FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention relates to an automatic system for vehicle variants check.
PRIOR ART
Currently, vehicle variants check is carried out manually by appearance inspectors through their experience/by remembering the check points with the help of MOS (Maruti operating standards). Confirmation of the check is operator's stamp on the check sheet for the respective parameter. The check sheet is shown in fig. 1.
In practice, appearance inspectors are taught regarding which variants to check in each model of vehicles. Hence, vehicle variants are checked depending upon the inspector's experience/memory. Hence, such a manual system is always having chances that, vehicles with wrong parts may flow to market if left unnoticed by the inspectors due to no confirmation of check done.
Hence, there is requirement of an automatic system so as to address the aforesaid drawbacks.
Now, reference may be made to JP 63117238. This invention relates to control system for automobile inspection line in which data of vehicles to be managed are stored into a memory 7 beforehand. Number of a vehicle to be inspected is inputted into a control panel 10 to select owner, name thereof, details of inspection and checking items and criteria corresponding to the details thereof for the vehicle

from the memory 7. A line operational controller 2 judges acceptance from the results of measurement with measuring devices on a line and when rejection is proved, the selection of parts to be changed is executed through the memory 7.; A display device 8 shows checking items, color coded results of measurement and a list of change parts by a command from the operational controller 2 and a recorder 9 records address, name, details of automobile inspection, results of judgement and a change part list by a command from the operational controller 2. Host operational controllers 12 and 13 perform a centralized data management according to a data transmitted from the operational controller 2.
However, the above mentioned known art can't serve the purpose for which the instant invention has been designed.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
The primary object of the present invention is to propose an automatic system for vehicle variants check which obviates disadvantages associated with the known art.
Another object of the present invention is to propose an automatic system for vehicle variants check which is simple in construction and efficient.
Further object of the present invention is to propose an automatic system for vehicle variants check which prevents installation of wrong parts in vehicle.
Yet another object of the present invention is to propose an automatic system for vehicle variants check in which software based confirmation of check is done for accuracy.

STATEMENT OF INVENTION
According to this invention, there is provided an automatic system for vehicle variants check comprising of a computer installed with master data for different models of vehicles provided in connection with vehicle tracking system with a display.

DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH REFERENCE TO THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS;
The instant invention is directed to an automatic system for vehicle variants check. Said automatic system comprising of a computer installed with master data for different models of vehicles.
Said computer is provided in connection with a vehicle tracking system (VTS). The master data is converted into pictorial questionnaire to be displayed on the screen (as shown in fig. 2) at respective station of check point.

Steps for vehicle variants check are given hereinbelowr-
1.' Barcode of vehicle is fed to vehicle tracking system by means of scanner.
2. Checking of each part of vehicle physically by the inspector.
3. Feeding the input regarding each part to the system with the help of remote/barcode scanner.
4. Communication of said system with the computer containing master data.
5. Identification of vehicle variant through VTS and loading of corresponding questionnaire.
6. Presentation of corresponding images of part to the operator in the form of multiple choice questions as shown in fig. 2.
7. Selection by the operator out of the choices.
8. Selection of the alternative by the operator if observed visually in the vehicle.
9. Saving of the selected item in the system.
10. The system for comparison and verification of the inputs with the master data followed by confirmation and saving of the results in VTS.
11. Upon completing the check, the operator is notified about unacceptable input for review.
12. Entry in the check sheet accordingly.
In case of unacceptable input, the vehicle is again sent to the respective station for repair followed by variant check as mentioned hereinabove for confirmation before delivery the genuine product to the market for sell.
The master data is prepared on the basis of maruti operating standards (MOS). However, an exemplary embodiment of the check sheet is as follows:-

It is to be noted that the present invention is susceptible to modifications, adaptations and changes by those skilled in the art. Such variant embodiments employing the concepts and features of this invention are intended to be within the scope of the present invention, which is further set forth under the following claims:-

WE CLAIM;
1. An automatic system for vehicle variants check comprising of a computer installed with master data for different models of vehicles provided in connection with vehicle tracking system with a display.
2. An automatic system as claimed in claim 1, wherein said display displays master data in the form of pictorial questionnaire at the respective station of check point.
3. An automatic system as claimed in claim 1 or 2, wherein the vehicle tracking system is fed with input regarding each part by means of remote/barcode scanner, which is linked with said computer.
4. An automatic system as claimed in claim 3, wherein the vehicle tracking system displays corresponding images of part to the operator in the form of multiple choice questions followed by selection by the operator including selection of the alternative if observed in the vehicle.
5. An automatic system as claimed in claim 4, wherein the vehicle tracking system confirms after verification including notification regarding unacceptable input for review such as herein described, which is indicated in check sheet.

6. An automatic system as claimed in any of the preceding claims, wherein the master data is prepared on the basis of operating standards.
