Abstract: The present invention relates to an evaporative air cooler without louvers, wherein said evaporative air cooler is having hidden fan or blower. More particularly, the present invention relates to an air cooler that does not possess louvers.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION:
[001] The present invention relates to an evaporative air cooler without louvers, wherein said evaporative air cooler is having hidden fan or blower. More particularly, the present invention relates to an air cooler that does not possess louvers.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
[002] Traditionally, air coolers have visible rotating fan blade or blower for air circulation with louvers in the front for air deflection. These fan blades or blower fitted in the front for air circulation, and this blade being visible and easily accessible from the front grill, there is a possible safety concern while a user (mainly children) tries to insert their hand or finger inside the grill. Apart from this, in due course of time, dust accumulates over the louvers, which becomes difficult to clean at times.
[003] Such an air cooler is disclosed in US5192464A. Said invention relates to an evaporative cooler having a direct drive fan include mutual adjustment of motor speed and fan blade pitch, a simplified, clog resistant water distribution system, a fan shroud creating minimal air flow noise, and a fouling sensor in the water supply. An adjustable variable frequency controller determines motor speed, which complements selected fan blade pitch to operate the fan at a desired speed consistent with avoiding resonance and vibration. The fan shroud has a canted top surface and rounded corners to minimize air flow disturbance. A sensor monitors the water supply for excessive mineral fouling and activates a drain valve if a present threshold is encountered. A refill valve enables resupply with fresh, unfouled water.
[004] Such an air cooler is described in US4977756A. Said invention relates to A highly efficient, multi-stage evaporative air cooler for either residential or commercial applications comprises an internal air pathway traversing an evaporative pad more than once. The cooler comprises an upright free-standing cabinet having an air inlet and a
frontal surface through which cooled air is discharged. A rigid cage disposed internally within the cabinet comprises a rigid front plate and a separator plate which divides the cage into separate compartments. The periphery of the cage is completed by a pad support mesh, comprising a grid-like wire wall extending around and between the front plate edges and about the separator plate. An absorbent evaporative pad surrounding the cage adjoins and is supported by the pad support mesh. An internal annular boundary volume defined between the cage and the interior walls of the cabinet establishes fluid flow communication between the separate cage compartments. A fan and a blower motor assembly are secured to the separator plate within the cage. The air path traverses the evaporative media pad twice. Air sucked through the top of the cabinet enters the first cage compartment and cools the motor therewith. Air is drawn out of this upper cage compartment through the evaporative media and the cage walls into the boundary annulus. Air is drawn through the evaporative pad into the second cage compartment, and it is forced outwardly through the fan.
[005] Such an air cooler is disclosed in US5715698A. Said invention relates to An evaporative air cooler (10) employs a design in which admitted air flows over and along the surface of a wicking material (14) rather than through the wicking material (14) and, in the process, achieves a greater relative cooling ability thereby. The evaporative air cooler (10) has the primary components of a cooling chamber (12), the wicking material (14), a fan assembly (16), and, in the preferred embodiment, a feedback duct (18). The cooling chamber (12) includes a container portion (20) having an air outlet (40) in one end wall (36) thereof, and a cover portion (22) having an air inlet (44). The wicking material (14), which is towel-like in form, is draped upon the interior surfaces (56, 60, 62) of the container portion (20), with an opening (64) in the wicking material (14) cut so as to correspond to the location of the air outlet (40) and to allow an unimpeded passage of air therethrough. The lower portion of the wicking material (14) is immersed in water (66) reservoired in the bottom (32) of the container portion (20). Operation of the fan assembly (16) causes ambient air (68) to be drawn through the air inlet (44) and into the cooling chamber interior (28), the air (68) being cooled by equilibrating evaporative processes at
the surfaces of the wicking material (14). The cooled air (72) is expelled by the fan assembly (16) through the air outlet (40) whereupon a small percentage of the cooled air (72) is recycled back to the air inlet (44) by the feedback duct (18) to further enhance the cooling ability of the evaporative air cooler (10).

[007] The prior art available may possess safety hazards to the user; are complicated to use and difficult to clean.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION:
[008] Object of invention is to develop an evaporative air cooler in which fan/blower is placed in such a way that it is not visible or accessible to user (mainly for children).
[009] Another object of invention is to develop louver free construction of front facia which is very easy to clean.
[010] Yet another object of invention is to develop a product which gives cool air with lower noise.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
[Oil] Considering the above limitations, the invention is an evaporative air cooler which has a hidden fan or a blower and is not accessible to the user for safety reasons. At the same time, the new invention does not have louvers for ease of cleaning and enhanced aesthetics.
[012] The proposed invention involves a new evaporative air cooler concept where blower is placed inside of cooler, and user cannot access and rotating mechanical part during operation.
[013] The current available evaporative air coolers could be a safety hazard in case a user tries to access the fan blade or the blower through his hand / fingers during operation.
[014] On the other hand, the new invention takes care of the above concern by providing the hidden Blower or Fan assembled inside the cooler and not visible and accessible to the user.
[015] Existing evaporative air coolers have louvers which are difficult to clean over a period of time. The invention takes care of this by its revolutionary design of no louvers at all.
[016] The Proposed Invention uses direct evaporative cooling principle to lower the temperature and increase the humidity of air by using latent heat of evaporation, changing liquid water to water vapour. In this process warm dry air is changed to cool moist air.
[017] The Evaporative air cooler consist of the Fan Motor, Fan Blade/Blower, Water Pump, Control PCB, Swing Motor, Water tank, Cooling pad and other Plastic or Metal Housing parts.
[018] Unlike the conventional evaporative air cooler, where the Fan or the Blower is visible and at times accessible to the user, the proposed invention works on a principle where the Fan/Blower is placed inside the housing and is not visible or accessible to the user.
[019] This fan/blower withdraws cool air through a wetted cooling media (Honeycomb or Wood wool) and forces the cool air through a restricted section (similar to the venturi effect) designed inside the housing.
[020] The cool air passing through this restricted section is delivered to the end user through a narrow opening on the front facia of the unit. As a result, the product is louver free with no fan / blower visible or accessible to the user
[021] The upper section of the product consists of electric fan motor to rotate fan/blower and draw air through cooling pad, additionally this section is synchronous motor assisted to facilitate oscillation and deliver air across a broader area.
[022] The lower half section consists of a water tank which houses water, this water is circulated through electric pump and sprayed on cooling media, the water drip down on pad and continually keep the pad saturated, any excess water that drips out from the bottom of the pad is collected in the tank and recirculated again with the use of the pump.
[023] The present invention possess the following advantages:
1. Safety - As rotating fan/blower is placed in such a way that it is not visible or accessible to user (mainly for children) so proposed invention is safer than existing conventional evaporative air cooler.
2. Easy to Clean - Louver free construction of front facia is very easy to clean.
3. Low Noise - Product is designed in such a way to deliver cool air with lower noise.
4. Improved aesthetics and structure
