FIELD OF INVENTION
[001] This invention relates to an automatic ceiling fan controllable by motion, temperature, and mobile/Remote. The ceiling fan constituting smart phone is operated by mobile/Remote. 10
BACKGROUND/PRIOR ART
[002] Existing ceiling fans run at fixed speed as set by user and consume fixed amount of power which lies in high range of 70~80W. 15 They are not provided with any intelligence to control the speed on its own. Currently available ceiling fans are not having any features to control the fan speed through variable temperature and motion sensor. In the absence of automation, the fan is operated manually, which renders the same inflexible. Therefore it is not user friendly. 20
[003] As a result consumption of more electricity is caused thereby adding to electricity bill.

[004] In view of the above it is required to introduce an automatic ceiling fan controllable by mobile/Remote which can fulfill the requirements for which the present invention has been devised.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION 5
[005] An object of the present invention is to provide an automatic ceiling fan controllable by motion, temperature, and mobile/Remote which obviates the shortcomings of Present Invention.

[006] Another object of the present invention is to provide an automatic ceiling fan controllable by motion, temperature, and mobile/Remote which can automatically vary speed according to temperature.

[007] Further object of the present invention is to provide an automatic ceiling fan controllable by motion, temperature, and mobile/Remote which can sense presence and absence of human in the area of placement to automatically switch on and switch off.

[008] Yet another object of this invention is to propose an automatic ceiling fan controllable by motion, temperature, and mobile/Remote which is controllable through mobile and remote.

[009] According to this invention, there is provided an automatic ceiling fan controllable by motion, temperature and mobile/remote comprising a brushless direct current (BLDC) motor with PCB accommodated in a cover, wherein spindle of the fan is mounted with 5 LED mounting plate with a LED ring with heat sink therearound, wherein PCB mounting bracket is mounted on said LED mounting plate and LED diffuser is placed on the PCB mounting bracket.

[0011] The present invention makes disclosure in respect of an automatic ceiling fan controllable by motion, temperature and 5 mobile/remote for automatic operation and control thereof as per requirement by user.
[0012] The ceiling fan of invention is installed with an electronic system which controls the speed of the fan through a sensor for 10 sensing the temperature of environment. This feature gives the ease to end users for automatic change in the fan speed as per variation in temperature, which can be set by the user according to his comfort.
[0013] Further the ceiling fan can be automatically switched on/off by 15 sensing through motion sensor. Ceiling fan is automatically switched OFF after certain predefined time when occupant vacates the room as well as the fan is automatically switched ON when occupant enters inside the room. This feature avoids unnecessary running of the ceiling fan which ultimately saves the power and increases life of fan. 20
[0014] A particular time period for keeping the fan switched on can also be set in the fan timer for example 2, 4, 6, 8 hours. So that the fan gets automatically switched off after the preset time. This in turn avoids the unnecessary running of fan due to ignorance/ 25 unmindfulness to switch off the fan when it is not required.

[0015] The fan comprises a BLDC motor with multitude of blades.

[0016] In addition to the above, there is provision of LED light which is dimmable. This can be employed for variation in the intensity of light in the room as well as to improve the aestheticness of the fan.
[0017] The entire operation of the fan can be carried out by means of 10 mobile or Remote for ease in operation. The remote is having the option for setting the ceiling fan control as manual or automatic.
[0018] The fan is having the provision of Wi-Fi device which is used to connect the ceiling fan with the Mobile phone of the user. The ceiling 15 fan can be connected with the Mobile phone trough Wi-Fi available in the phone. Once the ceiling fan is connected through the Mobile phone of the user, fan can be controlled with the help of a particular application downloaded in the mobile.

[0019] The aforesaid features render the ceiling fan a smart ceiling fan.
[0020] Reference may be made to fig. 1 illustrating sectional view of the automatic ceiling fan of invention, exploded view of which is 25 shown in figure 2. The fan comprises a down rod (1), upper end of which is connected to shackle kit (2) and lower end of which is in connection with spindle (3) of fan.

[0021] The down-rod is covered by means of down-rod cover (4). There is provision of a top canopy (5) covering said kit (2) and a bottom 5 canopy (6).
[0022] In addition to the above, there is provided main PCB (7) held by means of main PCB holder (8) placed over a Brushless direct current (BLDC) motor including stator (9) and rotor (10), which is 10 accommodated in a cover consisting of top cover (T1) and bottom cover (T2).
[0023] The instant invention comprises a provision of LED mounting plate (11) which is mounted on the spindle (3). A LED ring with heat 15 sink (12) is placed on said mounting plate (11). The heat sink is fitted with LED to maintain required temperature for LED.
[0024] Further, a PCB mounting bracket (13) with PCB (14) is positioned on the mounting plate (11). 20
[0025] In conjunction with the above, there is provided LED diffuser (15) with LEDs therebehind, that is placed on the PCB mounting bracket (13). Again, a fresnel plate (16) being located on a mounting bracket (13) is mounted on said LED mounting plate (11) as 25 illustrated in the figure 2. Further, there is a decorative ring (17) on said diffuser (15), which is mounted on the bracket (13).

[0026] Now referring to figure 3 for operation of the smart fan of the 5 proposed application. Here, the ceiling fan (A1) draws power from the power source (B1). Now the user can operate the fan through Remote (C1). The sensor such as IR sensing available in ceiling fan receives the signal from remote and operate the fan. The smart phone (D1) can be connected to the ceiling fan with the help of Wi-Fi 10 communication mode (F1) available in ceiling fan and Wi-Fi in mobile itself. After connecting the smart phone to ceiling fan, the ceiling fan can operate through mobile phone application available in smart phone.

[0027] The fan of invention is having a control unit housing a plurality of sensors so as to receive input through mobile/remote in the form of signal and process the same through said PCB (14) for controlling the operation of fan according to the user need.

[0028] The sensors include motion sensor (G1), temperature sensor (I1) and a sensor such as infrared sensor for receiving input from remote/mobile. The motion sensor (G1) in the fan senses the presence of the occupant in the room. In case, there is no occupant in the room, the fan is automatically switched off, otherwise it 25 remains operational.

[0029] There is also availability of clock provision (H1) to synchronize 5 mobile clock with the fan, through which the time is automatically set in the fan once the mobile phone is connected to the fan.
[0030] The temperature sensor (I1) senses the environment temperature and controls the speed of fan accordingly. 10
[0031] There is also provision of LED indicator (J1) in the fan, which gives indication to user regarding improper operation of fan by user and smooth operation of fan as well. This is visible through the fresnel plate of fan. 15
[0032] The light intensity of the dimmable LED (K1) can be varied (increased or decreased) through the remote/mobile phone.
[0033] The arrangement for the dimmable LED has already been 20 explained with reference to features (11-15) of fan in figure 2.
Instructions to operate Smart Fan

SMART FAN FEATURES
• Press the ON or OFF Button from the remote. 5
• Tap the slider tab to desired level in Mobile App.
• The fan will automatically restart at the last operating speed upon connected to the power source.
2. Fan Speed change 10
• Fan speed can be changed in five steps, press buttons to increase and decrease the speed.
• Change in speed will be indicated by WHITE LED in fan (1 LED for 1st speed and 5 LED f 5th speed). 15
• Tap the slider tab to set the desired level of Fan Speed in Mobile App.
3. Operating the LED

• The LED will operate independently from the fan.
• Press the LED ON/OFF button from remote.
• For LED brightness, press buttons to increase and decrease the brightness.
• Tap the slider tab to desired level for ON/OFF in Mobile App. 25

• Tap the slider tab to set the desired level of LED brightness in Mobile App.

4. Timer mode:
• In timer mode the fan runs at a set speed until the programmed time period ends.
• To set the timer, press the timer button to increase and decrease 10 the time.
• Change in Timer hours will be indicated by Blinking of WHITE LED in fan (1 LED for 2 hrs and 4 LED for 8hrs).
• TIMER setting will be indicated by BLUE color LED in fan, along with white color LED. 15
• To exit TIMER mode press the Clear button.
• This feature is only available in Remote.
5. Breeze mode:

• In Breeze mode fan will change its speed automatically same as SHUFFLE MODE.
• In Breeze mode speed of fan will change from one speed 5 to another speed 2 and vice versa after every 30 sec.
• Breeze mode will be indicated by BLUE and GREEN LED. 25
• To exit BREEZE mode press the Clear button.

• Tap the Breeze button in Mobile App for natural breeze.
6. Sleep mode: 5
• Sleep mode reduces the fan speed by one step speed after every 1.5 hour until the lowest speed is reached and fan will continue to run at 1st speed.
• SLEEP mode will be indicated by GREEN LED in fan. 10
• To exit SLEEP mode press the Clear button.
• This Feature is only available in Remote.
7. TEMPERATURE SENSOR

• Activate SMART MODE in mobile and set desired temperature.
• Temperature sensor will be activated through phone application only.
• Consumer can fix the temperature between 15°C to 30°C. Fan will run at first speed at set temperature. 20
For example, if consumer sets temperature 20°C it means fan will run at first speed when room
temperature reaches to 20°C. Speed of fan will be controlled by temperature.
• In Smart fan there will be no effect on LED. LED will be ON / OFF 25 as per customer setting.

• Ideal temperature can be selected thru Wheel selector in mobile application.
• Customer can’t change the Fan Speed when Smart Mode is Active. 5 If Customer tries to change the Fan Speed, POP-UP will come as warning.
8. Motion sensor

• The motion Sensor detects motion when one enters or leaves the room and will turn ON / OFF fan , light, or y y g , both.
• The motion sensor can be scheduled to turn ON / OFF as per set time by consumer thru mobile app.
• Time in minutes and hours can be set manually by consumer thru 15 Mobile app for duration of 1 minute to 24 hours.
• In Mobile App there is an option to select the time for each day at which MOTION SENSOR will be enabled & customer can save it.
9. Scheduling 20
• The Scheduling features allow to schedule fan events based on the features user desires to enable or disable at a specific time of the day or for specified days of the week.

10. Reset
• Fan will reset. All the Alarms , Schedule Events lists get cleared. 5
• Fan will start to run at maximum speed with maximum light intensity.
11. Wake Up Alarm and Gradual Awake.

• One can set the alarm feature to wake up at scheduled time. Consumer can select the Alarm time, Fan/Light OFF at set time, Buzzer ON at Set time. Alarm setting can be done for Fan Speed, light, sound, or any combination thereof.

• Gradual Awake feature will increase the fan speed and light brightness to maximum level.
• Procedure for setting alarm feature: Toggle - Enable alarm, Set alarm time, Set time for FAN OFF time, Select
days on which the alarm should be enabled. 20
• There is SNOOZE feature with selection for Snooze time. Snooze will be active at set alarm time. Mobile App for Stop alarm will be active at Set alarm time. To turn off sounding alarm, tap off in the app or press the power button on the remote. This will turn OFF the alarm for that particular day, however it will not disable the alarm from the 25 sounding on other scheduled or prevent it days.

• To disable the Schedule alarm, toggle enabled to disabled position.
12. Connect to Home Network

• If multiple fans are installed in a room, then Smart Fan recommends Grouping option to control them.
• In a group, only ON/OFF feature is in application.
• Only 8 fans can be grouped without router.

Special Features:
• Buzzer will beep with press of each remote button.
• RED color LED in Remote will glow with press of each remote button. 15
• All LED will get off automatically after 30 sec.
• Buzzer will beep with press of each tap in App, facility to disable the
beep.
• If LED Indication irritates, one can disable the LED indications.
• Fan and Mobile time will be synchronized automatically. 20
[0034] It is to be noted that the present invention is susceptible to modifications, adaptations and changes by those skilled in the art. Such variant embodiments employing the concepts and features of this invention are intended to be within the scope of the present 25 invention, which is further set forth under the following claims:-

1. An automatic ceiling fan controllable by motion, temperature and mobile/remote comprising a brushless 5 direct current (BLDC) motor with PCB accommodated in a cover, wherein spindle of the fan is mounted with LED mounting plate with a LED ring with heat sink therearound, wherein PCB mounting bracket is mounted on said LED mounting plate and LED diffuser is placed on the PCB 10 mounting bracket.
2. An automatic ceiling fan controllable by motion, temperature and mobile/remote as claimed in claim 1, wherein the LED ring with heat sink is placed on said LED 15 mounting plate.
3. An automatic ceiling fan controllable by motion, temperature and mobile/remote as claimed in claim 1 or 2, wherein the PCB mounting bracket holds a PCB for fan. 20

An automatic ceiling fan controllable by motion, temperature and mobile/remote as claimed in any of the preceding claims wherein a fresnel plate being located on a 5 mounting bracket is mounted on said LED mounting plate fitted with the LED ring with heat sink and a decorative ring is positioned on said diffuser.

An automatic ceiling fan controllable by motion, 10 temperature and mobile/remote as claimed in any of the preceding claims comprising of a control unit housing a plurality of sensors so as to receive input through mobile/remote and process the same through said PCB for controlling the operation of fan according to the user need. 15
6. An automatic ceiling fan controllable by motion, temperature and mobile/remote as claimed in any of the preceding claims wherein the sensors include motion sensor, temperature sensor and a sensor to receive user 20 input via a remote/mobile.

An automatic ceiling fan controllable by motion, temperature and mobile/remote as claimed in any of the preceding claims wherein the motion sensor senses the 5 presence/absence of the occupant in the room and switches on/off the fan accordingly and the temperature sensor senses the environment temperature and controls the speed of fan accordingly.

An automatic ceiling fan controllable by motion, temperature and mobile/remote as claimed in any of the preceding claims wherein the control unit is having clock provision to synchronize mobile clock with the fan, through which the time is automatically set in the fan once the 15 mobile phone is connected to the fan.
9. An automatic ceiling fan controllable by motion, temperature and mobile/remote as claimed in any of the preceding claims comprising of LED indicator, which gives 20 indication to user regarding improper operation of fan by user and smooth operation of fan as well.

An automatic ceiling fan controllable by motion, 5 temperature and mobile/remote as claimed in any of the preceding claims, wherein the smart phone can be connected to the ceiling fan with the help of Wi-Fi communication mode in ceiling fan and Wi-Fi in said mobile, in which the fan is operational through the mobile 10 phone application in the smart phone.
