An improved system for oiling cold rolled steel coils comprising a reservoir for storing the oil to be applied, pipe lines, pumps with motors, gate valves, a pressure relief valve with an oil return pipe line, an oil pressure gauge, a control panel containing duplex cartridge filters and solenoid control valves, and oil spray header containing a number of non-return type valves which are interlocked with the solenoid control valves through flexible hoses for controlling automatically the flow rate of oil through a number of flat-jet non-return type nozzles in accordance with the speed of movement of the coils through oil jets of the nozzles, the width of the oil jets being adjustable in accordance with the width of the surface of the coil.
