PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION:
The following specification particularly describes the nature of this invention and the manner in which it is to be performed:

Field of the Invention:
This invention relates to motors.
Particularly, this invention relates to motors in motor frames with heat exchangers.
Still particularly, this invention relates to an internal adjustable air guide for a motor and motor with an internal adjustable air guide thereof.
Background of the Invention:
A motor comprises a rotor and stator. It may be coupled with a heat exchanger for cooling the motor continuously, thereby preventing it from damage. The rotor is the rotating assembly. The stator is the stationary part of a rotor system. A slip ring is a method of making an electrical connection through a rotating assembly.
There are internal fans which facilitate the rotation of air away from the stator towards the heat exchanger. For this facilitation, an air guide is provided such that there is positive displacement in the desired direction without any backflow towards the stator or motor, thereby avoiding inherent vortex formations.
In high tension motors, length of stator winding connections is highly dependent on workman skills. Making of connections is not an automatic

process; hence there is always a possibility of error in the same. It is widely observed the length of connection varies as much as 50 mm while making the same. Variation in the length of connections results in fitment problem of air guides in the motors. Consequently, there is a need to change the air guide as per the actual length of winding connection. Complete process of making new air guides is time consuming as well expensive.
Such changes could lead to lot of vibration if the continuously changing air guide design is not accurate. In some cases, the air guide was placed after vibration test of motor was done. Hence, there was no guarantee of the anti-vibration ratings of the motor.
Hence, there is a need for an air guide which accommodates for changes in the stator windings size or dimensions.
Objects of the Invention:
An object of the invention is to provide a stable air guide assembly for motors.
Another object of the invention is to provide a vibration - free air guide assembly for motors.
Yet another object of the invention is to provide an adjustable air guide assembly for motors.

Still another object of the invention is to provide an adjustable air guide assembly for motors, which takes care of changes in dimensions / size / geometry of stator windings.
Summary of the Invention:
According to this invention, there is provided an internal adjustable air guide
for a motor, said air guide comprises;
a. an outer assembly comprising an outer ring and a concentric co-axial inner ring connected to each other at an operative front by an anterior annular ring plate; and b.. an inner assembly comprising an outer shell ring adapted to receive said outer ring from its operative back side such that the outer ring ensconces within said outer shell ring in a telescopic manner and an inner shell ring adapted to receive said inner ring from its operative back side such that said inner ring ensconces within said inner shell ring in a telescopic manner wherein, said other shell ring and said inner shell ring are co-centric and connected to each other at an operative back by a posterior annular ring plate,
such that said outer assembly telescopically receives or ejects said inner
assembly, thereby providing variable adjustment for location of said air
guide.
According to another embodiment of this invention, there is provided a motor with an internal adjustable air guide, said motor comprises:

a. an internal fan adjacent stator windings of said motor for cooling said
stator windings;
b. an air guide positioned adjacent said internal fan for guiding air in a
pre-defined direction with respect to said internal fan, characterised in
that, said said air guide comprising;
i. an outer assembly comprising an outer ring and a concentric co-axial inner ring connected to each other at an operative front by an anterior annular ring plate; and ii. an inner assembly comprising an outer shell ring adapted to receive said outer ring from its operative back side such that the outer ring ensconces within said outer shell ring in a telescopic manner and an inner shell ring adapted to receive said inner ring from its operative back side such that said inner ring ensconces within said inner shell ring in a telescopic manner wherein, said other shell ring and said inner shell ring are co-centric and connected to each other at an operative back by a posterior annular ring plate,
such that said outer assembly telescopically receives or ejects said inner assembly, thereby providing variable adjustment for location of said air guide with respect to said internal fan near said stator windings.
Typically, each of said rings is a flat ring.
Typically, said outer shell ring is a dual flat plate ring.

Typically, said inner shell ring is a dual flat plate ring.
Brief Description of the Accompanying Drawings:
Figure 3 illustrates a motor assembly with a heat exchanger, said motor having an air guide of the prior art.
Figure 2 illustrates an isometric view of the air guide of the prior art; and
Figure 3 illustrates a cut-section isometric view of the air guide of the prior art.
The invention will now be described in relation to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 4 illustrates a motor assembly with a heat exchanger, said motor having an air guide in accordance with this invention;
Figure 5 illustrates an isometric view of the air guide; and
Figure 6 illustrates a cut-section isometric view of the air guide.
Detailed Description of the Accompanying Drawings:
Figure 1 illustrates a motor assembly with a heat exchanger, said motor having an air guide of the prior art. Figure 2 illustrates an isometric view of

the air guide of the prior art. Figure 3 illustrates a cut-section isometric view of the air guide of the prior art.
It shows a motor assembly (22), having a stator (21) and rotor (23), with a heat exchanger (24). The heat exchanger is adapted to cool the associated motor. Reference numeral 27 refers to a fan for circulating external air. Reference numeral 29 refers to a fan for circulating internal air for channeling towards the heat exchanger. The dotted arrowed lines depict the intended flow of air which is guided in the angular manner without backflow due to the position of air guides (50). There is a small gap (typically of about 5 mm) maintained between the internal fan (29) and the air guide (50). If the stator dimensions increase, this gap gets filled. In such cases, the air guide will have to be manually placed away which, after the vibration tests are performed, reduces the anti-vibration rating of the motor.
Reference numeral 26 refers to wiring connections.
Many problems were observed as mentioned above in relation to the air guide (50).
The air guide (50) of the prior art is an assembly of two rings; outer ring (52) and inner ring (54) which are concentric and connected with each other at their operative front and back sides.
According to this invention, there is provided an internal adjustable air guide for a motor and motor with an internal adjustable air guide thereof.

Figure 4 illustrates a motor assembly with a heat exchanger, said motor having an air guide (100) in accordance with this invention. Figure 5 illustrates an isometric view of the air guide (100). Figure 6 illustrates a cut-section isometric view of the air guide (100).
In accordance with an embodiment of this invention, there is provided an outer ring (102) and a concentric co-axial inner ring (104) connected to each other at an operative front by an anterior annular ring plate (106). Both the rings (102, 104) are flat rings. There is further provided an outer shell ring (112) adapted to receive said outer ring (102) from its operative back side such that the outer ring (102) ensconces within the outer shell ring (112) in a telescopic manner. The outer shell ring (112) is a dual flat plate ring. There is still further provided an inner shell ring (114) adapted to receive said inner ring (104) from its operative back side such that the inner ring (104) ensconces within the inner shell ring (114) in a telescopic manner. The inner shell ring (114) is a dual flat plate ring. The other shell ring (112) and inner shell ring (114) are connected to each other at an operative back by a posterior annular ring plate (116).
The outer shell ring and inner shell ring along with posterior annular ring plate form an outer assembly which telescopically receives or ejects the inner assembly comprised of inner ring and outer ring along with anterior annular ring plate. Thus, variable adjustment is provided for location of the air guide (100) with respect to the fan (29) near the stator windings (21). Even if these adjustments are done after the vibration tests of the motor, the inherent motor vibrations result in an axial force with respect to the air guide

(100) and are not enough to disengage the ring assembly with its telescopic position with respect to the shell assembly.
By using air guides of new design, outer and inner rings of the air guides can be adjusted as per the requirement at the time of assembly. This design resolves the problem of air guide fitment in the motor. It also overcomes the issue to manufacturing new air guides for motors; hence saves both time and money.
While this detailed description has disclosed certain specific embodiments of the present invention for illustrative purposes, various modifications will be apparent to those skilled in the art which do not constitute departures from the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the following claims, and it is to be distinctly understood that the foregoing descriptive matter is to be interpreted merely as illustrative of the invention and not as a limitation.
