Specification

FIELD OF INVENTION
This invention relates to an assembly for holding battery, coolant bottle and
battery harness in a vehicle. The assembly comprising of integrated brackets
connected to a tray.
PRIOR ART
Tray and bracket assembly is known to have been provided in a vehicle for
holding battery, coolant bottle and battery harness. In this regard reference
may be made to fig. 1. Tray (1) comprising a panel that is used to mount the
battery. There is provision of a bracket (2) to hold reservoir bottle containing
coolant for radiator i.e. coolant bottle. The inner surface of the bracket (2)
follows a convex surface gring rise to more stresses.
Further, there is another bracket (3) having L-section to hold battery harness.
A1l the above components of said assembly are required to be of different
thickness. Hence said brackets can't be integrated into one piece and therefore
spot welded to the tray.
The known assembly is associated with some disadvantages, which can be
listed hereinbelow:-
Handling of more number of parts.
More number of mountings of child parts (brackets) on tray leading to
increase in variation in the assembly accuracy.
More assembly time for assembling more parts together.
The present invention has been introduced to combine tray with brackets by
integrating the brackets into a single piece, which is spot welded to the tray of
uniform thickness. This can address the short comings of the known tray and
bracket assembly discussed hereinabove.
-3-
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
Primary object of the present invention is to provide an assembly for holding
battery, coolant bottle and battery harness in a vehicle which overcomes
disadvantages associated with the prior art.
Another object of the present invention is to provide an assembly for holding
battery, coolant bottle and battery harness in a vehicle which is simple in
construction.
Further object of the present invention is to provide an assembly for holding
battery, coolant bottle and battery harness in a vehicle which is reliable and
efficient.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide an assembly for
holding battery, coolant botfle and battery harness in a vehicle which is cost
effective.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide €rn assembly for
holding battery, coolant bottle and battery harness in a vehicle which
constitutes a single structure of brackets connected to tray of uniform
thickness.
SUMMARY OF THE IIT1IEITTION
According to this invention, there is provided an assembly for holding battery,
coolant bottle and battery harness in a vehicle comprising a tray for battery
connected with an integrated assembly of brackets for battery harness and
coolant bottle.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
Further objects and advantages of this invention will be more apparent from
the ensuing description when read in conjunction with the accompanying
drawings and wherein:
Fig. 1 shows: conventional tray with bracket assembly.
Fig. 2 shows: tray with bracket assembly in accordance with the present
invention.
Fig. 2A shows: Enlarged perspective view of present invention.
Fig. 3 shows: outline of bracket for holding coolant bottle from top.
DETNL DTSCRIPTIOIT OF THE IIYTTEITTIOIT WITH REFERENCE TO THE
ACCOMPANYIITG DRAWINGS
The instant invention discloses an assembly for holding battery, coolant bottle
and battery harness in a vehicle. The assembly comprising a tray for battery,
which is connected with a bracket to hold coolant bottle and another bracket
for battery harness, wherein both the brackets are integrally provided. Now,
reference may be made to fig. 2, in which the tray (T) comprising a panel which
is longer than the conventional panel of tray. Further, the tray is having more
number of mounting points for mounting on the under member.
The assembly has a bracket (1) for holding battery harness which is integrated
to another bracket (21 for coolant bottle with a connecting member (3)
therebetween. This constitutes a single structure.
The bracket (1) for harness is having a Z-section. Inner surface of said bracket
(21 for coolant bottle follows concave surface (C) with respect to adjacent
surface (A, B) on both sides which is indicated in fig. 3. This provision of inner
surface avoids stresses unlike prior art.
-5-
The connecting member (3) constitutes a curved section facilitating clamping
and mounting during assembly. It also provides rigidity to the connecting
brackets.
The single structure comprising both the brackets (1 and 2) is spot welded to
battery tray (T) of same thickness.
The assembly of invention is preferably made of steel without restricting scope
of the invention to the sarne.
Advantageous Features: -
- Handling of less number of parts compared to prior art.
- Less weight due to uniform thickness, thereby making it cost effective.
- More rigidity of brackets.
- Less time for assembly.
- Achievement of assembly accuracy.
- Satisfies CAE simulations.
It is to be noted that the present invention is susceptible to modifications,
adaptations and changes by those skilled in the art. Such variant embodiments
employing the concepts and features of this invention are intended to be within
the scope of the present invention, which is further set forth under the
following claims:-
-6-
