Abstract: The present invention relates to an anti-suicide ceiling device includes, a telescopic rod 1 connected with a ceiling via a hook at first end 9 and second end 10 is connected with a fan 2, a threaded hook 3 passing through an opening formed over the rod 1 to lock the rod in locked/retracted position, a motorized pinion gear 4 is meshed along with hook 3 that rotates the hook 3 in clockwise or anticlockwise direction to lock or unlock the rod 1, a load cell 5 linked with a microcontroller for detecting an applied load over the rod 1 above a threshold value, the microcontroller actuate the pinion that rotates the hook 3 to remove the hook and allow extension of the rod 1 thereby limiting a person from hanging in support of the fan 2.

The present invention relates to an anti-suicide ceiling device which is arranged over a ceiling fan that identifies excessive pressure applied over the fan in order to determine hanging suicide attempt of a person and hence increase length of the rod so that ceiling fan touches to ground surface or reach near the ground surface to prevent hanging attempt and safeguard life of the person.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] According to the World Health Organisation's (WHO) studies and research done by several medical institutes state that depression ranks among the ten leading causes of disability. Depression is a type of mood disorder that affects many people. Clinical signs, such as depression, mental slowness, interest waning, and suicide, might emerge in severe patients. Unipolar depression (endogenous depression hurdle), two-way depressive disorder, dysthymia (depressed neurosis), and physical sickness are among its classifications. Patients with depression, psychosis, and depressive retardation. In modern day to day lifestyle people often gets stressed due to various reasons for example work, competition and any kind of loan competition. Suicide is linked to psychological issues such as depression and genetic variables, as well as life satisfaction, stress, and maladjustment. To manage stress from ordinary life and sustain psychological health on its own, active prevention and intervention are essential, so as to avoid transient suicidal thoughts or crisis.
[0003] Existing suicide prevention devices are either wearables over body part of a person or uses Artificial Intelligence camera to identify self-harm or suicide attempts and notifies to nearby person and generate alerts or some kind of audio suggestions to prevent user, but existing devices are failed to physically prevent user from performing hanging suicide attempt, hence incapable of providing proper safety to user.

[0004] KR101797867B1 discloses about a suicide prevention educational content providing method using a VR device. The present invention is to provide a suicide prevention education image including cognitive behaviour therapy, reality therapy, or activity therapy for a wearer wearing a VR device. The method for providing a content for suicide prevention education using a VR device includes providing a content for suicide prevention education including cognitive behaviour therapy reality therapy, or activity therapy instead of a VR device playing the role of an expert. So it is possible to have a realistic experience.
[0005] US8375466B2 discloses about an article of clothing that can be worn by suicidal inmates and medical patients is provided. In one embodiment, the article of clothing is comprised of a high-strength fabric consisting of an outer layer of tear-proof material, an inner layer of soft material, and a third layer of insulating material between the outer and inner layers that provides warmth and bulk to the fabric. The three layers are joined together with a nylon thread. The article of clothing is further comprised of at least one sleeve section that is removably attached to at least in part to a torso section, wherein the at least one sleeve section detaches from the torso section to prevent a user from injuring or killing himself. In another embodiment, the article of clothing is comprised of a non-woven cellular material with very low tensile strength that cannot effectively be fashioned into a rope or noose.
[0006] Conventionally by way of video counselling or by using equipment that prevent self-damage of a person are used to prevent from suicide cases, however these methods and articles are incapable of eliminating most common suicide attempts such as hanging by rope on ceiling fan.
[0007] In order to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks, there is a need to formulate such type of device that is easily integrated within a fan or alike, such that it restricts a person trying to hang from the ceiling fan and simultaneously

provides notification to near ones and authorized person in order to communicate about the situation.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
[0008] The principal object of the present invention is to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art.
[0009] An object of the present invention is to provide a device that facilitates resistance and eliminates possibility of suicidal actions taken by hanging from the fan, thereby preventing life of a person.
[0010] Another object of the present invention is to safeguard life of suicide attempting people and assist the people to recover from depression and suicide thoughts.
[0011] Yet another object of the present invention is to notify concerned authorities and family members of suicide attempting user/individual to eliminate possible suicide attempts.
[0012] The foregoing and other objects, features, and advantages of the present invention will become readily apparent upon further review of the following detailed description of the preferred embodiment as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0013] The present invention relates to an anti-suicide ceiling device which is arranged over a ceiling fan that identifies excessive pressure applied over the fan in order to determine hanging suicide attempt of a person and hence increase length of the rod so that ceiling fan touches to ground surface or reach near the

ground surface to prevent hanging attempt and safeguard life of the person.
[0014] According to an embodiment of the present invention, an anti-suicide ceiling device includes, a telescopic rod associated with the device, having an upper end and lower end, the upper end of the rod is connected with a ceiling via a hook and lower end is connected with a fan, a threaded hook passing through the rod via an opening formed on the rod, the hook aids in keeping the telescopic rod in locked/retracted position, a motorized pinion gear is meshed along with hook that rotates the hook in clockwise or anticlockwise direction to lock or unlock the rod, a load cell integrated within the rod and linked with a microcontroller, upon detecting an applied load over the rod above a threshold value in case of suicide attempt by a person, the microcontroller sends a signal in to actuate the motorized pinion to rotate the hook causing extension of the rod thereby limiting a person from hanging in support of the fan.
[0015] According to another embodiment of the present invention, the device further comprises a communication module internally linked to the microcontroller and paired to a server pre saved with contact numbers and images of authorized person designated by a user, wherein upon receiving signal from the load cell, the microcontroller actuates the module to send a notification to the pre saved concerned persons, a microphone integrated along with the rod and integrated with speech recognition protocol, wherein the microphone records speech of the user and person in proximity to the rod and upon identifying repeated usage of pre saved words within a memory, the microcontroller actuates the communication module in order to alert the authorized persons, and a camera mounted over the rod and linked to projection unit, the camera gets activated by the controller in case of excessive weight detected to arrange a video call with the concerned person and simultaneously actuates the projection unit to project pre saved images of the person for the user for eliminating chances of hanging of the user from the fan.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0018] The following description includes the preferred best mode of one embodiment of the present invention. It will be clear from this description of the invention that the invention is not limited to these illustrated embodiments but that the invention also includes a variety of modifications and embodiments thereto. Therefore, the present description should be seen as illustrative and not limiting. While the invention is susceptible to various modifications and alternative constructions, it should be understood, that there is no intention to limit the invention to the specific form disclosed, but, on the contrary, the invention is to cover all modifications, alternative constructions, and equivalents falling within the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the claims.

[0021] The present invention relates to an anti-suicide ceiling device is configured to identify hanging suicide attempt over a fan and equipped with means to showcase visual projections of relative people to user who tried suicide attempt to reduce or eliminate mental depression of the user.
[0022] Referring to Figure 1, an isometric view of an anti-suicide ceiling device that comprises a telescopic rod which include multiple tubular members that are nested in each other in descending order i.e. from larger diameter tubular member to smaller diameter tubular member. It is to be noted that, each member is tubular in nature and the member is made of material that are selected from but not limited to, steel, iron, aluminum, tungsten, carbon steel, zinc, or any other combination thereof.
[0023] The telescopic rod 1 has a first 9 and second end 10 i.e. upper end 9 and lower end 10. The upper end 10 of the rod 1 is connected with a ceiling via a hook and lower end 9 is coupled with a ceiling fan 2 i.e. to be more specific a housing of the fan 2. An opening is sculpted on the tubular members of the rod 1 in a way such that the opening provides a lateral slot for a threaded hook 3. The threaded hook 3 passed through the opening in order to engage all the tubular members that recites in the rod 1 that aids in keeping the telescopic rod 1 in locked/retracted position. The hook 3 is engraved with threads and is preferably made of material that are selected from but not limited to, iron, steel, aluminum, zinc, or any other combination thereof.
[0024] In an embodiment, a motorized pinion gear 4 is coupled with the rod 1 i.e. to the outer periphery of the largest tubular member via attachment means that includes but not limited to a bracket, nut and bolts along with clamp. The motorized pinion gear 4 is having a circular wheel like structure carved with teeth's formed over outer periphery of the gear 4. The gear 4 is positioned near the

hook 3 and the teeth of the gear 4 meshed with the threads of the threaded hook 3. The pinion is coupled with shaft of a motor 6 and the shaft is connected the pinion in order to rotate the shaft in clockwise or anticlockwise direction. The motor 6 is selected from but not limited to, Alternating Current (AC) motor or Direct Current (DC) motor.
[0025] A load cell 5 is coupled with upper end 10 of the rod 1 as shown in fig 1. The load cell 5 adapted to measure mechanical force i.e. mainly the weight applied over the rod 1. The load cell 5 is configured to detect the weight applied load over the rod 1 above a threshold value. The load cell 5 is preferably an electronic load cell 5. In one case, the threshold value is 10 Kilogram (kg), if the load cell 5 detects more than 10 Kilogram (kg) load, then the load cell 5 generates a signal to a microcontroller. The microcontroller is embedded on a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and installed in a housing 11 which is coupled with the road as shown in fig 1. The housing 11 creates space for the other components of the present embodiment. The components include but not limited to, the PCB and a communication module.
[0026] The load cell 5 may be a strain gauge load cell 5 and the strain gauge load cell 5 is a type of load cell 5 where a strain gauge assembly is positioned inside the load cell 5 casing to convert the load acting on them into electrical signals. The weight on the load cell 5 is measured by the voltage fluctuation caused in the strain gauge when it undergoes deformation. The microcontroller is selected from but not limited to, Advanced Rise Machine (ARM), Alf and Vegard Rise (AVR), Qualcomm snapdragon, and Mixed Signal Processor (MSP). The microcontroller includes a memory. The memory may be a Random Access Memory (RAM), Read Only Memory (ROM) or both. The memory may include various instructions. The instructions may comprise code from any suitable computer-programming language, including but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Visual Basic, Java, Python, Perl, and JavaScript.

[0027] When the microcontroller receives signal from the load cell 5 (i.e. upon detecting weight applied over rod 1 more than threshold value), the microcontroller activate the motor 6 in order to rotate the pinion in a controlled manner. As the pinion rotates, the pinion translates rotation motion to the hook 3 by meshing with teeth's and removes the hook 3 by translating rotational motion from the opening. As the hook 3 removes from opening and it allows extension of the rod 1 i.e. telescopic members that results in dropping the person attempting hanging from the height and touching to the ground surface to avoid any miss happening, thereby limiting a person from hanging in support of the fan 2. The movement of the pinion takes out the hook 3 from the telescopic rod 1 thereby the tubular members extends the rod 1 length (i.e. extension of the tubular members) and allowing the person trying to hang himself/ herself to touch the floor. Due to gravitational pull of user/person attempting suicide by hanging on the fan 2 gets touched to the floor.
[0028] The communication module internally connected to the microcontroller and paired to a server over a network and the server pre saved with contact numbers and images of authorized person designated by a user. The server may be a cloud based server or a computer or a supercomputer. The pre saved words are preferably selected from but not limited to suicide and depression. The communication module is selected from but not limited to, a Wireless Fidelity (WI-FI) module, Bluetooth module, and a Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) module.
[0029] In one case, the module is the WIFI module and the WIFI module is configured to support Wi-Fi versions that includes but not limited to, 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11c, 802.llg, 802.1 In, 802.11 ac, 802.1 lax, 802.llh, and 802.1 li. In second case, the module is preferably the Bluetooth modem. The module is configured to support Bluetooth versions that includes but not limited to, 4, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.5, 5, 5.1, 5.2 and 6. In third case, the module is a Global system for mobile communications (GSM).

[0030] The microcontroller is configured to transmit notification to the pre-saved concerned persons on their contact numbers over a network via the communication module. A microphone is installed on the rod 1 and integrated with speech recognition protocol, the microphone records speech of the user and person in proximity to the rod 1 and upon identifying repeated usage of pre saved words within a memory, the microcontroller actuates the communication module in order to alert the authorized person.
[0031] When a person in the room uses words such as suicide and depression. The speech synthesizer protocol captures words and frequency of usage of words. If such words are being used frequently, the speech recognition sends an alert signal to the microcontroller and the microcontroller further send a message to the contact numbers of authorized person to notify them about any suicide attempts.
[0032] A camera is mounted over the rod 1 and linked to a projection unit 8, upon receiving signal from the load cell 5, the camera gets actuated by the microcontroller in order to arrange a video call with the concerned person and simultaneously actuates the projection unit 8 in order to project pre saved images of the person for the user to prevent user from attempting a suicide attempt.
[0033] When the rod 1 is in extended state, the camera gets turned on and the communication module arranges a video call with the contact numbers of family members. Also, the projector unit 8 projects the images of family members on the ceiling. This helps the person attempting suicide to reconsider his/ her decision. The list of contact numbers may include the contact numbers of the buyer along with his two family members, an anti-suicide counselling organization, and a police station in the buyer's vicinity.
[0034] In an embodiment, a positioning unit is installed in the housing 11 for and the unit is configured to fetch current location of the user and sends current

location of the user to a concerned authority via the communication module and the positioning unit is preferably a Global Positioning system (GPS) module. The current location helps to the concerned authority to send help to the user to avoid further suicide attempts.
[0035] A rechargeable battery is integrated within the rod 1 that supplies electrical charge to the motorized pinion gear 4, microcontroller, communication module, buzzer and microphone. A buzzer is linked to the microcontroller and the buzzer is fitted within the housing, where upon detecting load above the threshold value, the buzzer gets actuated in order to alert nearby person.
[0036] The rod 1 is affixed with a QR (Quick Response) code that upon scanning via a computing unit, opens a user interface that provides a platform for uploading contact numbers and images of users authorized person and save within the server. The QR code allows other people to save contact numbers in the server.
[0037] Although the field of the invention has been described herein with limited reference to specific embodiments, this description is not meant to be construed in a limiting sense. Various modifications of the disclosed embodiments, as well as alternate embodiments of the invention, will become apparent to persons skilled in the art upon reference to the description of the invention.


Claim:
1) An anti-suicide ceiling device, comprising:
i) a telescopic rod 1 associated with said device, having a first 9 and second end 10, where a first end 9 of said rod 1 is connected with a ceiling via a hook and second end 10 is connected with a fan 2;
ii) a threaded hook 3 passing through said rod 1 via an opening that aids in keeping said telescopic rod 1 in locked/retracted position, wherein a motorized pinion gear 4 is meshed along with hook 3 that rotates said hook 3 in clockwise or anticlockwise direction in order to lock or unlock said rod 1;
iii) a load cell 5 integrated at first end 10 of said rod 1 and linked with a microcontroller, wherein upon detecting an applied load over said rod 1 above a threshold value via said cell 5, said microcontroller sends a signal in order to actuate said motorized pinion that in turn rotates said hook 3 in order to allow extension of said rod 1, thereby limiting a person from hanging in support of said fan 2;
iv) a communication module internally linked to said microcontroller and paired to a server pre saved with contact numbers of concerned persons and images of authorized person designated by a user, wherein upon receiving signal from said load cell 5 due to said load, said microcontroller actuates said module in order to send a notification to said pre saved contact numbers;
v) a microphone mapped along with said rod 1 and integrated with a speech recognition protocol, wherein said microphone records speech of said user and person in proximity to said rod 1 and upon identifying repeated usage of pre saved words within a memory, said microcontroller actuates said communication module in order to alert said authorized persons; and
vi) a camera 7 mounted over said rod 1 and linked to a projection unit 8, wherein upon receiving signal from said load cell 5, said camera 7 gets actuated in order to arrange a video call with said concerned person and

simultaneously actuates said projection unit 8 to project pre saved images of said person for said user in order to force said user to reconsider actions and thereby eliminate chances of hanging of said user from said fan 2.
2) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein said pre saved words are preferably selected from but not limited to suicide and depression.
3) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein a positioning unit 8 is paired with said microcontroller that fetches data about current location of said user and sends to concerned authority via said communication module.
4) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein a buzzer is linked to said microcontroller, where upon detecting load above said threshold value, said buzzer gets actuated in order to alert nearby person.
5) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein said rod 1 is affixed with a QR (Quick Response) code that upon scanning via a computing unit, opens a user interface that provides a platform for uploading contact numbers and images of users authorized person and save within said server.
6) The device as claimed in claim 1, wherein a rechargeable battery is integrated within said rod 1 that supplies electrical energy to said motorized pinion gear 4, microcontroller, communication module, buzzer and microphone.
