An Uv Protection Composition Comprising Chicorum And Leucas Plant Extract And Uses Thereof
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a sunscreen composition comprising natural plant derived extracts obtained from Chicorium intybus, and Leucas aspera that provides wide spectrum UV protection. The present disclosure also provides formulations comprising the said composition that are useful for topical application for protection against harmful effects of UV radiation.

Specification
CLIAMS:1. A natural sunscreen composition for broad spectrum protection against UV radiation comprising extract of plant Chicorium intybus, and Leucas aspera.
2. The natural sunscreen composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the w/w ratio of Chicorim intybus to Leucas aspera in said composition is in the range of 9:1-1:4 with the proviso that the w/w ratio of Chicorim intybus to Leucas aspera in said composition is not 3:7.
3. The natural sunscreen composition as claimed in claim 2, wherein the w/w ratio of Chicorim intybus to Leucas aspera in said composition is in the range of 3:2-2:3, preferably 1:1.
4. A formulation for topical cosmetic application comprising a natural sunscreen composition as claimed in claim 1.
5. The formulation as claimed in claim 4, further comprising of suitable carriers, diluents, excipients, and cosmetically suitable additives.
6. The formulation as claimed in claim 4, wherein the w/w ratio of Chicorium intybus extract to Leucas aspera extract in said formulation is in the range of 9:1- 1:4, preferably 3:2-2:3, more preferably 1:1 with the proviso that the w/w ratio of Chicorim intybus to Leucas aspera in said formulation is not 3:7.
7. The formulation as claimed in claim 4, wherein the w/w concentration of Chicorium intybus extract and Leucas aspera extract in said formulation is in the range of 1%-30%, preferably 5%-25%, more preferably 20%.
8. A delivery system comprising a natural sunscreen composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein said delivery system is selected from the group consisting of creams, shampoos, gels, lotions, soaps, oils, sticks, and sprays.
9. A delivery system comprising a formulation as claimed in claim 4, wherein said delivery system is selected from the group consisting of creams, shampoos, gels, lotions, soaps, oils, sticks, and sprays.
