Tejas Networks Limited
2nd floor  GNR Tech Park  46/4  Garbebhavi Palya
Kudlu Gate  Hosur main road
Bangalore 560 068  Karnataka  India

The following specification particularly describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.

Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to High dense cards. More particularly  the invention relates to Ejection and Injection mechanism for High dense cards.

Background of the Invention
High dense cards with Connectors are well known in the art. Usually the connector includes a housing provided with contacts and mounted to the housing is at least one ejector mechanism which serves as a lever for moving the boards out of the housing upon pivoting of the ejector in a downward direction. The ejectors also play a key role in keeping the boards locked  and preventing the boards from being inadvertently disconnected.
However  the existing ejectors require a lot of force to be applied for operating the mechanism. Further  the ejectors have a complicated design for operation.
In view of the above mentioned problems it is required to provide a mechanism that overcomes the short comings associated with the prior arts.

Summary of the Invention
Accordingly  the present invention provides an ejection mechanism for high dense cards  comprising an elongated body portion of a panel  an ejector adapted to the panel wherein the ejector includes at least two parallel levers connected through at least one bar  the levers of the ejector devised to generate adequate force for ejecting the high dense card.

In an embodiment the present invention provides an injection mechanism for high dense cards  comprising an elongated body portion of a panel  an injector adapted to the panel wherein the injector includes at least two parallel levers connected through at least one bar  the levers of the injector devised to generate adequate force for injecting the high dense card.

Brief description of the drawings

Reference will be made to embodiments of the invention  examples of which may be illustrated in the accompanying figures. These figures are intended to be illustrative  not limiting. Although the invention is generally described in the context of these embodiments  it should be understood that it is not intended to limit the scope of the invention to these particular embodiments.

[001] Fig. 1 shows an ejection and injection mechanism for a high dense card with connectors in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention.
Description of the Invention
The following description with reference to the accompanying drawings is provided to assist in a comprehensive understanding of exemplary embodiments of the invention as defined by the claims and their equivalents. It includes various specific details to assist in that understanding but these are to be regarded as merely exemplary. Accordingly  those of ordinary skill in the art will recognize that various changes and modifications of the embodiments described herein can be made without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention. In addition  descriptions of well-known functions and constructions are omitted for clarity and conciseness.

The terms and words used in the following description and claims are not limited to the bibliographical meanings  but  are merely used by the inventor to enable a clear and consistent understanding of the invention. Accordingly  it should be apparent to those skilled in the art that the following description of exemplary embodiments of the present invention are provided for illustration purpose only and not for the purpose of limiting the invention as defined by the appended claims and their equivalents.

It is to be understood that the singular forms “a ” “an ” and “the” include plural referents unless the context clearly dictates otherwise.

Various embodiments of the present invention provides an ejection mechanism for high dense cards  comprising an elongated body portion of a panel; an ejector adapted to the panel wherein the ejector includes at least two parallel levers connected through at least one bar  the levers of the ejector devised to generate adequate force for ejecting the high dense card.

In an embodiment the present invention provides an injection mechanism for high dense cards  comprising: an elongated body portion of a panel; an injector adapted to the panel wherein the injector includes at least two parallel levers connected through at least one bar  the levers of the injector devised to generate adequate force for injecting the high dense card.

Fig. 1 shows a high dense card connector 100 with ejection mechanism in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. The ejection mechanism includes an elongated body portion of a panel 110  and an ejector 120 adapted to the panel 110. The ejector 120 includes at least two parallel levers (122  124) connected through at least one bar 126. The levers 122 of the ejector 120 are devised to generate adequate force for ejecting the high dense cards.

In an embodiment  the force is equally distributed to both the levers (122  124).

In an embodiment  length of the bar 126 is devised according to length of the levers (122  124).

In an embodiment  the bar 126 is connected to the levers (122  124) through screwing means 130.

In an embodiment  the levers (122  124) extend outwardly from a first end (122a  124a) for enabling ease in operating the ejector 120.
In an embodiment  the levers (122  124) have a laterally extending tooth each at a second end (122b  124b) for engaging with a corresponding surface of the panel 110 of the high dense card.

In an embodiment  when a force is applied to the levers (122  124) of the ejector (120) by lifting the levers from the first ends (122a  124a)  the levers (122  124) are released from their resting position  thereby ejecting the cards.

In an embodiment  once the levers (122  124) are lifted  the bar 126 is used for Jack in Jack out (JIJO) operation by the ejector/injector.

In an embodiment  when a force is applied to the levers (122  124) of the injector by pushing the levers (122  124) to a resting position on the panel 110  cards are injected.

In an advantageous aspect  the ejection and injection mechanism of the present invention requires less force to be applied for operating the levers as the surface area of the levers is provided accordingly for equally distributing the force on both the levers thereby enabling ease of operation.

While the foregoing is directed to embodiments of the present invention  other and further embodiments of the invention may be devised without departing from the basic scope thereof  and the scope thereof is determined by the claims that follow.
We Claim
