The present disclosure described herein, in general, relates to mounting means for speakers in automotive vehicles, and more particularly relates to a garnish bracket assembly provided on an inner side of a front door of the automotive vehicles for rigidly and efficiently mounting speakers.
BACKGROUND
[0002] Garnish bracket is provided at a front door of a vehicle to cover a rear portion of an outside rear view mirror mounted towards outside the vehicle. The garnish bracket, nowadays, is also used for mounting speakers, say, tweeters. The speaker generally vibrates while producing the sound and transmits the sound in different directions in a staggered manner. Such vibrations may add unwanted noise to the sound produced by the tweeter and deteriorate the sound quality. Therefore, there is a requirement of proper placement and fitment of the speaker inside the garnish bracket. In other words, proper gap or level difference is required to be maintained in between the garnish bracket and the speaker.
[0003] Also, in terms of safety, structure of the garnish bracket as well as an attachment between the garnish bracket and the speaker are of major concern. Generally, in existing vehicles, during the vehicle crash, the speaker gets easily detached from the garnish bracket as it is snap-fitted with the garnish bracket and may fly-off, for example, and hit a driver or a co-passenger sitting on front seats of the vehicle.
[0004] In addition, the aesthetic look of vehicle cabin is also important. Hence, proper gap or level difference needs to be maintained between the garnish bracket and the speaker mounted inside the garnish bracket.
[0005] Some of the prior arts propose different types of assemblies for mounting speakers. But, they are not considered as highly effective and reliable.
[0006] Hence, there is a need of a garnish bracket assembly that helps in effective placement and fitment of speakers inside the garnish bracket provided at an inner side of the front doors of the vehicle.
OBJECTS OF THE DISCLOSURE
[0007] Some of the objects of the present disclosure, which at least one for embodiment herein satisfy, are listed herein below.

The garnish bracket 104 further comprises a plurality of semi-cylindrical hollow members 104-H1, 104-H2 protruding towards a door mirror and formed diagonally opposite on the peripheral surface of the circular open portion 104-P. It also includes a plurality of
snap recesses 104-SR1, 104-SR2 formed near to the semi-cylindrical hollow members 104-H1, 104-H2 and also placed diagonally opposite on the peripheral surface of the circular open portion 104-P. A plurality of recesses 104-RE1, 104-RE2, and 104-RE3 are also formed adjacent to the vertical extending legs 104-L1, 104-L2, 104-L3 of the garnish bracket 104.
[0045] While assembling the cap 102 inside the garnish bracket 104 as shown in the FIG. 2, the plurality of semi-cylindrical hollow members 104-H1,104-H2 allows the plurality of bosses 102-B1.102-B2 of the cap 102 to pass through the respective semi-cylindrical hollow members 104-1-11,104-H2. In addition, the plurality of snap recesses 104-SR1, 104-SR2 that are formed diagonally opposite on the peripheral surface of the circular open portion 104-P helps in receiving and locking the plurality of snap locks 102-S1, 102-S2 of the circular cap 102. Moreover, a plurality of recesses 104-RE1, 104-RE2, 104-RE3 formed adjacent or in front of the vertical extending legs 104-L1, 104-L2, 104-L3 of the garnish bracket 104 helps in effectively receiving the legs 102-L1, 102-L2, 102-L3 of the cap 102 that are adjacent to the legs of the garnish bracket 104 and are welded to one another to provide a rigid connection. These weld joints along with the snaps tighten the cap and the garnish bracket in such a manner that it avoids loosening between the cap and the garnish bracket so that no noise is created and this assembly can also withstand vibrations of the tweeter. These joints act as a rigid joints and do not allow parts to fly off during vehicle crash test.
[0046] FIG. 3 depicts the various ribs formed on the cap that helps in preventing unwanted gap and level difference between the cap 102 and the garnish bracket 104 and also restricts the movement of the cap 102. The cap 102 mentioned in the present disclosure includes at least four ribs 102-R1, 102-R2, 102-R3, 102-R4 formed equidistant on an outer circumferential surface of one of the plurality of bosses 102-B1, and a rib
102-R9 is added to one of the snaps 102-S2 to maintain a zero touch of the outer circumferential surfaces of the plurality of bosses 102-B1 with an inner circumferential surfaces of the plurality of semi-cylindrical hollow members 104-H1,104-H2 of the garnish bracket 104. The cap 102 further comprises ribs 102-R5,102-R6,102-R7,102-R8 on each side of each of the plurality of snap locks 102-S1,102-S2 to maintain a zero touch of the plurality of snap locks 102-S1,102-S2 within the plurality of snap recesses 104-SR1.104-SR2 of the garnish bracket 104.
[0047] FIG. 4 depicts the mounting of the speaker 106 over the garnish bracket assembly 100 that is a combination of the cap 102 and the garnish bracket 104. Here, the top edges of the semi-cylindrical hollow members 104-H1, 104-H2 of the garnish bracket 104 act as a resting surface for mounting holes provided on the inner side of the speaker 106. A rib 104-R is also formed at the circumference of the semi-cylindrical hollow member 104-H2 provided at a right side of the garnish bracket 104 that act as a locating rib that helps in accommodating the speaker 106 in the required position. It further comprises two fasteners 106-F1, 106-F2 (shown in FIG. 5) passing through the mounting holes resting on the semi-cylindrical hollow members 104-H1, 104-H2 of the garnish bracket 104, and locking into the respective bosses 102-B1, 102-B2 of the cap 102 to tightly lock the speaker 106, the garnish bracket 104, and the cap 102. This speaker is also called as a tweeter speaker.
[0048] FIG. 5 depicts the cross-sectional view of the garnish bracket assembly 100 along the A-A direction. This cross-sectional view depicts the ribs 104-R2, 104-R4 formed on the outer circumference of the semi-cylindrical hollow members 104-H1 of the garnish bracket 104 that restricts the movement of the speaker 106 in X-direction. In addition, the ribs 104-R5, 104-R6 are also provided at the innermost side of the cap 102 that restricts the movement of the speaker 106 in Y-direction and also avoid the sound leakage. It also depicts the fasteners 106-F1, 106-F2
such as screws that are inserted inside the hole provided on the speaker 106 and the boss provided on the cap 102 and the semi-cylindrical hollow members of the garnish bracket 104 to provide a rigid connection between the speaker 106, garnish bracket 104 and the cap 102.
[0049] FIG. 6 depicts the cross-sectional view of the garnish bracket assembly 100 along the B-B direction. This cross-sectional view depicts the snap locks 102-S1, 102-S2 provided on the cap 102 that are inserted inside the snap recess 104-SR1, 104-SR2 provided on the garnish bracket 104 to accommodate the cap 102 properly. This snap locks 102-S1, 102-S2 restricts the movement of the cap in Y-direction.
[0050] FIG. 7 depicts the cross-sectional view of the garnish bracket assembly 100 along the C-C direction. This cross-sectional view depicts the complete assembly 100 having connection between the cap 102, the speaker 106 and the garnish bracket 104 through the fasteners such as screws 106-F1, 106-F2.
[0051] Thus, with the proposed automotive garnish bracket assembly 100 that is used for mounting the speaker 106, as described in the present disclosure, various technical problems of the state of the art are resolved.
