Abstract: This invention relates to an integrated tractor powered inverter with built in battery charging facility through external AC mains, specially designed integrated inverter unit with AC output facility and several other features such as herein described.
FIELD OF INVENTION
The invention relates to an integrated tractor powered inverter.
PRIOR ART
In India, many of the villages have not been electrified and if they have been, they do have frequent power cuts. It is basically due to India's power infrastructure woefully inadequate to cater to the demand.
Out of 593731 inhabited villages (as per 2001 census), 473136 (almost 80 percent) have been electrified up to March 2008. The remaining villages are to be covered by 2009. But, officially a village is considered to be electrified even if 10% of households have electricity.
Tractors are generally used for various agricultural and commercial applications. Tractors agricultural operations are mainly in rural areas or often at remote places where frequency of availability of electricity is a problem or still the electricity has not reached to the villages.
The present invention is provided as an inbuilt feature on the tractor to customers for whom, availability of electricity is scarce. With this inbuilt system, there will be no effect on the tractor functioning, but the farmers will have an additional resource of AC power.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
The primary objective of the present invention is to propose an integrated tractor powered inverter to enhance the utility spectrum of the tractor and help farmers to use the available power source (tractor battery) as an additional resource of AC power.
Another object of the invention is to propose an integrated tractor powered inverter which is simple in construction and efficient.
Still another object of the invention is to propose an integrated tractor powered inverter to generate electric power for domestic use and save electricity.
STATEMENT OF INVENTION
According to this invention, there is provided an integrated tractor powered inverter with built in battery charging facility through external AC mains, specially designed integrated inverter unit with AC output facility and several other features such as herein described.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWING
Further objects and advantages of this invention will be more apparent from the ensuing description when read in conjunction with the accompanying drawing and wherein:
Fig. 1 shows: exemplary embodiment of Tractor Powered Inverter circuit layout.
Fig. 2 shows: Specially designed AC Output Socket with Red color cap (for visible differentiation) and corresponding Specialised 3 pin Socket with Adapter
DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH REFERENCE TO THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWING;
According to this invention, there is provided an integrated tractor powered inverter (As shown in Figure. 1) comprising of a charging alternator, current tractor Battery & an integrated unit converting DC to AC known as Inverter (with specially set cut-off on DC power to prevent and allow re-cranking of the tractor engine). The Charging alternator generates current to the charging control circuit & the charging control circuit generates a controlled output for charging the Battery. The
integrated inverter is used to convert the reserve battery power from DC to AC so as to run electrical appliances for Domestic applications or anywhere as required.
Main features of the system are as follows:
1. Integrated Power House to the customer for any kind of use - i.e. AC & DC output; both from same tractor.
2. Inbuilt Battery Charger from AC Mains - very useful especially during winters when tractors are not used generally for longer durations and the battery gets discharged automatically and fails to crank the engine. This system will also allow the customer to charge the tractor battery even without starting the engine thus saving on diesel as well as reduction in the noise and pollution.
3. Automatic Low Battery Protection - DC Auto-cut to inverter to retain battery residual voltage enough to crank the engine in next 5-7 days. An Inbuilt protection from battery deep discharge.
4. MCB protection - System prevention from unforeseen incidences. Suitably placed between Inverter system & battery - i.e. in DC circuit. Two way protection - to battery & to inverter system with manual Re-set facility: Safety inbuilt by design.
5. No-Load Auto Shut Down Feature - Automatic Switch-OFF of the System when Not in Use. An Inbuilt safety by design.
In case of No-load or lesser load than a particular wattage, the system does multi retrials for max 2 minutes. After that, ... Auto Switch-OFF the system thus preventing battery power consumption, when either left open by mistake or not in use as well as arrest the possible human errors/ mistakes.
6. Smart Overload Sense & Short Circuit Protection - by Design System
prevention from unforeseen incidences. Two way Short circuit protection:
Replaceable glass fuse in AC circuit 8B Internal DC circuit fuse for battery protection
(Table Removed)
7. Specially designed for Automotive Batteries - Use of current battery source (automobile batteries) to act as a reserve power source for providing AC output thus Ensuring Full utilization of Automotive Battery for 12V DC Output & 220V AC Output. Compatible with batteries ranging from 45AH to 150AH.
8. SEVEN stage Visual LED display & Buzzer Alarm for comfort- An easy guide for comfort & ease.
9. Weather proof- Dust, Heat, Water, Vibration, High ambient temperature and Cold start: Integrated unit with all protections - Ensures safety to product and user.
10. Comes with dual option of AC Output:
a. With Specially designed AC Output socket (a visible differentiator with
Red colour cap) created at the back side of the tractor and extension
board with special corresponding adapter - safety by differentiation in
usage. - "Created as a standard integrated design" - Refer Annexure
Sheet No. 2
b. With Integrated 3 pin plug AC output, inbuilt in Inverter unit itself -
"Created as an optional/ portable unit for existing tractor population"
11. AC Output ON-OFF switch - Additional element of Safety in AC Output circuit - by Design (with an option of replacing it with another MCB to enhance safety parameters).
12. Inbuilt Reverse Current Protection - during house wiring/ lightening time
13. Continuous AC output of 120 W for 3 to 4 hrs, 150W for 2 to 3 hrs and 60W for 6 to 7 hrs.
14. Integrated Multi Purpose Unit - When at home, tractor is for house lightening purpose ... when in field, used for Agri - thus multiplying the tractor utility!!
15. Available in three Output Inverter Mode -
a. Quasi Sine Wave
b. Sine Wave
c. Modified Sine Wave
Thus, the agricultural tractors are equipped with a High Capacity Battery 8B alternator. Battery's primary function is to start the engine and the alternator recharges it. Alternator in the night operation supplies electricity to the electrical fittings on the tractor and runs idle during the day.
In this system, the electricity produced by the Alternator is trapped (in the battery) during tractor running for other applications and later be used by the farmer for lighting house and supplies electricity to other appliances also. It becomes a free of cost movable source of the AC power and can be used anywhere be it at home, on farm or at any other place.
DC supply is currently an option which is already available from the tractors, but the supply of an integrated AC power from tractor systems is the inventive concept of the present invention.
It is to be noted that the present invention is susceptible to modifications, adaptations and changes by those skilled in the art. Such variant embodiments employing the concepts and features of this invention are intended to be within the scope of the present invention, which is further set forth under the following claims:-
WE CLAIM:
