitize the paper currency and disperses the sanitized currency through opposite slot (11).
Figure 6 depicts the currency sanitizing apparatus (1) according to another embodiment of the present invention. In this embodiment, the sensing means such as the Infrared sensor (23a, 23b) is mounted in the inner side of the slot (11). Said sensor (23) is mounted on a plate (61) and said plate is mounted on the side walls of tray compartment. The switch (22) is replaced with direct power supply port (62). When the currency is inserted in the slot (11), the sensor (23) senses the presence of currency and initiates the driving arrangement. As the power connection is directly supplied to the DC motor (41), the motor runs once the signal is received from the sensor (23). This embodiment enables the automatic driving of the apparatus and helps to sanitize the currency in a fast manner. Once the sensor is enabled, the rollers rotate for a predetermined time and stopped automatically. In this embodiment, the rotation of rollers are in only in one direction.
Figure 7 depicts the method of working of the currency sanitizing apparatus (1) according to the present invention. When the currency is inserted in the slot (11), the Infrared sensor (23) senses the presence of currency and sends a signal to the Control unit (25). Said control unit initiates the Driving Motor (41) and rotates in a specific direction. After a predetermined time, the Control unit (25) stops the motor and thereby the rotation of the rollers (51). The number of rotations of the rollers are determined based on the length of the currency notes. The sensor shall also be mounted in either side of the rollers and said rollers can be rotated in either (Clockwise or anti clock wise) direction based on the signal received from the sensors.
The present invention is advantageous as it provides a sanitizing apparatus for sanitizing paper currency. The existing UV light based sanitizing system requires more time to sanitize. But the present invention uses a liquid sanitizer and helps to prevent the transmission of contagious disease and avoids use of harmful UV rays. This apparatus is compact and it can be placed in tables and cash counters. This apparatus consumes very less power and cost effective. The sanitizer evaporates immediately after sanitizing and leaves the paper currency clean and virus free.
In view of the present disclosure which describes preferred and best modes for providing sanitizing apparatus for paper currency. Modifications and variations would present themselves to those skilled in the art without departing from the scope and spirit of this invention. Any modifications and variations coming within the meaning and range of equivalency are considered within the scope. ,CLAIMS:WE CLAIM:
1. A currency sanitizing apparatus (1), said apparatus (1) comprising of an outer cover (10) and a main body (20), said main body (20) consists two compartments such as driving unit (21) and a tray (30) characterized in that, said drive unit (21) compartment consists a driving motor (41), Infrared sensor (23), LED (24), switch (22) and a control unit (25); the tray (30) compartment consists plurality of rollers (51a, 51b, 51c) and bushes (53a, 53b, 53c, 53d, 53e, 53f).
2. The currency sanitizing apparatus (1) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said Infrared sensor (23), LED (24) and a cap (11) is mounted on an outer cover (10) and said cover (10) consists of a slot (11) at both sides.
3. The currency sanitizing apparatus (1) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said apparatus (1) is provided with a refill pipe (12) and a cap (11) and said cap (11) is mounted on top of cover (10).
4. The currency sanitizing apparatus (1) as claimed in claim 1, wherein said driving roller (51b) is coupled to the motor (41) and the plurality of rollers (51a, 51b, 51c) are enclosed between side walls of the main body (20).
5. The currency sanitizing apparatus (1) as claimed in claim 1, wherein sanitizer liquid is stored in the tray (30) and said liquid is transmitted to the rollers (51a, 51b) through the roller (51c).
6. The currency sanitizing apparatus (1) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the Infrared sensor (23a, 23b) is mounted in the inner side of the slot (11) in a plate (61) and said plate is mounted on the side walls of tray compartment.
7. A method of working of the currency sanitizing apparatus (1), said apparatus (1) comprising the steps of;
? Inserting the currency is in the slot (11) manually;
? sensing the presence of currency by the Infrared sensor (23) and sending signal to the Control unit (25);
? initiating the Driving Motor (41) and rotating the driving roller (51b) in a specific direction;
? stopping the motor (41) after a predetermined time by the Control unit (25);
? Changing the direction of rollers in either (Clockwise or anti clock wise) direction based on the signal received from the sensors (23a, 23b).
