The following specification describes the nature of the invention.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION
Present Invention relates to make clear and transparent hard capsules from water-soluble cellulose derivates of low viscosity grade.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Hard capsules made from water-soluble cellulose derivatives such as HPMC are disclosed in EP 1044682, entitled, "PROCESS FOR PRODUCING HARD CAPSULE". The said patent disclosed the hard capsules manufacturing process comprising the steps of dispersing water cellulose derivatives in hot water followed by cooling the dispersion to effect the dissolution of the water soluble cellulose derivatives in the water, further adding and dissolving the gelling agent in the water soluble cellulose derivatives solution to give a capsule preparing solution, followed by dipping capsule-forming pin into the solution at a predetermined temperature, further withdrawing the pin and inducing gelatin of the capsule preparing solution adhering to the pin.
The capsules manufactured by the above process however look Yellowish. This is due to the source of wood used and the process followed during manufacturing of cellulose derivative and its subsequent substitutions. The transparent or colored capsules produced do not look bright and looks dull in shade.
Therefore the inventors of the present invention proposed an improved process in order to overcome the drawbacks and disadvantage of the prior arts.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The object of the present invention aims at developing an improved process for manufacturing clear transparent and / or bright white or colored capsules, less yellow tinge capsules.

The new innovative process comprises the steps of dispersing the water soluble cellulose derivatives of low viscosity grade in the hot water followed by cooling the said dispersion to effect the dissolution by the water soluble cellulose derivatives of low viscosity grade followed by adding small quantity of hydrogen peroxide and holding for 2 to 8 hours under constant stirring. Followed by addition of appropriate quantity of sodium metabisulphite to the above solution to neutralize the hydrogen peroxide completely leaving clear transparent solution followed by addition of gelling agent/ gelling aids and appropriate quantity of coloring agents / opecifying agent to get dipping solution of desired viscosity and shade. It is observed that if this process is not followed the color and shade of capsules is dull and not bright.
Improvement lies in addition of hydrogen peroxide & allowing resetting for 2 to 8 hours preferably 2 to 3 hours and then neutralizing with solution metabisulphite. The clear solution formed helps in giving clear capsules. Addition of coloring agents / opecifying agents results in to bright color shades eliminating the dull shade problem.
