DESC:EARLIEST PRIORITY DATE:
This Application claims priority from a Provisional patent application filed in India having Patent Application No. 202141052654, filed on November 17, 2021, and titled “A TWO-WHEELER VEHICLE WITH STORAGE COMPARTMENT”.
FIELD OF INVENTION
[0001] Embodiments of the present disclosure relates to an electric vehicle, and more particularly to an electric vehicle with a storage compartment.
BACKGROUND
[0002] Electric vehicles often incorporate storage compartments so that any rider can safely and securely transport items or luggage. Some storage compartments are attached to side of a rear wheel of a two-wheeler, while in some instances the storage compartments are mounted above the rear wheel.
[0003] Generally, the storage compartments are available in a variety of sizes, depending on the need. Some may be sufficient enough to accommodate gear for an extended road trip, while others may be relatively small to accommodate just enough gear for a day trip.
[0004] In a typical case, positioning of the storage compartments plays an important role as the storage compartments in the electric vehicle introduces weight distribution and balance problems. Uneven weight distribution may cause the vehicle handling complications. Such storage compartments should be adequately positioned to minimize such handling complications.
[0005] Furthermore, the rider needs a closed storage compartment to carry the items or the luggage securely. Conventional storage compartments are generally customized as open luggage carrier.
[0006] Hence, there is a need for an electric vehicle with a storage compartment and therefore address the aforementioned issues.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
[0007] In accordance with one embodiment of the disclosure, an electric vehicle with storage compartment is disclosed. The electric vehicle includes a front body portion. The front body portion is connected longitudinally from a neck stem to a proximal pivot end of a back body portion. The back body portion is connected to the front body portion via the proximal pivot end and extending longitudinally to a back seat point of a predesigned rectangular seat support frame.
[0008] The pre-designed rectangular seat support frame is mechanically connected to one or more attachment tubes of the electric vehicle chassis. The front body portion includes the removable seat. The removable seat is mechanically connected to the pre- designed rectangular seat support frame. The front body portion also includes a storage compartment of pre-defined dimension. The storage compartment is disposed beneath the removable seat.
[0009] To further clarify the advantages and features of the present disclosure, a more particular description of the disclosure will follow by reference to specific embodiments thereof, which are illustrated in the appended figures. It is to be appreciated that these figures depict only typical embodiments of the disclosure and are therefore not to be considered limiting in scope. [0033] FIG. 5 is a rear perspective view of an exemplary electric vehicle depicting the removable seat 500 attached to the storage compartment, in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG. 6 is a side view of the electric vehicle depicting the removable seat attached to the storage compartment 600, in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0034] The storage compartment 204 is fabricated to form the basket for storing luggage or materials. The storage compartment 204 comprises a front wall section, a rear wall section, two opposite side wall sections and a sloping bottom wall section. The storage compartment 204 extends longitudinally from the proximal pivot end 108 to the back seat point 120 of the predesigned rectangular seat support frame 116.
[0035] Furthermore, the storage compartment 204 also comprises one or more joints 206. The one or more joints 206 are predisposed at pre-defined positions over the storage compartment 204 outer surface. In such embodiment, the one or more joints 206 help in mechanical coupling the storage compartment 204 with the back body portion 104. In one embodiment, the storage compartment 204 is mechanically coupled to the back body portion 104 on the rear side by a plurality of screw joints (502).
[0036] FIG. 7 is a top view of the electric vehicle depicting the removable seat attached to the storage compartment 700, in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG. 8 is a sectional view 800 of a pre-designed rectangular seat support frame 116 in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. In operation, a user may open the latch hook 404 located in the proximal pivot end 108 from outside. Upon opening of the latch hook 404, the user may manually remove the seat positioned over the pre-designed rectangular seat support frame 116. In such embodiment, the user may access and store gear in the exposed basket. The user may again close the basket with the removable seat latching operation. FIG. 9 is a top view of storage compartment 900, in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. The figure showcase longitudinally the storage compartment 204 along with the predesigned rectangular seat support frame 116.
[0037] Various embodiments of the present embodiment disclose a storage compartment 204 associated with the electric vehicle. The storage compartment 204 is located just beneath the removable seat 202 of the electric vehicle. The compact design provides the rider with ample storage space without disturbing weight distribution of the electric vehicle.
[0038] The figures and the foregoing description give examples of embodiments. Those skilled in the art will appreciate that one or more of the described elements may well be combined into a single functional element. Alternatively, certain elements may be split into multiple functional elements. Elements from one embodiment may be added to another embodiment.
