Summary of the invention
[0009] The present invention relates to the field of multi-utility arrangement for vehicles. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to an arrangement which can be used as a tabletop or a storage box as desired by the passenger(s) of the vehicle interior.
[0010] The present invention discloses an arrangement for a vehicle interior, the arrangement comprising a tabletop for configuring a table arrangement. The tabletop may comprise a middle portion and two side portions. The two side portions can be pivotally connected to opposite sides of the middle portion such that the middle portion and the two side portion can create a U-shaped space. A roller shutter may be arranged at the tabletop, more particularly on or in the middle portion such that the roller shutter can close at least partially the U-shaped space for configuring a storage arrangement.
[0011] Further, the side portions may comprise guiding grooves configured on the periphery of the two side portions adapted to engage with the roller shutter to close at least partially the U-shaped space. Particularly, the roller shutter may comprise plurality of slats connected by a way of live hinges or by a way of bendable manner. Wherein a pair of pins is arranged at both ends of the plurality of slats outwardly in the width wise direction adapted to engage and slide on or in the guiding grooves to close at least partially the U-shaped space.
[0012] In an embodiment, the roller shutter may be arranged in or on the middle portion of the tabletop such that the pair of pins may engage and slide on or in the guiding grooves to close at least partially the U-shaped space. The guiding grooves may be of C-shaped channel and at least one of the pair of pins may be of bendable T-shaped structure for locking the roller shutter with the two side portions. The at least one of the pair of pins may be spring loaded and may have a protruding portion accessible to a passenger for unlocking the roller shutter from the two side portion for pivoting the side portions again at the table arrangement as desired by the passenger(s) of the vehicle interior.
[0013] More particularly in an implementation of some embodiment, the T-shaped structure has a first side and a second side such that when the two side portion pivots in opposite direction the first side of the bendable T-shaped structure of the pair of pins abuts against the C-shaped channel and bends into the C-shaped channel of the guiding grooves, thus the roller shutter engages with the two side portions and the roller shutter may close it to configure the storage arrangement. Further, when the passenger actuates the protruding portion of the roller shutter the second side of the bendable T-shaped structure abuts against an inner side of the C-shaped structure of the guiding grooves and thus bends to come out of the two side portion so that the side portion may pivots back to the table arrangement position.
[0014] In an embodiment, the tabletop may be movable from a stow position to a deployed position in an elevation direction of the vehicle interior or in a Z-direction, that is perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the vehicle interior. At the stow position the tabletop may be hidden or flushed into a carrier surface of the vehicle interior for example inside a floor or a roof or any suitable trim part of the vehicle interior. Further, a mechanical link such as a telescopic rod or a scissor linkage may be arranged inside the carrier surface in a connectable manner to the middle portion of the tabletop for configuring the deployed position by extending the mechanical link at a desired height by a passenger of the vehicle interior. Further, an electronic means such as an electric motor may be configured within the vehicle interior to move the tabletop from stow position to multiple used position or vice-versa.

[0033] According to an aspect, the present invention relates to an arrangement (1000) for a vehicle interior. The arrangement (1000) has a tabletop (10) configuring a table arrangement. The tabletop (10) has a middle portion (11) and two side portions (12,13). The two side portions (12,13) are pivotally connected to opposite side portions of the middle portion (11) such that the middle portion (11) and the two side portions (12,13) can create a U-shaped space. A roller shutter (20) is arranged at the tabletop (10) such that the roller shutter (20) can close at least partially the U-shaped space for configuring a storage arrangement.
[0034] As illustrated in Figs 1a to 1b, the proposed arrangement (1000) of the vehicle interior for a table arrangement (1000a) or a storage arrangement (1000b) is shown. The arrangement (1000) includes a tabletop (10) having a middle portion (11) and two side portions (12,13). The two side portions (12, 13) are pivotally connected to opposite side portions of the middle portion (11) such that the middle portion (11) and the two side portions (12, 13) can create a U-shaped space. Particularly, when the side portions (12,13) pivots in a opposite direction to each other to a position substantially perpendicular to the middle portion (11) it creates the U-shaped space in between the walls (12 and 13). A roller shutter (10) is arranged on or in the middle portion (11) of the tabletop (10) such that the roller shutter (20) can close at least partially the U-shaped space for configuring a storage arrangement (1000b). Further, the side portions (12,13) include guiding grooves (12a, 13a) configured on the periphery of the two side portions (12, 13) adapted to engage with the roller shutter (20) to close at least partially the U-shaped space. Particularly, the roller shutter (20) includes plurality of slats (20b) connected by a way of live hinges or in a way of bendable manner adapted to engage and slide on or in the guiding grooves (12a, 13a) to close at least partially the U-shaped space.
[0035] In an embodiment, the roller shutter (20) is arranged inside a slot (not shown) arranged on the middle portion (11). A roller (not shown) may be arranged inside the slot such that the slats (20b) of the roller shutter (20) are rolled on the roller. The slats (20b) of the roller shutter (20) may rotate on a roller axis to deploy the roller shutter (20) to close at least partially the U-shaped space for configuring a storage arrangement.
[0036] In another embodiment, the roller shutter (20) is fastened on to the middle portion (11). By way of non-limiting example, the roller shutter (20) may be fastened by a clip or by a screw.
[0037] As illustrated in Figs 2a to 2b and 3a to 3b, an exemplary view of the proposed arrangement (1000) of the vehicle interior is arranged at a carrier part (300) of the vehicle interior is shown. The carrier part (300) can be a floor (as shown in figs 2a to 2b) or a roof (as shown in figs 3a to 3b) of the vehicle interior. Particularly, the figure 2a and 3a illustrates the proposed arrangement (1000) is hidden or flushed into the carrier part (300) (the floor or the roof) of the vehicle interior. The figure 2b and 3b illustrates the arrangement (1000) is movable from a stow position (10a) to a deployed position (10b) in an elevation direction of the vehicle interior. In the deployed position (10b), the arrangement (1000) can be moved between multiple used position. Particularly, the tabletop (10) is moved away from the carrier part (300) (the floor or the roof) in the elevation direction of the vehicle interior or in a Z direction of the vehicle interior by using a mechanical link (15) such as a telescopic rod (as shown in figs 2b and 3b) or a scissor linkage to move the table top (10) to a predefined height by a passenger of the vehicle interior to configure the table arrangement (1000a). The mechanical link (15) is connectable to the middle portion (11) of the tabletop (10) for configuring the deployed position (10b) by extending the mechanical link (15) at a predefined height by a passenger of the vehicle interior. The figure 2c and 3c illustrates the arrangement (1000) is placed partially in or on the carrier part (300) (the floor or the roof) of the vehicle interior and the two side portions (12, 13) are pivoted in opposite direction to create the U-shaped space in between the middle portion (11) and the side portions (12, 13) and the roller shutter (20) to close the U-shaped space for configuring the storage arrangement (1000b).
[0038] As illustrated in Figs 4a to 4b, an exemplary view of the proposed arrangement (1000) of the vehicle interior is shown, as depicted the arrangement (1000) is moved away from the carrier part (300) (the floor or the roof) in the elevation direction of the vehicle interior by using a mechanical link (15) to a desired height by a passenger of the vehicle interior, the two side portions (12, 13) are pivoted to create the U-shaped space in between the middle portion (11) and the side portions (12, 13) and closing it by the roller shutter (20) for configuring the storage arrangement (1000b) at a desired height in the vehicle interior.
[0039] As illustrated in Figs 5a, an exemplary view of the of a roller shutter (20) of the proposed arrangement (1000) of the vehicle interior is shown. The roller shutter (20) comprises plurality of slats (20b) connected by a way of live hinges or in a way of bendable manner adapted to engage and slide on or in the guiding grooves (12a, 13a) of the two side portions (12, 13) to close at least partially the U-shaped space. Particularly, a pair of pins (27) is arranged at both ends of the plurality of slats (20b) outwardly in the widthwise direction and is adapted to engage and slide on or in the guiding grooves (12a,13a) to close at least partially the U-shaped space.
[0040] Now referring to fig 5b, 5c and 5d, a detailed exemplary view of the guide grooves (12a) and one of the pair of the pins (27) of the proposed arrangement (1000) of vehicle interior is shown. The guiding grooves (12a, 13b) is of C-shaped channel and one of the pair of pins (27) is of bendable T-shaped structure (27a) for locking the roller shutter (20) with the two side portions (12, 13) when the two side portions (12, 13) pivots to create the U-shaped space in between the walls (11, 12, 13). Particularly, the T-shaped structure (27a) has a first side (27-1a) and a second side (27-1b) such that when the two side portions (12, 13) pivots in opposite direction, the first side (27-1a) of the bendable T-shaped structure (27a) of the pair of pins (27) abuts against the C-shaped channel of the guiding grooves (12a, 13a) and bends into the C-shaped channel of the guiding grooves (12a, 13a), thus the roller shutter (20) engages with the two side portions (12, 13). Further, one of the pair of pins (27) is spring loaded and comprises a protruding portion (26) coming out of one of the slat (20a) of the plurality of slats (20b) which is accessible to a passenger (as shown in figs 5a, 5c and 5d) for unlocking the roller shutter (20) from the two side portions (12, 13) for pivoting the side portions (12, 13) again in the table arrangement (1000a) as desired by the passenger of the vehicle interior. In the present embodiment, the spring is a tensile spring (26a) as shown in fig 5c and 5d. In implementation, when the passenger actuates the protruding portion (26) the second side (27-1b) of the bendable T-shaped structure (27a) abuts against the C-shaped structure of the guiding grooves (12a, 13a) and thus bends to come out of the two side portions (12, 13).
[0041] In exemplary embodiment, the arrangement (1000) is arranged centrally in the vehicle interior such that when the arrangement is used as tabletop (10) it may be at placed centrally in between the front seat(s) (202) and / or rear seat(s) (201) as shown in figs 2a-2c and 3a to 3c.
[0042] In exemplary embodiment, the mechanical link (15) of the proposed arrangement (1000) may move from the stow position (10a) to the deployed position (10b) by using an electronic means such as an electric motor(s).
[0043] Thus, the proposed invention provides an arrangement to be used as table arrangement for conference(s) / writing purpose / simply as a tabletop or as a storage arrangement for storing article therein.
[0044] The proposed invention provides the arrangement which is easy to switch between a table arrangement and a storage arrangement.
[0045] The proposed invention provides the table arrangement or the storage arrangement which may move at a desired height as per the vehicle passenger(s) demand.
