FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a mechanism for clearing recalcitrant wasfv raolmve ian slaidvea tao lrayv aatnodr,y mfoorr dei ssppoescailf iocfa lslayi,d t wo aasnt ea. rrangement for opening a distec
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The existing system employs drain valves for either sealing the waste to prevent its leakage in a system or for manipulating the flow of liquid waste in the system. Further, valves may regulate the pressure of the inflow of liquid waste and thereby facilitating removal of waste by application of vacuum in the system. The application of these arrangements involves clearing of mainly liquid waste or biodegradable solid waste. As railways were struggling to stop open discharge of human waste and after trying various technologies, the biological system was successful in achieving the results. The railways has always faced problem of choking and thereby clearing non-biodegradable waste from the lavatories, since passengers often throw trash inside a coach lavatory. However, the space between the retention tank and the coach underframe was always a constraint in fitting such a mechanism for clearing recalcitrant waste from inside the coach lavatory. The space availability is very complex because there are certain components of the coach, which cannot be moved and changed. Moreover, the narrow space between the tank surface and the underframe was 200 mm only, making it difficult for the complete arrangement to work. Further, the disc valve used to open from a handle provided on the tank top but it was difficult to open said valve in a moving train and could only be opened when the train stopped.
3
In light of the above, there is a need for an arrangement inside the railway coacll aimvaitteodry s pwahciec ha iaddindgr einss celse athrien gli mofi tnaotino-nbsio odfe tghrea dparibolre aorbtj, eicst esa. sily operable in thhe SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An objective of the present invention is to provide a mechanism, which can be accommodated in the limited space between a retention tank (10) and coach underframe (11) thereby facilitating clearing of recalcitrant waste from a lavatory of railway coach. To achieve the above-mentioned objectives, the present invention provides a mechanism to open a disc valve (7) inside the coach of said lavatory. It deploys a gear and rack arrangement to open the disc valve (7) and a disc valve connecting lever (18) is provided to open the mechanism from the lavatory of the coach. So, the system is designed in a way that it utilizes whatever space is available in the coach. The present invention allows the gear and rack mechanism along with a gearlever (3) to move 235 mm in the limited space of 200 mm between the retention tank and the coach underframe, thereby overcoming the space limitation and enabling clearing of non-biodegradable waste from inside the lavatory of the coach. The link system developed in the present invention enables opening of said disc valve (7) inside the lavatory by a paddle (1). In an embodiment of the present invention, an arrangement for opening the disc valve (7) inside the lavatory of the coach comprising said paddle (1), a lever (2) connected to said paddle, a gear and rack assembly linked to said lever by a rod (16) and said disc valve (7) , an opening mechanism (9) housed inside the lavatory facilitated by said assembly linked to said disc valve (7) for clearing one or more non-biodegradable objects, wherein said assembly is operational in the limited space provided between the retention tank (10) and the coach underframe (11).
4
In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, said gear and rack assembly comprises a gear lever (3) to move connecting gear, a rack (4) provided with a knob (12), which is connected with the disc valve connecting lever (18). The rack (4) is then connected with one of the gears and then the gear is connected with lever of said disc valve (7) for opening said disc valve (7) inside the lavatory. In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention said arrangement is specifically designed for railways. In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, wherein said opening mechanism (9) opens a waste drain channel (17) linking said disc valve (7) to a hollow section (13) for clearing non biodegradable waste. In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, wherein said lever is connected to a main frame and said gear and rack assembly by said rod (16). In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, wherein said disc valve connecting lever (18) opens said waste drain channel (17) paving way to clear choking of said channel (17) by non-biodegradable objects. In another embodiment of the present invention, said disc valve (7) opens directly inside the lavatory of the coach by said gear and rack assembly operational by help of a paddle (1). In another embodiment of the present invention, wherein said lever (2) is connected to said main frame and the assembly for opening said waste drain channel (17) connecting the disc valve to the hollow section in the lavatory operational in the space provided between said retention tank (10) and said coach underframe (11).
5
In another embodiment of the present invention, wherein said disc valve (7) opens directly inside the lavatory of the coach by said gear and rack assembly linked to said lever (2) operational by help of said paddle (1). In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, wherein said rack (4) is connected with a disc valve connecting lever (18) to open said disc valve (7). In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, wherein said rack (4) is provided with a knob (12), which is connected to, said disc valve connecting lever (18). In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, wherein said rack (4) is connected with one gear and said gear is connected with said disc valve connecting lever (18) to open the disc valve (7). In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, wherein said paddle (1) is provided to open the lever (2) and said waste drain channel (17), said disc valve (7) clearing non-biodegradable waste inside the lavatory of the coach.
