Abstract: The present invention relates to an electronic device to control and monitor water pumps and other devices through the operation of a remote. It consists of a microprocessor based electronic unit with GPRS modem and mobile app which is capable to retrieve all data through wire free communication established via GPRS/GSM connectivity. This is how the two way communication develops which allows to send commands remotely to control the pumps with connected electrical equipment and devices.
Field of the invention
The present invention is related to an electronic device to control and monitor water pumps and other electric devices through the operation of a remote. The device is designed as an integrated system based on re-engineered processes and best fit automation interventions.
Background of the invention
For the operation of pumps for water supply to the public by Municipalities and water supply bodies, it is difficult to operate the pumps on different supply timings and further monitor the data.
At Municipalities/Water Supply Bodies a no. of pumps (may be in thousands) installed in a city, and as of now all the pumps are being operate and maintain manually, which is very difficult to do in efficient way. Further it is difficult to protect the pumps from various issues generated due to the poor power supply and water table in borewells, and also schedule the preventive maintenance in absence of data. These issue also faced by farmers too.
Objective of Invention
The main object of the present invention is to provide ease to control the conventional grid tide and solar pumps remotely and to perform real time remote monitoring of irrigation and drinking water supply arrangements.
Another object of the present invention is to bring the accountability in the system and services to enforce supervisory control in the overall system for effective utilization water resources and power.
One another object of present invention is to monitor the water availability on near real time basis and supply situation and to provide alert in case of deviation from set parameters. Further another object of present invention to provide significant opportunities for item – based process improvement and innovation virtually in every stage of the functioning of water network.
Further another object of the present invention is to run most efficient tube wells based on ground water and area wise demand.
Significance of the invention

Brief description of the invention
1. According to the present invention, an electronic device to control and monitor water pumps and other electric devices
through the operation of a remote comprises monitoring system, Microprocessor,Micro controller, GPRS/GSM/GPS Chip, GSM Antenna, GPS Antenna, SD Card, SMPS Circuit, Sim Holder, Connectors, LCD/LED Display, Push Button/Keypad, Web/Mobile Application software, Miscellaneous Electronic Components like Resistance, Capacitance, Inductance, Diode, Transistor, Zener, Rectifier, Enclosure & Terminal.
2. Another embodiment of the invention, remote, a device which is capable to control the pump and any process equipment by mobile application and website.
3. Another embodiment of the invention, microprocessor which communicate through GPRS technology with the centralized server or any mobile device.
4. Another embodiment of the invention, microcontroller that retrieve the real time data processing and after calculations and calibrations necessary data being transmitted to static IP (Internet Protocol) based cloud server.
5. Another embodiment of the invention, GPRS/GSM/GPS chip that facilitates the transmission of real time data to the cloud server and track the location of device and place of use.
6. Another embodiment of the invention, LCD/LED display the valuable data in the form of meaningful reports, graphs and bar charts.
7. Another embodiment of the invention, SD card which is an inbuilt memory chip and have the storage capacity of minimum 1000 records of various parameters which are being logged in web/cloud based database during network failure.
8. Another embodiment of the invention, SMPS circuit is an electronic power supply that incorporates a switching regulator to convert electrical power supply efficiently.
9. Another embodiment of the invention, the monitoring system designed mainly to work on RS485 serial communication with the inverter, flow meter, energy meter, and other field instruments, and signal interface for sensors, safety devices with digital/analog input/output.
Description of the invention
This device is a microprocessor based unit which communicate through GPRS technology with the centralized server or any mobile devices.
This device can be attached with any kind of pump control (Star Delta/DOL) unit or solar pump control unit, and this will be connected with GPRS Technology (SIM), to the centralized server for the operation and data monitoring. This device will consists a microprocessor based electronic unit with GPRS Modem, along with this a dedicated web based software and mobile app will
also be part of this device which have unique feature of customer login.
Customers like Municipality, Public Health and Engineering Departments, Water Supply Boards etc can operate the Number of pumps through Mobile Application or Web, further they can also decide the various supply times remotely for each pump. They can plan there supply based on the populations and seasons. Consistent monitoring of the data like Ampere, Voltage, Power, power Factor can be done through web based software which will help customer to maintain the efficiency of the pumping system, as well as schedule the preventive maintenance.
The device has web based application software for the whole organization to see what they have done. They will never have to buy software for any PC or Laptops, no matter how many users want to look at data or access the system. Using the Internet and secured, multilayer password protected web portal; one can collect information from home office, or anywhere else all without any user or client licenses.
All relevant field data can be viewed at the powerful Web Based Application Software hosted at Central Server located at remote location by all divisions and subdivisions for their meaningful reports and alarms with enhanced aggregation of data at Head office levels. This data can be viewed in the form of meaningful
reports, graphs and bar charts. A complete history of data can be maintained enabling in-depth analysis of the field data. This data can be very helpful in preventive maintenance of the costly field equipment. Any alarming condition that may develop at site will be immediately communicated by way of SMS generated by through web based software on the mobile phones of the concerned officer/customer. The officer/customer then can take immediate action to correct the problem resulting in minimum downtime. The device also ensures adequate protections against SPP failure, overload, over voltage conditions.
For the farmers it is easy to operate the pumps from their residence by IVRS Call/Mobile app/SMS, as in rural areas electricity for agriculture normally available in night times. Further farmers can also schedule auto start of pumps based on water requirement of Crop.
The present invention comprising of Micro controller, GPRS/GSM/GPS Chip, GSM Antenna, GPS Antenna, SD Card, SMPS Circuit, Sim Holder, Connectors, LCD/LED Display, Push Button/Keypad, GSM Antenna, Web/Mobile Application software, Miscellaneous Electronic Components like Resistance, Capacitance, Inductance, Diode, Transistor, Zener, Rectifier, Enclosure & Terminal.
System Functioning
The remote Control & Monitoring System designed mainly to work on RS485 serial communication with the Inverter, Flow Meter, Energy Meter & other Field instrument, and Signal Interface for Sensors, Safety Devices with Digital/Analog Input/Outputs, the Microcontroller work to retrieve the real time data processing & after calculations & calibrations necessary data being transmitted to Static IP Based Cloud Server by inbuilt GPRS/GSM chip, the Mobile & web based Application Software is capable to retrieve all data, along with Historical trend, Graphical reports & real time Data. All this being through wire free communication established via GPRS/GSM connectivity. The Two Way Communication allows us to send the Commands Remotely, to control the Pumps with required & connected electrical equipment & Devices.
In addition of its brief working principle as shown in system architecture, the Detail working of system, operation & troubleshooting procedures are described as below:
1. First Time Start-up:
When the system started up for First Time it will be needed to define the UID of the Equipment which can be set remotely,
locally by key pad on device & by SMS send to the mobile No. which inserted in the device sim card holder.
2. Start-up of Device:
When power up the Device it does the self-health checks for GSM/GPRS Network, its Strength and network Name. Based on the scanned network name of inserted SIM card device will select the network intelligently and no network related settings will need to be done. During the SCAN of Network it is connected to the GPRS Connection and system gets ready to start 2 Way Communication with Website & Mobile based application.
3. Auto Restore the Network:
During the Network failure usually devices stop the communication & need to reset or restart the device to restore the network, to take care these practical issues device software designed for auto restore of networks & GPRS Connectivity through self-reset retries which are settable from the web application & website.
4. Remote Setting of Parameters:
All the Programing & Settings can be done remotely for connected Inverter & Logics for control application by Mobile/Web Based application. This feature provided to keeping in view ease of onsite device or instrument replacement, it can be done by
unskilled manpower in case of fail if any, same can be programmed remotely by web and mobile application.
5. Remote ON/OFF:
The Device is capable to control the PUMP and any Process equipment by mobile application & website, in case of failure or time out it gives the related error based on the real-time feedback.
6. Remote Reset the Other Electrical Equipment’s if Error:
In case the GPRS/GSM network is healthy & any other equipment signals get disturbed or any failure reported on Mobile application/ website alert in real-time (will be delay according to Standard GPRS Delay in Network). There is an option to reset/resolve the errors automatically or can be handled by Mobile/Web application.
7. Data Storage during the No Network/GPRS/GSM connectivity:
During the non-presence of Network/GPRS/GSm connectivity, device have inbuilt memory chip which have the Storage capacity or minimum 1000 records of various parameters which are being logged in web/cloud based database. Once the Network return the Data will be updated to Web database & clear the Space on memory chip automatically, so no data will be Lost due to Network is down.
8. Ease of Replacement & Maintenance:
The Device is designed to keeping in view that same will be installed at remote sites where most of the service support will be handled from centralized customer care through website or mobile based application.
9. Optional Theft Protection/Relocation Alert by GPS Chip:
There is an optional GPS Chip to track the Location of Device and place of use, to keep tracking the GPS Location there is option to keep it enable/disable the Alert in case of change the Location.

2. An electronic device to control and monitor water pumps as claimed in claim 1 wherein the remote is a device which is capable to control the pump and any process equipment by mobile application and website.
3. An electronic device to control and monitor water pumps as claimed in claim 1 wherein microprocessor communicate through GPRS technology with the centralized server or any mobile device.
4. An electronic device to control and monitor water pumps as claimed in claim 1 wherein the microcontroller retrieve the real time data processing and after calculations and caliberationsnecessary data being transmitted to static IP(Internet Protocol) based cloud server.
5. An electronic device to control and monitor water pumps as claimed in claim 1 wherein the GPRS/GSM/GPS chip facilitates the transmission of real time data to the cloud server and track the location of device and place of use.
6. An electronic device to control and monitor water pumps as claimed in claim 1 wherein LCD/LED display the valuable data in the form of meaningful reports, graphs and bar charts.
