This invention relates to an improved spare tire screw of vehicle comprising of a coupler connected to spare tire screw, wherein the coupler is provided at the opening end of said screw. The invention is associated with the following advantages: - 1. Ensures proper Tightening and easy opening (especially for Female &, Aged) 2. Ease of Opening in overinflated condition 3. Specification

FIELD OF INVENTION
This invention relates to an improved spare tire screw of vehicle.
BACKGROUND/PRIOR ART

In conventional spare tire screw (as shown in fig. 1), there is no provision for
opening/closing the screw using a tool of tool kit. Improper tightening of the
screw can result in the ratting of the spare tire, especially when the spare tire '
is vertically mounted. Also in case of Female/Aged customers, the opening of
the screw is difficult with hand. Again, in case of Over-inflated/heated tire the
opening of screw is difficult with hand. Thus, it requires more effort to unscrew
the spare tire.
Now, reference may be made to the following prior arts:-

JP 10059223:- A fastening structure is formed out of a bolt head part 18, a
screw stem part 19, and of a rotation operating part 23 provided with a groove
part in a U shape in cross section to which the intermediate portion of the
handle part 21 of a wheel wrench 20 can be inserted, by rotating the wheel
wrench 20 with the intermediate portion of the handle part 21 of the wheel
wrench 20 inserted into the groove part of the rotation operating part 23, and
the bolt head part 18 and the screw stem part 19 are thereby rotated, so that a
spare tire 3 is thereby fastened over to the floor panel 4 of a spare tire housing
chamber 2 so as to be fixed thereto.
Disadvantages; - f
It requires more space for dismantling of the spare tire. Again, more force is I
required for the same. I
JP 09156429A:- This scoop holder is provided with a base body 1 fixed to the
outside of a vehicle body together with a spare tire, a screw shaft 2 connected

to the base body 1, and a holder body 3 connected to the screw shaft 2. The
base body 1 is provided with multiple insertion holes 4a, 4b inserted with fixing I
bolts of the spare tire, and the holder body 3 is provided with a pair of holding
plates lOA, lOB connected on one end edge side openably via hinges 9 and a
screw receiver screwed to the tip section of the screw shaft 2 so that the other
end edge side of a pair of holding plates lOA, lOB holding the shank of a scoop
can be locked or unlocked via a safety lock 21. When the shank of the scoop is
pinched between the holding plates lOA, lOB of the holder body 3 and the
other end edge side of a pair of the holding plates lOA, lOB is locked by the I
safety lock, the scoop can be surely fitted on the spare tire side with no I
possibility of its being dropped or stolen.

Disadvantages: -
- More number of components.
- Repair and maintenance is difficult.
- Occupies more space.
- Cumbersome during operation/dismantling. I
- Expensive. i
- Complex and time consuming assembly.
- Adds to the vehicle weight resulting in reduction in fuel efficiency.

OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION

The primary object of the present invention is to provide an improved spare tire
screw of vehicle which overcomes disadvantages associated with the prior ;
art(s). I
Another object of the present invention is to provide an improved spare tire I
screw of vehicle which is efficient and reliable. I

j Still another object of the present invention is to provide an improved spare tire
I screw of vehicle which is simple in construction.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide an improved spare tire
screw of vehicle which requires less effort to unscrew the spare tire.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
This invention provides an improved spare tire screw of vehicle comprising of a
coupler attached with the spare tire screw, which can be easily opened/closed
by means of a tool such as jack handle and wheel wrench in tool kit. The
coupler is provided at the opening end of the screw.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
Further objects and advantages of this invention will be more apparent from
the ensuing description when read in conjunction with the accompanying
drawings and wherein:

Fig. 2 shows: improved spare tire screw of vehicle of the present invention.

another embodiment of the present invention.
DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH REFERENCE TO THE
ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS;-
The present invention discloses an improved spare tire screw of vehicle. Now,
reference may be made to fig. 2 wherein a coupler (1) is connected to a spare
tire screw (2, 3). The coupler is provided at the opening end of the screw.
As shown in fig. 2, the coupler comprising of a channel section with a hole on
each of the vertical surfaces opposite to each other. Both the holes are disposed
at the same level. Fig. 2 indicates an exemplary embodiment of the coupler.
However, any other shape of the coupler can be adopted to serve the purpose.
The shape of the coupler is preferably similar to that used in screw jacks. i
Hence the regular tools already provided in the tool kit for operating the jack
can be used to OPEN/CLOSE the spare tire screw.
Said spare tire is mounted on the bracket of vehicle by means of novel screw of
the present invention, wherein the coupler is on the top of the spare tire i.e. at
the opening end of the screw.
The surface of the screw in contact with the bracket may be covered by means
of a rubber pad (as shown in fig. 3) so as to dampen vibration/noise during
movement of vehicle. It also acts as antirust element.

The spare tire screw with coupler is made of material such as Steel, Iron Alloy.
The material of lower part of the screw (3) is essentially required to be metallic.
However, the mounting plate (2) of the screw and coupler (1) can be plastic.
The above materials are given as examples without restricting scope of the
invention to the same. Thus, other materials readily apparent to person skilled
in the art are understood to be within scope of the invention.
The coupler (1) can be manufactured by the method of
moulding/forging/machining/forming. Similarly, the plate (2) can be
manufactured by method of moulding/forging/forming. The lower part (3) of
screw is prepared by the conventional method as provided in the art.
However, the above methods are given as examples without restricting scope of
the invention to the same.
Now, reference may be made to fig. 4, wherein Force (F) is applied to the Wheel
Wrench (5) which results in the opening Moment [M=F x L, wherein L is i
distance between application points of force on wheel wrench (5)] on the
Coupler. Fig. 4 describes the opening procedure. For closing the direction of
Force F is reversed. Jack Handle (4) ensures proper clearance with Tire/Wheel
surface. Since the jack handle (4) and wheel wrench (5) is provided in
automobiles for operation of jack, hence no separate tool needs to be provided
for removal of the spare tire. In case of deflated tires the same set of tools used
for jack operation can be used for removal/fitment of spare tire. I
With the help of the wrench, force required for opening is less as the distance
between the coupler and point of force to open is more. Again, the present
invention provides more grip and over inflated tyre can also be opened easily
with less force.

Further, referring to fig. 5, the coupler can be replaced with bolt head/nut (N)
to serve the same purpose.

It is to be noted that the present invention is susceptible to modifications, ?

adaptations and changes by those skilled in the art. Such variant embodiments {
employing the concepts and features of this invention are intended to be within
the scope of the present invention, which is further set forth under the
following claims :-

WE CLAIM;
1. An improved spare tire screw of vehicle comprising of a coupler
connected to spare tire screw, wherein the coupler is provided at the
opening end of said screw.
2. An improved spare tire screw of vehicle as claimed in claim 1, wherein
the coupler comprising of a channel section with a hole on each of the
vertical surfaces opposite to each other, in which both the holes are
disposed at the same level.
3. An improved spare tire screw of vehicle as claimed in claimi 1 or 2,
wherein the mounting plate of the screw in contact with the bracket may
be covered by means of a rubber pad so as to dampen vibration/noise
during movement of vehicle, which also acts as antirust element.
4. An improved spare tire screw of vehicle as claimed in claim 1 or 3,
wherein the coupler can be substituted by bolt head/nut.
5. An improved spare tire screw of vehicle as claimed in any of the
preceding claims, is associated with the advantages such as herein
described.
6. An improved spare tire screw of vehicle as claimed in any of the |
preceding claims, wherein the spare tire screw is provided between
bracket of vehicle and spare tire.
7. An improved spare tire screw of vehicle as claimed in any of the
preceding claims, wherein tool such as wrench can be used to
open/close the spare tire screw.
8. An improved spare tire screw of vehicle substantially as herein described
with reference to the accompanying drawings.
