FIELD OF INVENTION
This invention relates to an integrated mounting for rear seat
backrest and Isofix anchorage on floor of a vehicle.
PRIOR ART
Individual brackets are provided for Isofix anchorage and Rear seat
backrest increases count of brackets to seven as shown in figure 1.
Currently, Rear seat backrest mounting uses three brackets
attached to the floor. Two are on either side of the backrest and
one is at middle as shown in figure 1. Middle mounting is common
for the LH and RH backrest.
Isofix anchorage is mounted on floor with two brackets on each
side. Between two brackets hook arrangement is provided to fix
child seat. RH and LH part are symmetric structure.
Over all seven brackets are fitted on the floor using seven bolted
mountings. During assembling vehicle, five assemblies are
required to be fitted on the line as mentioned in figure 2. It is time
consuming as each of them is required to be placed and fitted.
Thus currently, Rear seat backrest and Isofix anchorage is
mounted on Rear floor by seven brackets. This leads to increase in
weight and also complexity of the structure. This also requires
more assembling time as five assemblies are required to be fitted.

OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
Primary object of the present invention is to provide an integrated
mounting for rear seat backrest and Isofix anchorage on floor of a
vehicle which is light in weight.
Another object is to provide an integrated mounting for rear seat
backrest and Isofix anchorage on floor of a vehicle which is cost
effective.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide an
integrated mounting for rear seat backrest and Isofix anchorage on
floor of a vehicle which is safer in crash.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide an
integrated mounting for rear seat backrest and Isofix anchorage on
floor of a vehicle which is more durable and efficient.
STATEMENT OF INVENTION
According to this invention, there is provided an integrated
mounting for rear seat backrest and Isofix anchorage of a vehicle
comprising of bracket to mount rear seat backrest integrated to
isofix anchorage mounting on each side.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH
REFERENCE TO THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS:
The present invention discloses an integrated mounting for rear
seat backrest and Isofix anchorage on floor of a vehicle. The
present invention reduces the bracket from seven to four as shown
in the figure 3.
Bracket to mount rear seat backrest is integrated to isofix
anchorage mounting on each side as shown in detail 'D\ Provision
has been made at centre for rear seat backrest mounting in isofix
anchorage mounting bracket as shown in detail *E'. This results in
reduction in number of brackets from seven to four and assembly
parts from five to two as shown in figure 4.
Reference may be made to figure 4 indicating number of
assemblies in new mounting structure.

Further, reference may be made to figure 5 and 6 showing
comparison of bracket count and comparison of assembly count.
By providing an integrated structure to mount Rear seat backrest
and Isofix anchorage, the count of brackets can be reduced to four
and hence structure weight and cost reduced. Also it reduces the
complexity of mounting structure which increases flexibility in
placement. It also reduces number of assembly parts fitted on
assembly line which reduces assembly time compared to existing
mounting structure.
Salient features of the invention over prior art
1) It reduces the overall weight of structure by about 10% as
mounting is integrated on the common brackets.
2) Structure strength is improved as it is integrated. It
performs better in crash and is also durable.
3) Number of assembly reduced from five to two. It reduces
assembly time.
4) It is cost effective as material is reduced assembly time is
also lesser and number of tooling required for
manufacturing is also lesser.
5) Mounting area required on the floor reduced and hence,
flexibility is increased in mounting placement.
6) Reduces stresses in the floor as structure is integrated.
It is to be noted that the present invention is susceptible to
modifications, adaptations and changes by those skilled in the art.
Such variant embodiments employing the concepts and features of
this invention are intended to be within the scope of the present
invention, which is further set forth under the following claims:-

WE CLAIM:
1. An integrated mounting for rear seat backrest and Isofix
anchorage of a vehicle comprising of bracket to mount rear
seat backrest integrated to isofix anchorage mounting on
each side.
2. An integrated mounting for rear seat backrest and Isofix
anchorage as claimed in claim 1, wherein provision is made
at centre for rear seat backrest mounting in isofix anchorage
mounting bracket.
3. An integrated mounting for rear seat backrest and Isofix
anchorage as claimed in claim 1 or 2, which results in
reduction in number of brackets from seven to four and
assembly parts from five to two.
4. An integrated mounting for rear seat backrest and Isofix
anchorage of a vehicle substantially as herein described
with reference to the drawings.
