An Apparatus For Providing Meditation

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an apparatus (100) for providing riveted concentration and focus to a user practicing meditation. The invention provides for a height adjustable stand (112) that can modify and regulate the height depending on the comfort of the user. A light illumination assembly (110) along with concentration enhancing images (114) are provided in the apparatus (100) that can enable the user to practice meditation for a long duration.

Specification

[1] The present disclosure relates to a meditation support device and a meditation support system.

BACKGROUND
[2] Meditation is a mode of concentration thatbrings in a sense of peace and tranquillity. Meditation, in recent years, is becoming a necessity in the backdrop of obligation of stress, hypertension, insomnia, digital fatigue and loss of concentration due to using multiple devices, and the like. Scientific studies have suggested that the brain changes when performing meditation. Even brief meditation reduces stress and improves concentration power. Meditation often is like training the mind to self-regulate. Meditation is also used to clear the mind and ease health concerns, such as high blood pressure, depression, and anxiety.
[3] Meditation has been practiced since antiquity as a component of numerous religious traditions and beliefs. Meditation aids, such as prayer beads or other ritual objects are commonly used during meditation in order to keep track of, or remind, the practitioner about some aspect of that training. Other meditation devices coordinate illumination of an image and application of meditating sounds when the image is illuminated. However, such a practice will require forced focus that would strain the eye if the duration of meditation is long. There is another meditation aid that uses a three color LED. In this case LED light will also illuminate the entire room so proper focusing is not possible.
[4] However, meditation is not necessarily easy, and there are problems that a correct way to perform meditation is not understood and it is difficult to carry on meditation. What is needed, however, is a novel meditation device that will effortlessly sustain a single-pointed concentration and enable the practitioner to enjoy a harmonious blend of happiness, energy, spirituality, and strength of mind. The present invention satisfies these needs.

OBJECTS OF THE PRESENT DISCLOSURE
[5] Some of the objects of the present disclosure, which at least one embodiment herein satisfies are as listed herein below.
[6] It is an object of the present disclosure to provide an apparatus to enable a user to meditate for a longer period.
[7] It is an object of the present disclosure to provide an apparatus for meditation that would enable any user of any age group to practice meditation.
[8] It is an object of the present disclosure to provide an apparatus for meditation that would enable a user to select an image for meditating.
[9] It is an object of the present disclosure to provide an apparatus for meditation with adjustable height in order to focus on the image.
[10] It is an object of the present disclosure to provide an apparatus for meditation with proper illumination and focal point required for meditation.

SUMMARY
[11] The present disclosure relates to a meditation support device and a meditation support system.
[12] In an aspect, the present disclosure provides an apparatus for providing focus during meditation, the apparatus may include a first housing incorporating at least one removable transparent surface towards front of the apparatus and a fixed opaque surface towards the back of the apparatus; a second housing connected to the first housing, the shape of the second housing being pyramidal, in which a light source may be provided such that light emitted from the light source is incident on the transparent surface; an extendable stand connected to the first housing, the extendable stand may be adapted to extend vertically to allow variation in height of the housing from the ground, in which a image is placed on the transparent surface, and in which the light emitted from the light source is incident on the image placed on the transparent surface to enable a user of the apparatus to focus on the image during practice of meditation.
[13] In an aspect, the light source provided on the second housing in such a way that light emitted by the light source may be incident on the transparent surface from an inner side of the transparent surface.
[14] In an embodiment, the light source may be any electrical, electronic light source, and the like.
[15] In an aspect, the apparatus may include a power storage device adapted to supply power to the light source, and inside which the power storage device may be coupled to the light source through a switch provided on the extendable stand.
[16] In an embodiment, the image may be changed or removed through the one removable transparent surface towards the front of the apparatus.
[17] In another embodiment, the light source may be placed to focus light on the central part of the image.
[18] In an embodiment, the extendable stand adapted to extend vertically to allow variation in height of the combination of the first and the second housing may be adjusted via an assembly of knobs attached to the stand.
[19] In yet another embodiment, the extendable stand may be provided with a scale for measurement.
[20] In an embodiment, the apparatus may include a platform coupled to the first housing, the platform adapted for placement of a second light source operable during power shortage.
[21] In an aspect, a second light source may be provided outside the second housing, on the platform such that light emitted by the second light source is incident on the transparent surface from an outer side of the transparent surface.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[26] In the following description, numerous specific details are ascribed that help in providing an exhaustive understanding of embodiments of the present invention. Exemplary embodiments will now be described more fully hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which exemplary embodiments are shown. This invention may, however, be embodied in many different forms and should not be construed as limited to the embodiments set forth herein. These embodiments are provided so that this disclosure will be thorough and complete and will fully convey the scope of the invention to those of ordinary skill in the art. Moreover, all statements herein reciting embodiments of the invention, as well as specific examples thereof, are intended to encompass both structural and functional equivalents thereof. [27] The present disclosure relates to a meditation support device and a meditation support system.
[28] FIG. 1 illustrates an exemplary design in which or with which proposed apparatus (100) can be implemented in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[29] As illustrated in FIG. 1,in an aspect of the present disclosure, the exemplary design is of the proposed apparatus 100 (interchangeably referred to as apparatus 100, hereinafter) that can be used to focus during meditation, the apparatus 100can include a first housing 102 (interchangeably referred to as housing 102, hereinafter) incorporating at least one removable transparent surface 104 towards front of the apparatus and a fixed opaque surface 106 towards the back of the apparatus; a second housing 108interchangeably referred to as housing 108, hereinafter)connected to the first housing 102, the shape of the second housing 108 being pyramidal, in which a light source 110 can be provided such that light emitted from the light source is incident on the transparent surface 102, the light source 110 can be placed in such a way it can be in a straight line with the central part of said back surface (106); an extendable stand 112 connected to the first housing, the extendable stand 112can be adapted to extend vertically to allow variation in height of the housing 102, in which an image 114 is placed on the transparent surface 104, and in which the light emitted from the light source 110 is incident on the image 114 placed on the transparent surface104 to enable a user of the apparatus 100 to focus on the image 114 during practice of meditation.
[30] In an aspect, the first housing 102 can include any rectangular, square shape and the like. The removable transparent surface 104 can be made of glass, fiber sheets and the like. For example, the transparent surface 104 can be removed to insert or change the image 114 present inside the housing 102. Thus, a user can have the advantage of removing or changing an image as per the interest, faith, and convenience without any issue.
[31] In an aspect, the light source 110on the second housing 108 such that light emitted by the light source 110 is incident on the transparent surface 104 from an outer side of the transparent surface 104. For example, the pyramidal shape of the second housing 108 can help focusing the light from the light source 110 in a small region.
[32] In an embodiment, the light source 110 can be any electrical, electronic light source, and the like. For example, the light source 110can include an electric bulb, an LED, incandescent, compact fluorescent (CFL), halogen, and the like.
[33] In an embodiment, the apparatus 100can include a power storage device 116 adapted to supply power to the light source 110.The power storage device 116 can be coupled to the light source 110through a switch 118 provided on the extendable stand 112.
[34] In an embodiment, the image 114 can be changed or removed through the one removable transparent surface 104 towards the front of the apparatus 100. In an exemplary embodiment, the image 114 can include OM Symbol, Swastik Symbol, Yellow Dot surrounded by Black concentric circle and the like.
[35] In another embodiment, the light source 110 is placed in such a way that it can focus light on the central part 127 of the image 114.For example, the user can improve concentration by focusing on the central part of the image as it helps in inducing more concentration power which is another added advantage.
[36] In an embodiment, the extendable stand 112 adapted to extend vertically to allow variation in height of the housing 102 can be adjusted via an assembly of knobs 120 attached to the stand 112. For example, any age group person can practice meditation with the help of the adjustable stand because it reduces the parallax between user eye and central part of image which is yet another advantage.
[37] In yet another embodiment, the extendable stand 112can be of vertical cylindrical dowel shaped, U shaped, S shaped, bespoke shaped and the like and can be provided with a scale for measurement.
[38] In an embodiment, the apparatus 100 can include a platform 122 coupled to the first housing 102, where the platform 122 can be adapted for placement of a second light source 124 operable during power shortage. The second light source 124 operable during power shortage can include an earthen lamp, a candle, and the like. For example, in absence of line current, an earthen lamp or the diya can be lighted to meditate using the apparatus 100.
[39] FIG. 2 illustrates an exemplary design of the side view of the second housing 108 wherein are included the light source 110 and the image 114, in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[40] As illustrated in FIG. 2, a closed side view of with the second housing 108 wherein the image 114 and the light source110 can be placed can be provided. Herein, the light source 110 on the second housing 108 can be placed in such a way that the light from it can be a circular spot 127 on the image 114 and can be in line with the central circular spot at the back opaque surface 106 facing towards the circular spot 127.
[41] In an embodiment, the apparatus 100 can offer the following advantages such as adjustable height of the stand because of which a user of any age group can use it for practicing meditation, enhanced illumination and smaller focusing area enabling a user to meditate for a long duration, removal of the image as per the interest, faith, and convenience of the user, inclusion an image which cannot be tempered with and providing deep concentration of Eyebrow centre (Agya Chakra).
[42] The foregoing describes various embodiments of the invention, other and further embodiments of the invention may be devised without departing from the basic scope thereof. The scope of the invention is determined by the claims that follow. The invention is not limited to the described embodiments, versions or examples, which are included to enable a person having ordinary skill in the art to make and use the invention when combined with information and knowledge available to the person having ordinary skill in the art.
ADVANTAGES OF THE PRESENT DISCLOSURE
[43] The present disclosure provides for an apparatus for enhancing concentration for a user practicing meditation.
[44] The present disclosure provides for an apparatus that offers adjustable height of the stand because of which a user of any age group can use it for practicing meditation.
[45] The present disclosure provides for an apparatus that offers enhanced illumination and smaller focusing area enabling a user to meditate for a long duration.
[46] The present disclosure provides for an apparatus that includes an image which can be removed or changed as per the interest, faith, and convenience of the user.
[47] The present disclosure provides for an apparatus that includes an image which cannot be tempered with.
[48] The present disclosure provides for an apparatus that enables deep concentration of Eyebrow centre (Agya Chakra).

Claims:1. An apparatus for providing focus during meditation, the apparatus comprising:
a first housing (102) comprising at least one removable transparent surface (104) towards front of the apparatus (100) and a fixed opaque surface (106) towards the back of the apparatus (100);
a second housing (108) connected to the first housing (102), the shape of the housing being pyramidal,
wherein a light source (110) is placed on the second housing (108) such that light emitted from the light source (110) is incident on the transparent surface (102);
an extendable stand (112) connected to the first housing (102), the extendable stand (112) adapted to extend vertically to allow variation in height of combination of the first housing (102) and the second housing (108),
wherein an image (114) is placed on the transparent surface (104), and
wherein the light emitted from the light source (110) is incident on the image (114) placed on the transparent surface (104) to enable a user of the apparatus (100) to focus on the image (114) during practice of meditation.
2. The apparatus (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the light source (110) such that light emitted by the light source (110) is incident on the transparent surface (104) from an inner side of the transparent surface (104).
3. The apparatus as claimed in claim 2, wherein the light source (110) is any or a combination of electrical and electronic light source.
4. The apparatus (100) as claimed in claim 4, wherein the apparatus (100) comprises a power storage device (116) adapted to supply power to the light source, and wherein the power storage device (116) is coupled to the light source (110) through a switch (118) provided on the extendable stand(112).
5. The apparatus (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the image (114) is changed or removed through said one removable transparent surface (104) towards the front of the apparatus (100).
6. The apparatus (100) as claimed in claim 4, wherein the light source (110) is placed to focus light on the central part of the image (114).
7. The apparatus (100)as claimed in claim 1, wherein the extendable stand (112) adapted to extend vertically to allow variation in height of the first housing (102) and the second housing (108)are adjusted via an assembly of knobs (120) attached to the stand (112).
8. The apparatus (100) as claimed in claim 7, wherein the extendable stand (112) is provided with a scale for measurement.
9. The apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein the apparatus (100) comprises a platform (122) coupled to the second housing (108), the platform (122) adapted for placement of a second light source (124) operable during power shortage.
10. The apparatus (100) as claimed in claim 9, wherein the second light source (124) is provided outside the first housing (102), on the platform (122) such that light emitted by the second light source (124) is incident on the transparent surface (104) from an outer side of the transparent surface (104).
