The invention relates to a clutch driven disc device comprises a hub (14), an annular spring plate (26) an annular disc means (16), a plurality of drive springs (18), and an annular disc (30). The hub has an axis (12) of rotation. The annular spring plate (26) rotatably is fixed to the hub (14). The annular disc means (16) is mounted concentric with the axis (12) rotation for rotation relative to the spring plate (26). The plurality of drive springs (18) is operably disposed between the spring plate (26) and the disc means (16). The disc means (16) has a reinforcing plate (31) with spring pockets (33) which receive the drive springs (18). The reinforcing plate (31) has oppositely facing faces (36,38). The annular disc (30) has a friction element (34) fixed thereto and also has a plurality of attachment apertures (43) passing therethrough. A weld bead (44) is disposed in each of the attachment apertures (42) and fixes the annular disc (30) to one of the reinforcing plate faces (36,38).
