Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved process for the preparation of Rivaroxaban of formula (I) in high yield and purity. More particularly the present invention is directed to an improved and greener process for preparation of Rivaroxaban employing isolated compound of formula (II) in high yield which substantially eliminates potential impurities.
