Abstract: ABSTRACT An Ultra Wide Band (UWB) antenna printed on a dielectric slab of uniform thickness having a radiating element and ground plane on the same side, which makes the manufacturing easy and thus an attractive candidate for various applications is proposed. The radiating element and ground plane have smooth curved shapes and being symmetrical about the longitudinal axis which results in a symmetrical radiation pattern. The smooth flaring of the radiator and ground plane with respect to each other results in a flat group delay response with variation less than 1ns. The surface current distribution is stronger along the radiating area which is away from the excitation point of the coplanar wave guide and results in an antenna with minor effects due to the finiteness of the ground plane.
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present disclosure generally relates to antennas and more particularly relates to ultra wideband antennas.
