The system includes: (a) Smart ironing Cart wherein the ironing cart includes: (i) an ironing floor for ironing the clothes with provision for placing the Iron box; (ii) an adjustable solar roof to provide adequate power and shade; (iii) Advanced control strategy with power backup to control the solar powered ironing cart; (iv) sliding chair to avoid prolonged standing; (v) Storage racks to keep clothes, iron box and battery; (vi) Special lever arrangement for moving the cart in curved paths along with braking system; (vii) automated Sensor based rain guard arrangement to safeguard the cloth from black spot during rainy season and (b) Mobile Application with gadget in regional languages for ease accessibility between customer and dhobi.
People in town are busy with their work schedule and feel difficult to iron their clothes; So many people depend on dhobis to iron their clothes. In the present scenario very few are doing this profession because of health issues caused by smoke from burning charcoal & arthritis problem, operational challenges due to uncontrolled heat in iron box, burning of charcoal is not possible during rainy season, Dhobis are not able to reach the customer when they are in need, Spilling of coal pieces may damage clothes which results in customer dissatisfaction. Because of these issues the regular income of dhobi gets affected and also nearly 70% of their income is used for purchase of raw material.
This present invention aims to develop a Solar powered Smart Ironing Cart to improve the economic status and health of the dhobis with Solar powered iron box to reduce heavy weight, eliminate health hazards, cloth damages due to smoke and
sparklers. Advanced control strategy with power backup, helps the dhobi to use the
——
system throughout the day in all season. User friendly Mobile-Apps with gadget in regional languages provide ease accessibility between customer and dhobi. Adjustable solar roof, ironing floor, automatic rain guard and sliding chair to avoid prolonged standing. Storage racks to keep clothes, iron box and battery. Special lever arrangement for moving the cart in curved paths along with braking was designed. Sensor based rain guard arrangement is provided, which safeguards the cloth from black spot during rainy season.
4. DESCRIPTION:
The present invention comprises of mainly four sub-systems
■ Solar PV System
■ Mobile Application
■ Rain Guard System
■ Smart Ironing Cart
Solar PV System:
■ Solar powered electric iron box consumes less than 150 Watts, no special skill for ironing is required and it's less weight and compact design avoids many health issues.
■ Uninterrupted working is possible using Solar powered iron box irrespective of season and raw material.
■ 350 watts polycrystalline type of solar panel is used; it provides maximum efficiency of 18%.Maximum output current and voltage from the panel is 9.1A and 51.8V.
■ Panel can generate maximum of 2 units per day. Panel requires an area of 2 m (77.8 x 38.98 * 0.24 inches). Solar panel provides required energy and also it act as roof for protecting the dhobis from sunlight thereby reducing tiredness and increasing working efficiency.
■ Advanced Embedded system is used to control the solar powered dhobi cart. Charge controller prevents the system from complete draining of battery and performs controlled discharges.
■ MPPT based 15 ampere Charge controller is implemented, since maximum output from the solar panel is 9.1 A.
■ 300 watts inverter is requiredto run other devices like light, fan, mobile charger and other small appliances.
■ Launderers can use the solar powered iron box during night and rainy periods; hence battery capacity of 12 V, 450Ahr is designed with 2 days backup.
Mobile Application
• Mobile application will reduce the time delay of dhobis for getting the orders.
■ Customer can easily locate the nearby dhobi through mobile app and place their orders.
■ Customer has to enter the details like their name, address, phone number, avail time and the product details.
■ They have to select the dhobi based on the nearest location and his/her availability and send the message.
■ While the dhobi view the message, send the respond message to the customer as ok or cancel based on his availability.
Rain Guard System
■ The system consists of Processor, Rain sensor modules, shutter rolling motors, driver circuit and human identification sensors.
■ Rain sensor module (RSM) and is fixed on the every side of the cart.RSM senses the rain level continuously and send the data to the processor.
■ The processor read the received data and if the range exceeds it activates the rain guard automatically with alarm through the motor driver circuit.
Smart Ironing Cart
■ The smart Iron cart consists of ironing floor, adjustable solar roof, rack arrangement, sliding chair and rain guard.
■ The roof of the cart is made of solar panel of dimension 2000 x 1000 mm with adjustable knob for adjusting the roof angle based on location.
■ The ironing floor is used for ironing the clothes with provision for placing the
■
Iron box.
■ All the four sides of the cart are made with sensor based rain guard arrangement.
■ The mobile app with gadget is placed in the centre of the cart for easy accessibility of dhobi.
■ Three racks are made below the ironing floor between front and rear wheel. Two racks for keeping the clothes which needs to be ironed and the ironed dress. The middle rack was used for keeping the battery and the control panel for controlling the overall operations.
■ A compatible sliding seat is provided at the centre of cart below the ironing floor which can be utilized at times of requirement.
■ Special lever arrangement is designed to control the angular movements of dhobi cart.
