Field of the Invention:
This invention relates to testing systems.

More particularly, this invention relates to an auto test bench for kiosk type panel testing.
Background of the Invention:
Switchgear components are electrical and electronic components which are shipped to a client only after testing. The testing may include multiple cycles of a single test or a single cycle of miltiple tests or multiple cycles of multiple tests.
A plurality of standard tests have been defined for each switchgear equipment in order to standardize the switchgear product. The testing equipment may include vacuum circuit breakers, relays, meters, indicating lamps, anti-pumping devices and other accessories.
Tests conducted on panels are Control circuit test and Primary Injection test, mV drop test, and HV test. All these tests are conduced with the help of single phase current injection source. Time required to complete the all tests is nearly 4-hrs and need various test setups like three phase voltage source, three phase current source, and 110V AC single phase source.
Also, sometimes, according to customer requirement, customer specific electrical scheme simulation needs to be done. This means that test parameters need to be
altered and tweaked in order to prove performance. Since, most of the testing is in analog format, additional time for preparing setup with various input sources to be connected to the switchgear equipment or panel to be tested is required.
Additionally, monitoring the result of each test, recording non conformities, retesting after repair and declaring the test result is very complex, time consuming and error prone exercise. The probability of operator skipping a test may result in failure of equipment or panel at site.
Therefore, there is a need for a testing system which overcomes above said constraints so as to provide an integrated device, capable of providing required current, voltage and which shall be able to control, monitor, record complete test sequence and declare the test result.

The invention will now be described in relation to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 illustrates a schematic of auto test bench for kiosk type panel testing; and
Figure 2 illustrates a sequential flow of tests adapted to be performed by the auto test bench of Figure 1.
Detailed Description of the Accompanying Drawings:
According to this invention, there is provided an auto test bench for kiosk type panel testing. The test bench includes a plurality of testing means incorporated within itself so that when a panel to be tested is attached to the auto test bench, the tests can be sequentially and automatically lined for the panel and carried out one after another. In case, there is an error, the testing will stop. Results of each test are recorded one after another.
Figure 1 illustrates a schematic of auto test bench for kiosk type panel testing.
In accordance with an embodiment of this invention' there is provided a coupling means (CM) adapted to couple a panel (P) to the auto test bench (ATB). The coupling is electrical coupling. There are 32 wires provided which are adapted to be connected to the panel. These wires are for inputas well as output.
Figure 2 illustrates a sequential flow of tests adapted to be performed by the auto test bench of Figure 1,
In accordance with another embodiment of this invention, there is provided a testing means (TM) adapted to conduct tests selected from a plurality of tests. The tests are listed as under:
1. Power Qack checking test (10)
2. AC circuit check test (20)
3. Indication lamp and TCS check test (30)
4. Closing circuit checking - local position test (40)
5. Tripping circuit checking - local position test (50)
6. Anti-pumping checking test (60)
7. Closing circuit checking - remote position test (70)
8. Tripping circuit checking - remote position test (80)
9. NO / NC contact checking test (90)
lO.Metering and protection circuit checking test through 3-phase voltage and
current injection (100) 11. Customer specific test (110)
12.Balance voltage, balance current -no trip test (120) 13.Balance voltage, unbalance current - no trip test (130) 14.Unbalance voltage, balance current - no trip test (140)

Each test may have a range of parameters which are user-selectable or user-changeable. Thus, as the specifications of the panel to be tested changes, the settings means may allow changes to the auto test bench so that testing is done in accordance with those parameters,
In accordance with still another embodiment of this invention, there is provide an output means (OM) adapted to receive output from the panel which is to be tested.
In accordance with an additional embodiment of this invention, there is provided a control logic (CL) adapted to receive each output, check for validity of each output in accordance with pre-defined user setting, and to confirm validity or score of each test. If a test in the sequence of test fails, testing may stop, there itself. Or testing may continue and the passed test results and failed test results may be seen separately. The control logic may be a PLC control logic.
In accordance with yet an additional embodiment of this invention, there is provided an enunciator means (EM) adapted to annunciate results of each test by means of visual display or audio alarm or both.
The auto test bench is controlled and monitored by PLC logic controller (preprogrammed sequence) which conducts all the tests sequentially. It draws
