This invention relates to an improved dipstick guide extended and dipped into engine oil inside the lube oil sump and is not open directly to the crankcase gases wherein breather system is modified by increasing the flow area for blow-by gases thereby reducing the crankcase pressures.
FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention relates to an improved dipstick guide to prevent oil splashes & visibility of blow-by gases from the dipstick guide opening upon removal of dipstick from the dipstick guide.
PRIOR ART
Blow-by is the amount of combusted & non-combusted fuel-air mixture flowing per unit time between the piston & cylinder wall into the crankcase. Blow-by gases reach the rocket cover thru the push rod passages and get relieved to the atmosphere thru a breather tube. When these blow-by gases do not get relived properly due to some restrictions, the crankcase pressure rises gradually which leads to oil splashing out of the dipstick guide when dipstick is removed. Moreover, higher crankcase pressures also results in oil leakages from the crankshaft front 85 rear oil seals.
Existing design of dipstick guide causes heavy oil splashes since it is directly open to the crankcase gases.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
The primary object of the present invention is to provide an improved dipstick guide which eliminates oil splashes from the dipstick guide 85 obviates the customer dissatisfaction.
Another object of the present invention is to reduce the crankcase pressures by modifying the existing breather system by increasing the flow area for the blow-by gases.
Further object of the present invention is to provide an improved dipstick guide which is cost effective.
STATEMENT OF INVENTION
According to this invention, there is provided an improved dipstick guide extended and dipped into engine oil inside the lube oil sump and is not open directly to the crankcase gases wherein breather system is modified by increasing the flow area for blow-by gases thereby reducing the crankcase pressures.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
Further objects and advantages of this invention will be more apparent from the ensuing description when read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings and wherein:
Fig. 1 shows: known art.
Fig. 2 shows: present invention
DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH REFERENCE TO THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS:
The present invention discloses an improved dipstick guide wherein the dipstick guide is extended & dipped into the engine oil inside
the lube oil sump & is not open directly to the crankcase gases. The breather system is also modified by increasing the flow area for blow-by gases thereby reducing the crankcase pressures. Thus, there will be no oil splashes from the dipstick guide and blow-by gases whenever the dipstick is removed from the dipstick guide.
In the existing fitment layout as shown in fig. 1, after the dipstick guide is fitted in the block, the opening at the bottom of the dipstick guide is directly exposed to the crankcase gases. Since, the current breather system was also not relieving the crankcase gases effectively, oil starts splashing out of the dipstick guide opening along with the blow-by gases as soon as dipstick is removed.
Now reference may be made to fig. 2, wherein the dipstick guide is extended & dipped into the engine oil inside the lube oil sump. Thus, the opening at the bottom of the dipstick guide is immersed inside the lube oil thereby preventing it from direct exposure to the crankcase gases. This layout completely eliminates the oil splashes from the opening of the dipstick guide whenever the dipstick is removed & also prevents the oil mist that escapes along with the blow-by gases thru the dipstick guide.
The current breather system is also modified by increasing the flow area for blow-by gases, thereby reducing the crankcase pressure considerably. The present invention does not lead to any oil splashes even under extreme operating conditions.
It is to be noted that the present invention is susceptible to modifications, adaptations and changes by those skilled in the art. Such variant embodiments employing the concepts and features of this invention are intended to be within the scope of the present invention, which is further set forth under the following claims:-
WE CLAIM;
1. An improved dipstick guide extended and dipped into engine oil inside the lube oil sump and is not open directly to the crankcase gases wherein breather system is modified by increasing the flow area for blow-by gases thereby reducing the crankcase pressures.
2. An improved dipstick guide as claimed in claim 1, which eliminates oil splashes from the opening of the dipstick guide whenever the dipstick is removed & also prevents the oil mist that escapes along with blow-by gases thru the dipstick guide.
3. An improved dipstick guide substantially as herein described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
