An Assembly To Prevent Recontamination Of Water Flowing Out Of A Water Purifier System

Abstract: ABSTRACT This invention relates to a water purifier assembly provided with a UV I HI) within the outlet end for water. This UV LED is acfivaicd by a flow controlswitch prior to and during water flow through the outlet. UV rays entitled kills microorganism present at the outlet end and prevents recontarnination of water at die outlet end.

Specification

"An assembly to prevent recontamination of water flowing out of it water
purifier system"
This invention relates to an assembly to prevent recomtamination of warerr flowing out of a water purifier system. Indian domestic water purification market is flooded with various water purifier systems. These water purifier systems arc based on various technologies such as UV radiation, reverse osmosis, membrane and halougn resin based. However, water that passes out through such purifiers is at a high risk ol' getting recontaminated. The environment that surrounds the water purifier is likek to be contaminated with various microorganisms and it is easy for such mieruoruanisms to gain entry into and outside the spout or tap through which purified water flows out to the consumer.
The object of this invention is to prevent or minimize recontamination of purified water flowing out through the spout of a water purifier assembly.
Currently available water purifier assemblies are designed to purify water in three or four steps, but they do not have any means to prevent recontamination o\' purified water at the spout/tap, where the consumer collects such purified water from the system.
A UV LED is mounted in the spout/tap of water purifier systems to enable destruction of microorganism that gain entry into the spout and are likely to contaminate the water flowing out. This UV LED is designed to automatically activate as the water flows through the spout. Preferably a UV l.KD emitting USD nm to 360 nm UV light is installed. A flow control switch is provided to activate the light-emitting diode. This switch is automatically activated before water flow reaches the spout and is kept activated during the flow.
Accordingly, invention relates to an assembly to prevent recontamination of water flowing out through a water purifier system comprising a UV light emitting diode positioned within the spout or water outlet of a water purifier assembK and a flow control switch to activate the UV LED prior to and during water How through said outlet to destroy any microorganisms at said outlet to prevent recontamination of water flowing out.

This invention will now be described with reference to the single figure in the accompanying drawings.
Reference numeral 1 represents the spout or water outlet end of a water purifier assembly which is not illustrated. Numeral 2 is the UV LED connected to a flow
control switch 3 which activates the LED prior to and during water flow to emit radiation and to kill microorganism that may be present at the exit end-Obvious modifications and alterations known to persons skilled in the art are not excluded from the scope and ambit of the appended claim6 •

WE CLAIM:
1. An assembly to prevent recontamination of purified water flowing out through
a water purification system comprising a UV light emitting diode positioned
within the spout'tap of a water purifier assembly and a flow control switch lo
activate the UV LED prior to and during water flow through said outlet to
destroy any microorganism at said outlet to prevent recontamination of water
flowing out.
2. The assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein said UV LED emits UV radiation of 200 nm to 360 nm. More preferably between 280 nm to 360 nm.
3. An assembly to prevent recontamination of water flowing out through water purification.
