An Embedded Device For Real Time, Remote Monitoring And Controlling Electricity Drawn By Electrical Appliances

Abstract: The embodiments herein provide a system for real time, remote monitoring and controlling electricity drawn by at least one electrical appliance.The system comprises of at least one device which is capable of monitoring and controlling electricity drawn by the electrical appliance connected to it.The device comprises of a signal conditioner to step down main voltage and current drawn by the electrical appliance and to provide galvanic isolation of the device from the main voltage and the current,a microcontroller to calculate and store predefined values from the step down voltage and current.The predefined values are transmitted to a server by Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN) card through internet gateway.The system also provides a relay which enables user to switch ON/OFF electric supply to the electrical appliance remotely through the internet gateway wherein the user logs in to the server to monitor and control the electricity drawn.
