An Improved Toilet System

Abstract: A toilet system (100) for effective management of body waste is described. The toilet system (100) includes an intermediate chamber (104) having first end and second end bound by inlet valve(103) and outlet valve(105) for waste, operated alternatively by solenoid valve. Upon activation the first piston cylinder (117) uses negative and positive pressure cycle to send jets of water into the pan (101) thereby rinsing the pan(101) and taking the waste along with it. The waste is then sucked into the intermediate chamber (104) through negative pressure created by second piston cylinder (113). The second piston cylinder (113) then creates positive pressure to force the waste into the biotank. The system is optionally provided with a fragrance pot(120) connected to the exhaust pipe which releases fragrance into the exhaust air with each flush. The system is designed to allow manual flushing to work independently.

Specification

AN IMPROVED TOILET SYSTEM
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present subject matter relates to an improved toilet system, and in particular, to a system for effecting operation in dual mode – manual flushing and automated vacuum flushing for preventing blockage in toilet systems.
BACKGROUND
Biotoilets have recently been installed in India railways. In these bio-toilets, the water requirement per flushing is up to 15 litres. And the water doesn't generate enough pressure to discharge the waste from the pots, resulting in a foul smell and blockage of the pot. The bio-toilets have been deployed in Indian trains over four years to 2017, at a cost of Rs 1,305 crore, but these are no better than septic tanks. To resolve this problem bio-vacuum toilets are being planned to be installed. These shall be imported and huge investment by the government. Need has been felt for indigenously designed toilets systems to prevent failure due to obstruction as well as to maintain hygienic toilets in the vehicles.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
To provide a mechanically operable dual mode toilet system for vehicles this provides for manually flushing as well as automatically operated vacuum flush.
To provide cost effective toilet system for vehicles.
To provide a toilet system to solve the problem of obstruction in toilets leading to stinking and unhygienic conditions.
To provide a system for fragrance in toilet linked to the flushing system, for maintaining clean toilet at low cost.
To provide a toilet system for saving water.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
The present subject matter describes a dual toilet system(100), according to an embodiment of the present subject matter. The toilet system comprises of a pan (101), a trap system, a vacuum chamber, pinch valves, at least one pair of pneumatic cylinders, a system of pipes to connect the cylinders to the toilet system and a sensor based control panel. The toilet system has been designed to work as both a conventional flushing system which is manually operated with trap system as well as vacuum and pressure operated flushing system to ensure fail safe management of the toilets for vehicles. The components of the system and their functioning are herein described in detail.
1. Pan (101):-
The pan(101) of the toilet system is connected to a Trap system (102) to prevent ingress of foul air, insects and vermin from the sewers into the building and resist the spread of disease. Watering line for manual flushing and Watering line for vacuum and pressure operated design are separate and their opening in pan(101) is also separate so that manual flushing will be available in every condition (ie. electrical failure and pneumatic failure) also. Water sealing is provided through conventional trap system (102) as barrier between bio toilet tank and toilet area so that bad smell/odour not enter in to the toilet through S- trap or by O- trap based on space available.
2. Pneumatic operated cylinders:-
The toilet system(100) comprises two piston cylinders- first cylinder (117) will suck the water from pipe line(116) and then will send to pan(101) for flushing human waste with the adequate force. Second piston cylinder will create vacuum in intermediate chamber(104) . During this time both pinch valve will be closed. After creation of vacuum human waste the inlet valve (103) will open sucking waste and water into the intermediate chamber (104). After this inlet valve(113) will be closed then air sucked by second piston (113) cylinder will come back in to the intermediate chamber(104) with force, outlet valve(103) will open and all human waste will be forced into the Bio-Digester tank. This unique feature of the design prevents choking and obstruction of the toilet system which is a problem in toilets being used currently.
3. Fragrance Gel pot:-
In an implementation the toilet system shall be connected to a fragrance pot(120). On each push of flush button, message will go to control unit and simultaneously activate the auto fragrance feature. A fragrance pot which works on Bernoulli’s principle is connected through a passage(119) to the exhaust pipe(118). As the exhaust air moves out with pressure, fragrance is released from the fragrance pot into the exhaust air pipe(118). This will maintain a fresh feeling toilet after each flush.
4. Control Panel:-
In one example, the design has pre programmed control penal, which controls the first piston cylinder(117) for flushing and the second piston cylinder(113) for vacuum siphoning of the wastes from the pan(101) into the chamber and then pressurized forcing of the waste into the biodigestor in a coordinated manner. The push of the activator switch will lead to signal for activation of the two piston cylinders. In the first step the first piston cylinder will create suction of water from water pipe line(116). Subsequently, the first piston cylinder will force the water into the pan(101) more with than 240kgf. In parallel, the inlet(103) and outlet valves(105) will close and the second piston cylinder(113) will create negative pressure in the intermediate chamber (104). This will be followed by sequential opening of the inlet valve(103) sucking waste into intermediate chamber(104), closing of the inlet valve(103) , creation of positive pressure in the intermediate chamber(104) and opening of the outlet valve(105) forcing the waste into the Biodigestor tank.
At the same time used exhaust air will pass through a pot(120) filled by fragrance gel. Fragrances go to lavatory area by using Bernoulli’s principle and then we get odour free perfumed toilet only that time when passenger push the button of flush, not every time day & night. This is unique design.
Previously auto janitor was being used which was very not only costly, it was very useless also. It is programmed
This is fail safe design in spite of this any failure like electrical/ pneumatic this design will support manual flushing arrangement also.

The above description exemplifies the toilet system. In an example the inlet and the outlet valves are pinch valves. In another example the negative and positive pressure creation system for creating negative and positive pressure in the intermediate chamber is created through double piston pneumatic cylinders. In another example the controlling unit comprises pneumatic solenoid valve to control the sequence of operations.
The above toilet system contain the water trap system which is not provided in vacuum operated toilets. Additionally when the toilet system is not in operation the inlet and outlet valve remain open. These features allow use of the system in dual mode wherein the manual flushing option is always available independent of the above system.
