FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to spinning preparatory machines, more particularly sliver drawing machine having an improved holding arrangement for securing the upper drafting rollers.
According to the invention, the holding arrangement is a retaining element provided to hold the upper drafting roller from its both ends, during the working and non-working condition of a sliver drawing machine.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Generally the spinning preparatory machine such as sliver drawing machine has an object of doubling and drafting the plurality of slivers fed and to provide the specific density sliver in delivery.
A creel arrangement is provided in the feeding zone for feeding slivers from the plurality of feed sliver cans arranged to feed the slivers to the drafting unit of the drawing machine. In drafting zone, a drafting arrangement is arranged downstream of the feeding zone and the material supplied in the form of slivers are processed by the drafting arrangement and delivered in the form of single sliver and deposited into the sliver cans arranged underneath a coiler arrangement.
The drafting unit of drawing machines are provided with set of bottom and upper drafting rollers.
The bottom drafting rollers are of steel rollers, both ends supported by bearings and brackets, which are connected to each other through gear train, so as to get prescribed drive ratio between each of them. The upper drafting rollers are rubber covered and both ends are supported by end bushes. The both ends of upper drafting rollers along with end bushes are secured in holding plates. The holding plates acts as a leaf spring, which are flexible in nature.
Irrespective of working and non-working condition of the machine, the upper drafting rollers are advantageously held on the loading elements by means of flexible holding plates, wherein a slider secures the upper drafting rollers into the guides of the holding plates. The flexible holding plates are having longitudinal guide slots to locate the upper roller end bush pin in it and movably arranged precisely within the guide slots. Here the flexibility of the holding plate provides yielding nature, which allows to placing or withdrawing of upper rollers through the guide slots.
A slider is a locking arrangement arranged to reciprocate parallel along with the axis of flexible holding plates so as to lock or unlock the guide of holding plates, enable to secure / withdraw the upper drafting roller easily in pressure arm. The flexibility of the holding plates can be varied by reciprocally adjusting the slider up and down. Once the upper rollers are being placed through the guide slots, the slider which is to be moved downward to lock the upper roller along with flexible holding plates in its position firmly.
The both sides of upper drafting rollers are weighed by means of loading elements, which are arranged in the pressure arms. One pressure arm applies the pressure through load element on one side of the upper roll and the another pressure arm does so on the other side. Both pressure arms are firmly linked to each other and they swing commonly about one pivoting axis, so that pressure arms can be lifted up / down by a handle. For instance during new / broken sliver joining the upper drafting rollers along with pressure arms are lifted about the pivoting axis to a position referred as non-working condition of machine. Once completion of sliver joining, the pressure arms are turned to a position referred as working condition of the machine.
The pressure arms are to be interlocked by means of an interlocking apparatus installed at the drawing unit base frame, thereby the pressure arms are brought into force upon the upper drafting rollers.
During prolonged working of machine, the entire upper roller assembly become very hot, it is an usual practice done by an operator that exchanging the upper rollers for every shift and while attending roller lapping issues. And while trying to exchange the upper rollers by unlocking the sliders, due to yielding nature of the holding plates, which ejects the upper rollers and they fall off from its position. To prevent the falling of upper rollers, which are to be held by hands and also it could not be done by bare hands, there is a need to wait for sometime.
This prior art systems are inferior, affects the performance, comfort, user friendliness which are disadvantageous.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
According to the illustrated figure 1 of the known art, flexible holding plates (105a, 105b) are used in the sliver drawing machine.
The holder arrangement (104) along with upper roller assembly (101) of a sliver drawing machine is also shown in the figure 1. The upper roller assembly (101) comprises a roller shaft (102) supported on both sides with end bushes (103a, 103b), each having a pin (not shown) for securing both ends of the upper roller (101) through the flexible holding plates (105a, 105b). The holder arrangement (104) comprises holding plates (105a, 105b) and sliders (106a, 106b). The holder arrangement (104) is mounted with loading elements (107a, 107b). The two loading elements (107a, 107b) per upper roller (101) on both sides are arranged to support the upper roller (101) in the pressure arms (not shown).
Through the reciprocal adjustment of the sliders (106a, 106b), the rigidity of the holding plates (105a, 105b) can be varied. The holding plates act as a spring plate, due to this spring nature, holding plates (105a, 105b) are tending to deviate from its upright position (i.e., turn away from upright position). When the holding plates (105a, 105b) are in deviated condition, upper roller is mounted through the holding plate guide slot (108). Once the upper roller assembly (101) is mounted, the sliders (106a, 106b) are moved downward to lock the holding plates (105a, 105b) to upright position called as locked condition. The holding plates (105a, 105b) are having a longitudinal guide slot (108), so that the upper rollers (101) are movably arranged within the holding plates (105a, 105b).
While doing the operations like attending the broken sliver joining, roller lapping, etc., the exchanging of upper rollers (101) is an usual practice done by an operator. Due to prolonged running of machine, shaft (102) and end bushes (103a, 103b) are become very hot and exchanging could not be done in bare hands. And when these sliders (106a, 106b) are changed to unlocking condition, due to inbuilt spring nature, the holding plates (105a, 105b) are deviated from its upright position causes accidental falling of upper rollers from its position.
According to illustrated figure 2 of this invention, holder arrangement (4) along with upper roller assembly (1) of a sliver drawing machine is shown. The upper roller assembly (1) comprises a roller shaft (2) supported on both sides with end bushes (3a, 3b), each of having a pin (not shown) for securing at both ends of the upper roller (1) through the non-flexible holding plates (5a, 5b). These holding plates (5a, 5b) are fixed along with the sliders (6a, 6b) at the loading elements (7a, 7b), provided at the both ends. The two loading elements (7a, 7b) per upper roller (1) on both sides are arranged to support the upper roller (1) in the pressure arms (not shown).
According to the illustrated figure 2, 3 and 4 of the invention, the holder arrangement (4) comprising, non-flexible holding plates (5a, 5b) and sliders (6a, 6b). The holding plates (5a, 5b) along with sliders (6a, 6b) are rigidly mounted in the loading elements (7a, 7b). The holding plate (5a, 5b) is having a longitudinal guide slot (8) along with an lateral opening (9), in order to ease the mounting and demounting the upper rollers (1). The lateral opening (9) extends up to the longitudinal guide slot (8), so that the entry of the end bush pins (10) on both sides of upper roller assembly (1) is carried out through this lateral opening (9) and finally placed in the longitudinal guide slot (8). After loading of the upper roller (1), the sliders (6a, 6b) are assigned to lock the upper rollers (1) in the predetermined position, in order to avoid accidental falling or jumping of upper rollers explained in known art. Also as per this invention, both ends of the upper roller end bushes (3a, 3b) are attached with handle (11) made of non-metallic thermal insulator, in order to avoid heat while handling it.
As per this invention, holder arrangement (4) for sliver drawing machine has many benefits such as simple in construction, ease of operation, can be equipped to existing machines, no burning of hands, good comfortness, better performance and user friendliness.
With the advantageous feature of stable upper roller holder arrangement (4) with an opening (8, 9), the exchanging of upper rollers can be done easily. Also this feature prevents the accidental falling of upper rollers (1) even when the sliders (6a, 6b) are in unlocked condition.
