4. DESCRIPTION

Technical Field of Invention

Present invention belongs to the technical field of aquaculture machinery, refer in particular to the mobile /movable feeders in the aquaculture pond.

Background of the Invention

Aquaculture farmers are facing problems in finding skilled people for feeding the Shrimps in an stringent protocol, which is very essential for maintaining the pond health and keep control on the feed wastage and FCR.

Though farmers have automatic feed dispensers that can throw feed based on timers and hydrophones; all of them are fixed at one location of the pond, which lead to crowding at the feed area and side effects of that could lead to poor FCRs and unhealthy pond bottom ,unless checked at each hour by expert supervisors, and the consequences are unpredictable for different stocking densities and biomass especially post partial harvest.

There is no wide data and study available to formulate Standard operating procedures for Autofeeders which would suite different sizes of ponds and different stocking densities and different condition of ponds, water, soil and environmental conditions.

So the inventors identified a need to develop a moving feeder which can be moved in the pond and simply adopt the standard operating procedures of Manual feeding with the advantage of not requiring a skilled feedboy and can also be exploited to experiment more number of feedings per day, which was not practical with feeding by people.

Standard auto feeders available in the markets can only dispense the feed from certain size and only feed can be dispensed. Inventors identified a need to develop a method to dispense feed of all sizes and all applications which are either powder in form or liquid.

Brief Summary of the Invention

To address the issues discussed above in regard to conventional feeders, the present invention is directed to the design and application of a primary module, which is a moving feeder.

According to an aspect of the present invention, the moving feeder comprises of a sturdy frame that have a feed hopper at the top, a feed dispensing mechanism beneath it, and other accessories to stay on floats and keeps moving from bank to bank using a rope and pulley mechanism.

In accordance with the aspect of the present invention, the moving feeder also comprises a motor and gearbox, either fixed below the feeder or on one of the banks, to the pulley and attached to one of the ropes.

In accordance with the aspect of the present invention, the moving feeder will have a plurality of ropes for making sure that the feeder isn’t moving sideways and flip due to winds.

In accordance with the aspect of the present invention, the moving feeder also comprises of a plurality of sensors and a stopper installed in the pond or at a pole near the bank, to detect that feeder has reached the bank.

In accordance with the aspect of the present invention, the moving feeder also comprises of a wireless microcontroller for giving instructions, wherein a user can use a mobile interface to move the feeder to and fro.

In accordance with the aspect of the present invention, the controller of the moving feeder will decide the number of laps the feeder has to make and distribute the feed evenly across its path based on the KGs it has to disburse.

In accordance with the aspect of the present invention, the controller is configured to calibrate the feeder with the length of the path by moving it once across the pond. The moving feeder is provisioned to have the spread just like manual feed which spreads feed only to about 3 to 10m radius circle, unlike a static auto feeder.

In accordance with the aspect of the present invention, the moving feeder is provisioned to have accessories for disbursing powder and liquid application like probiotics, minerals etc apart from all sizes of feed.

In accordance with the aspect of the present invention, the moving feeder further comprises of an image and video capturing device, on the sturdy frame which will enable the user to survey the pond surface and edges through a mobile app, either live or historically recorded images and video.
