Claims:STATEMENT OF CLAIMS:

We Claim:

1. An enclosed storage unit comprising of a horizontal base divided into two or more drawers and top hinge panel; characterized in that a storage unit with both drawer and hinge mechanism for access to entire area of the storage.

2. The storage unit as claimed in claim 1, wherein full length of drawer unit is slid out and top panel lifted with hinge mechanism simultaneously for easy access to far end of the storage.

3. The storage unit as claimed in claim 1, wherein both drawer and hinge mechanism facilitate reach to the corner end of the storage unit blocked by external elements.

4. The storage unit as claimed in claim 1, wherein the unit is a bed base storage divided into drawers with wheels or other sliding mechanism.

5. The storage unit as claimed in claim 4, wherein top panel of the enclosure is supported with hinge mechanism.

6. The storage unit as claimed in claim 4, wherein the lift up handle supports overall frame of the bed acting as mattress arrester.

7. The storage unit as claimed in claim 1, wherein the unit as industrial or retail display furniture is divided into drawers fixed with roller slides.

8. The storage unit as claimed in claim 7, wherein top panel is affixed with hinge mechanism for access to entire area storage underneath.

, Description:TECHNICAL FIELD

[001] The invention relates to effective use of all areas of storage space beneath the bed for everyday use. The horizontal storage space beneath the bed is divided into different sections as per side and position. Access to all the different sections of the storage unit is not easy especially when the bed is tucked into a corner. The proposed invention comprises of both drawer and hinge mechanism for easy access to the far end side of the bed.
BACKGROUND

[002] The Standard Existing Product and its Layout: The standard existing product either has drawers or gas spring for storage beneath the bed base. The various kinds of drawers either slid out from the side of the bed or at the tail end. The existing products have only one mechanism.

[003] The standard existing products do not provide access to the entire area of the bed base especially at the far end corner. The headboard side of the bed is inaccessible in the existing products.

[004] The storage space beneath the bed placed in the corner blocked by external elements is inaccessible in the standard existing product.

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION:

[005] The object of the invention is to improve the utilization of the storage space beneath the bed by incorporating both drawer and hinge mechanism for easy access to the far end corner of the bed.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:

[006] In one aspect, the present invention describes an enclosed storage unit beneath the bed comprising of a horizontal base divided into two or more drawers guided by wheels or other sliding mechanism and hinge mechanism which acts as a mattress arrester supporting entire frame of the bed.

[007] In another aspect, the invention with both drawer and hinge mechanism provides easy and complete access to the far end corner of the storage unit including when the bed is placed in a corner or along a wall.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION:

[016] The representation of present invention and various features and advantageous details thereof are explained more fully with reference to the non-limiting representations that are illustrated in the accompanying drawings and detailed in the following description. The examples used herein are intended merely to facilitate an understanding of ways in which the present invention may be practiced and to further enable those of skill in the art to practice the representation herein. Accordingly, the examples should not be construed as limiting the scope of the present invention.

[017] The present invention relates to complete use of storage space beneath the bed base from the headboard end to the far end. Referring now to drawings Fig. 1 to Fig. 7 where similar reference characters denote corresponding features consistently throughout the figures shown herein.

[018] Fig. 1 depicts perspective view of the bed base, illustrating all the different elements viz. (1) lower headboard panel, (2) and (3) side panels, barrel nut holding the side boards together and (4) the mattress panel.

[019] Fig. 2 illustrates drawer mechanism. For purpose of description and ease of reference the drawer (9) is slid out and the storage at the tail end of the bed is accessible as demonstrated herein.

[020] Now referring to Fig. 3, use of both drawer and hinge mechanism is demonstrated with one drawer (9) slid out and frame of the bed pulled up using gas lift mechanism (6) for easy and complete access to the other half of the drawer. The mattress panel (4) is lifted using the gas lift mechanism (6). The headboard side storage is accessible in the present invention using both drawer and hinge mechanism. The metal structure (7) acts as a mattress arrester and adds support to the over all frame of the bed. The drawer (9) is locked using a magnetic latch (8).

[021] Fig. 4 depicts the complete use case of the invention highlighting the drawer assembly guided by wheels (10) which takes care of the drawer alignment issues if any.

[022] Referring to Fig.5, which depicts the exploded view of the invention. Illustrating that complete length of the drawer (9) fits inside the outer box of the bed base and the gas lift mechanism (6) attached to the enclosed storage unit, along with placement of guiding wheels (10).

[023] Fig. 6 and Fig. 7 show perspective and side view of the drawer assembly respectively illustrating the locking and sliding mechanism of the present invention; wherein back panel of the drawer consist of metal plates (11) one on each side acting as locking mechanism to prevent the drawer from sliding out all the way. Metal plates ensure drawer halts mid-way. Metal plates in the front (12) are to keep drawer in place in closed condition with magnetic latch (8). The drawer is guided either by wheels (10) for ease in sliding in a straight line.

[024] The implementations of the present subject matter offer the user easy and complete access to the far end corner of the bed storage even if the bed is placed in a corner or against a wall. All the sections of bed base storage are utilized and accessible. The drawer mechanism is slid out in a straight line and the gas lift mechanism balances the weight of the entire frame acting as mattress arrester. The mechanisms are used simultaneously for access to storage from the headboard end to the tail end of the bed.
