Abstract: AN APPARATUS FOR PUNCHING VENTILATION HOLES IN A VEHICLE SEAT BASE FABRIC The present invention discloses an apparatus (200) for punching ventilation holes (202) in a vehicle seat base fabric (204). The apparatus (200) includes a base (210), and a platform (212) laterally movable relative to the base (210). The apparatus (200) further includes a perforation mold (214) having a plurality of protrusions (238), and is configured to receive the vehicle seat base fabric (204). The apparatus (200) further includes a securing unit (216) to secure the vehicle seat base fabric (204). The apparatus (200) further includes a perforation roller (218) to rotate on the vehicle seat base fabric (204) for punching ventilation holes (202), and is rotatable in cooperation with the movement of the platform (212). The apparatus (200) further includes a driving unit (220) connected to the platform (212) and the perforation roller (218), to simultaneously move the platform (212) and rotate the perforation roller (218) in a same direction.

a base (210);
a platform (212) disposed on the base (210),
wherein
the platform (212) is laterally movable relative to the base (210);
a perforation mold (214) having a plurality of protrusions (238), is detachably mounted on the platform (212), and is configured to receive the vehicle seat base fabric (204) for punching ventilation holes (202);
a securing unit (216) disposed above the platform (212) to secure the vehicle seat base fabric (204) when the vehicle seat base fabric (204) is arranged in the perforation mold (214);
a perforation roller (218) disposed above the platform (212), to rotate on the vehicle seat base fabric (204) for punching ventilation holes (202) in the vehicle seat base fabric (204), the perforation roller (218) is rotatable in cooperation with the lateral movement of the platform (212); and
a driving unit (220) connected to the platform (212) and the perforation roller (218), to simultaneously move the platform (212) and rotate the perforation roller (218) in a same direction.
The apparatus (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the base (210) includes a guide rail (222) at the longitudinal edges, and the platform (212) includes a slider (224) at the longitudinal edges.
The apparatus (200) as claimed in claim 2, wherein the slider (224) is engaged to the guide rail (222), and the slider (224) is configured to slide on the guide rail (222) for facilitating the movement of the platform (212) relative to the base (210).
The apparatus (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the platform (212) includes a gear rack (226) extending longitudinally on the bottom surface.
The apparatus (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the protrusions (238) have a hollow cylindrical configuration.
The apparatus (200) as claimed in claim 5, wherein the perforation mold (214) comprises:
a perforation mold frame (230) having a plurality of outlets (232) configured to connect to an adsorption pump;
a waste receiving groove (240) formed at a hollow portion of the protrusions (238) for receiving the waste generated during punching of ventilation hole (202);
a waste collecting section (242) at the bottom of the waste receiving groove (240) for collecting the waste received from the waste receiving groove (240); and
a waste connecting channel (244) at the base of the perforation mold frame (230) connecting the waste collecting section (242) and the outlets (232) for delivering the waste from the waste collecting section (242) to the outlets (232).
The apparatus (200) as claimed in clam 6, wherein the perforation mold (214) includes a plurality of waste collecting sections (242), and each waste collecting section (242) collects waste from multiple waste receiving grooves (240) positioned above the respective waste collecting section (242).
The apparatus (200) as claimed in claim 6, wherein the perforation mold (214) includes a plurality of waste collecting channels (244), and each waste collecting channel (244) delivers waste from multiple waste collecting sections (242).
The apparatus (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the securing unit (216) comprises:
a vertical frame (246) positioned at a front and at a rear of the base (210) in a parallel arrangement;
a plate (248) disposed horizontally on the top of the vertical frames (246);
a pair of cylinders (250) having a cylinder rod (252), installed vertically on the upper surface of the plate (248);
a roller frame (254) attached at the end of the cylinder rod (252) and is movable upwards and downwards along with the upward and downward movement of the cylinder rod (252); and
a plurality of rollers (256) rotatably installed in the roller frame (254) to roll on the vehicle seat base fabric (204) when the vehicle seat base fabric is arranged in the perforation mold (214).
The apparatus (200) as claimed in claim 9, wherein the vertical frames (246) are located at the central portion of the front and the rear of base (210).
The apparatus (200) as claimed in claim 9, wherein the cylinders (250) are installed in such a manner that the ends of cylinder rods (252) extend below the plane of the plate (248).
The apparatus (200) as claimed in claim 9, wherein the securing unit (216) further includes a movable block (258) arranged in the vertical frame (246), and configured to be move upward and downward relative to the vertical frame (246).
The apparatus (200) as claimed in claim 12, wherein the securing unit (216) further includes a height adjusting handle (260) on the top surface of the plate (248) for controlling the vertical movement of the movable block (258).
The apparatus (200) as claimed in claim 13, wherein the perforation roller (218) is mounted on the movable block (258) via a perforation roller shaft (264).
The apparatus (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the driving unit (220) comprises:
a motor (268) having a motor shaft (270), and a motor shaft sprocket (272) mounted on the motor shaft (270) and configured to rotate with the motor shaft (270);
a first rotating shaft (274) having a first shaft sprocket (276), a first shaft gear (278) and a drive gear (280), the first shaft sprocket (276) is rotatably connected to the motor shaft sprocket (272), the first shaft gear (278) is engaged to a gear rack (226) on the platform (212), and the drive gear (280) is positioned at the end of the first rotating shaft (274);
a second rotating shaft (282) having a driven gear (284) and a second rotating shaft pulley (286), the driven gear (284) is positioned at the end of the second rotating shaft (282) and is engaged to the driving gear (280), and the second rotating shaft pulley (286) is connecting to a perforation roller shaft pulley (288) arranged in the perforation roller shaft (264) via a belt (290).
The apparatus (200) as claimed in claim 15, wherein the motor (268) is rotatable in clockwise and anti-clockwise direction.
The apparatus (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the apparatus (200) further includes a control unit (292) for operating the driving unit (220) by sending a control signal to the driving unit (220).
The apparatus (200) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the vehicle seat base fabric is made by adhering a foam layer (206) and an outer layer (208).
