AN IMPROVED TECHNOLOGY FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention in general relates to a composition for correction of defective immune system and in particular to a composition derived from natural and commonly available products, said composition being effective in treatment of HIV/AIDS.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

AIDS/HIV is one of the most dreaded diseases of the 21st Century and spreading at alarming rate all over the world. Approximately 40 million people are currently living with HIV infection, and an estimated 25 million have died from this disease. The scourge of HIV has been particularly devastating in sub-Saharan Africa, but infection rates in other countries remain high. In the United States, approximately 1 million people are currently infected.

HIV stands for the human immunodeficiency virus. It is one of a group of viruses known as retroviruses. After getting into the body, the virus kills or damages cells of the body's immune system. The body tries to keep up by making new cells or trying to contain the virus, but eventually the HIV wins out and progressively destroys the body's ability to fight infections. Hence, HIV renders the body's immune system defective.

AIDS stands for the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. It is caused by HIV and occurs when the virus has destroyed so much of the body's defenses that immune-cell counts fall to critical levels. So we can say that AIDS is the later stage of HIV infection, when the body begins losing its ability to fight infections. Once the CD4 cell count falls low enough, an infected person is said to have AIDS. Sometimes, the diagnosis of AIDS is made because the person has unusual infections or cancers that show how weak the immune system is.

Over the past years, several drugs have become available to fight both the HIV infection and its associated infections and cancers. These drugs are called highly active a nti retroviral therapy (HAART) and have substantially reduced HIV-related complications and deaths. However, there is no cure for HIV/AIDS. Nucleoside or nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs) like Zidovudine, Didansine and Non- nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTIS) are commonly used in combination with NRTIs like Efavirenz, Nevirapine are frequently used for the treatment of AIDS/HIV. However, most of these categories have a narrow therapeutic index and a greater potential for causing harmful side effects. They include decreased levels of red or white blood cells, inflammation of the pancreas, liver toxicity, rash, gastrointestinal problems, elevated cholesterol level, diabetes, abnormal body-fat distribution, and painful nerve damage. In case of pregnant woman, the drugs used in the HAART therapy can cause some damage to the foetus. In brief, the in vogue therapeutic applications are known to have severe side effects apart from being exorbitantly costly, thereby leading to immense pubic dissatisfaction.

Recently, a greater emphasis has been given towards the researches on complementary and alternative therapies that deal with AIDS management. Several studies have been conducted on herbs for their therapeutic property. Ayurveda, a traditional Indian tool has been successfully used for various diseases can also be effective for the treatment of HIV/AIDS.

In brief, various natural products and the very commonly used products have been reported through scientific research to possess some therapeutic properties for treatment of AIDS/HIV. However, obtaining a synergistic composition from natural and commonly available products for treatment of AIDS/HIV in sacrosanct manner is yet to be achieved. The prior art compositions are known to have some deficiency or the other, particularly in respect of substantial curing of the disease.

Accordingly, there is a long felt need to obtain a synergistic composition comprising optimum portions of ingredients derived from natural and commonly available products which can be effectively applied for treatment of AIDS/HIV. The present invention meets the aforesaid long felt need.

All through out the specification including the claims, the words "ayurvedic", "natural products", "extract", "powder", "AIDS", "HIV" are to be interpreted in the broadest sense of the respective terms and includes all similar items in the field known by other terms, as may be clear to persons skilled in the art. Restriction/limitation, if any, referred to in the specification, is solely by way of example and understanding the present invention.

OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION

It is the principal object of the present invention to provide a synergistic composition derived from natural and commonly available products, for treatment of HIV/AIDS in a sacrosanct manner.

It is a further object of the present invention to provide a synergistic composition, that purifies the blood by destroying the poisonous substances in the blood including HIV and enhance the immune system of patients suffering from HIV/AIDS.

It is another object of the present invention to provide a synergistic composition, that produces fresh bone marrow cells and muscles and thereby purifying blood of patients suffering from HIV/AIDS.

It is yet another object of the present invention to provide a synergistic composition for effective treatment of HIV/AIDS in patients, which on application, does not reveal any side effect.

It is a further object of the present invention to provide a synergistic composition, which is available at reasonable cost, in acceptable dosage forms.

It is a further object of the present invention to provide proper treatment to patients suffering from HIV/AIDS for effective correction of immune system within their body from an optimum combination comprising natural and commonly available products with suitable excipients, said combination being adapted to be delivered in acceptable dosage forms.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Accordingly, the present invention provides a composition for correction of defective immune system including optimally effective proportions of suitable ingredients, said ingredients including:

1) Hydrarjuri
2) Alum
3) Mercuric Oxide

In accordance with preferred embodiments of the composition of the present invention:

-said ingredients further include:

1) Soda carbonate
2) Honey
3) Black Salt
4) Alahgiumdecapetalum

-said Alahgiumdecapetalum serves as an extracting medium and said honey acts as a sweetening agent;
-said ingredients are applied in dry powder and/or extract form;

-the proportions by weight in which said ingredients are applied are as follows:

1) Hydrarjuri- 0.63%
2) Alum- 1.25%
3) Mercuric Oxide- 0.317%
4) Soda carbonate- 0.317%
5) Honey- 95.33%
6) Black Salt- 0.63%
7) Alahgiumdecapetalum- 1.58%
-said composition is effective for treatment of HIV/ADIS.

The present invention also provides a method for preparation of a composition for correction of defective immune system, wherein said composition includes optimally effective proportions of suitable ingredients, said ingredients including:

1) Hydrarjuri
2) Alum
3) Mercuric Oxide
4) Soda carbonate
5) Black Salt
6) Alahgiumdecapetalum

wherein said method includes grinding of Mercuric Oxide, Alum, Soda Carbonate, Hydrarjuri and Black Salt for a suitable duration in Alahgiumdecapetalum extract and drying the same, putting the mixture so obtained in a small closed mud pot, mixed with raw salt and burning it for suitable duration so as form a powder for its application.

In accordance with preferred embodiments of the method for preparation of the composition:

-said powder so obtained is mixed with good proportion of honey; -pure ghee and/or butter are added as medium;

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The following describes some preferred embodiments and examples of the present invention, which are purely for the sake of understanding the performance of the invention, and not by way of any sort of limitation.

As stated under the heading "BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION" the conventional drugs for treatment of HIV/AIDS have been the cause of immense public dissatisfaction due to the severe side effects and involvement of high cost. Furthermore, although, various chemical entities have been reported through scientific research for treatment of HIV/AIDS, a synergistic composition comprising of optimum proportions of ingredients derived from various natural and commonly available products in combination with suitable excipients, to provide sacrosanct treatment of defective immune system in patients suffering from HIV/AIDS, was very much lacking. The composition according to the present invention is immaculately effective in treatment of HIV/AIDS, is reasonably cheap and has no side effects. This is exactly what the present invention provides.

The present invention is based on the results deciphered through extensive research and the conclusion therefrom, that poor immune system and extensive fall of CD4 cell count, which is the primary infection fighter can be corrected by a synergistic composition derived from various natural and commonly available products, of course in combination with other excipients in acceptable dosage.

In the above context it is hereby clarified, that simply by way of example and for understanding the present invention and not by way of any limitation, the composition, in accordance with the present invention, has been referred to as being administered to patients in powdered dosage form. It should be understood to persons skilled in the art that the present invention is equally administrate in all other dosage forms such as but not limited to tablets and capsules and will be equally effective on administration in such dosage forms, in achieving the objects of the present invention.

The present invention provides a composition for treatment of patients suffering from HIV/AIDS, derived from effective proportions of suitable ingredients with effective proportions of suitable excipients(s) said ingredients including:

1) Hydrarjuri
2) Alum
3) Mercuric Oxide
4) Soda carbonate
5) Honey
6) Black Salt
7) Alahgiumdecapetalum

Here Alahgiumdecapetalum act as an extracting agent and large quantity of honey is mixed to give a sweet taste. Pure ghee and/or butter can also be used as medium. The ingredients are applied in powdered and/or extract form.

The said composition is applied for a period of twenty-four days in a month. During the course of twenty four days in a month, the patients should avoid tamarind, non-vegetarian food, alcohol and smoking. The composition has to be taken continuously for atleast for six months for better results.

By way of example, for six people, the preferred quantity of each ingredient, that should be applied as prescribed above, shall be as follows:

1) Hydrarjuri (2g)
2) Alum (4g)
3) Mercuric Oxide (lg)
4) Soda carbonate (lg)
5) Honey (50g)
6) Black Salt (2g)

7) Alahgiumdecapetalum (5g) The exemplary proportions by weight in which the ingredients are applied are as follows:

1) Hydrarjuri- 0.63%
2) Alum- 1.25%
3) Mercuric Oxide- 0.317%
4) Soda carbonate- 0.317%
5) Honey- 95.33%
6) Black Salt- 0.63%
7) Alahgiumdecapetalum- 1.58%

The manufacturing method includes grinding the ingredients Mercuric Oxide, Alum, Soda Carbonate, Hydrarjuri and Black Salt for 9 hours in Alahgiumdecapetalum extract and drying the same in sunlight, putting the mixture so obtained in a small closed mud pot, mixed with raw salt and burning it for 10 hours so as form a powder for its application. This powder is mixed in large quantity of honey and administered in to Patients with HIV/AIDS as prescribed. The powder is divided into required number of dosage. Optionally, the actives so extracted are further applied in the method in extract form.

The ingredients of the synergistic composition in accordance with the present invention have been arrived at through a rigorous course of experimentation and analysis. The quality of the individual ingredients incorporated in the composition in accordance with the present invention is also based on extensive research work.

It has been surprisingly deciphered by such experimentation and research that the combination of ingredients, applied in combination with the suitable excipients show the remarkable capacity of correcting defective immune system effectively in patients, suffering from HIV/AIDS. Thus effective treatment of HIV/AIDS is achieved in a technically effective and cost effective manner without exhibition of any severe side effect. This technical advancement and economic significance was hitherto not known or conceived by persons skilled in the art.

The different ingredients combined in effective proportions with other effective excipients yield the following combined effects:

i) purifies blood, ii) enhances the immune system, iii) destroys poisonous substances in blood including HIV, iv) produces fresh bone marrow cells and muscles, v) increases the CD4 cell count.

The effectiveness and uniqueness of the present invention have been exemplified in the following examples and tables, which are by way of understanding only and not by way of any sort of limitation:

Example : A male (age 34), residing in Vellore, Tamilnadu was detected HIV positive in 2004. His CD4 cell count fell down to 225 as per the government test report. After taking the medicine, in accordance with the present invention as an experimental trial, for forty-five days, his CD4 cell count had surprisingly increased to 398.

The example, the test results and the description in general as hereinbefore all unequivocally establish the surprising effect as contemplated hereinbefore.

The present invention has been described with reference to some examples and preferred embodiments, purely for the sake of understanding and not by way of any limitation and the present invention includes all legitimate developments within the scope of what has been described hereinbefore and claimed in the appended claims.

1. A composition for correction of defective immune system including optimally effective proportions of suitable ingredients, said ingredients including:

1) Hydrarjuri
2) Alum
3) Mercuric Oxide

2. The composition for correction of defective immune system, as claimed in claim 1, wherein said ingredients further include:

1) Soda carbonate
2) Honey
3) Black Salt
4) Alahgiumdecapetalum

3. The composition as claimed in claim 2 wherein Alahgiumdecapetalum serves as an extracting medium and said honey acts as a sweetening agent.

4. The composition as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the said ingredients are applied in dry powder and/or extract form.

5. The composition as claimed in claims 1 to 4, wherein the proportions by weight in which said ingredients are applied are as follows:

1) Hydrarjuri- 0.63%
2) Alum- 1.25%
3) Mercuric Oxide- 0.317%
4) Soda carbonate- 0.317%
5) Honey- 95.33%
6) Black Salt- 0.63%
7) Alahgiumdecapetalum- 1.58%

6. The composition as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein said composition is effective for treatment of HIV/AIDS.

7. A method for preparation of a composition for correction of defective immune system, wherein said composition includes optimally effective proportions of suitable ingredients, said ingredients including:

1) Hydrarjuri
2) Alum
3) Mercuric Oxide
4) Soda carbonate
5) Black Salt
6) Alahgiumdecapetalum

wherein said method includes grinding of Mercuric Oxide, Alum, Soda Carbonate, Hydrarjuri and Black Salt for a suitable duration in Alahgiumdecapetalum extract and drying the same, putting the mixture so obtained in a small closed mud pot, mixed with raw salt and burning it for suitable duration so as form a powder for its application.

8. The method as claimed in claim 7 wherein said powder so obtained is mixed with good proportion of honey.

9. The method as claimed in claim 7 wherein pure ghee and/or butter are added as medium.

10. A composition for treatment of HIV/AIDS, substantially as herein described particularly with reference to the foregoing example.
