Specification

[0001] The present invention relates to anti-theft safety devices. Specifically, the present
5 invention relates to anti-theft device for roller shutters.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] Background description includes information that may be useful in understanding the
present invention. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art
10 or relevant to the presently claimed invention, or that any publication specifically or implicitly
referenced is prior art.
[0003] A roller shutter or coiling door, is a type of door or window shutter consisting of
many horizontal slats (or sometimes bars or web systems) hinged together. In other words, roller
shutters are simply where the door leaf rolls up above the doorway. The door is raised to open it
15 and lowered to close it. On large doors, the action may be motorized. It provides protection
against wind, rain, fire and theft. In shutter form, it is used in front of a window and protects the
window from vandalism and burglary attempts. These are ideal for shops, stores, godowns and
garages.
[0004] Yet, because itself there is the gap in roller shutter with the binding site of outside
20 door body, have very big operating space, caused the rolling door theft proof performance poor.
Though the roller shutters are lockable, these shutters are prone to be broken down by thieves for
some malicious activities. Miscreants generally break the lock of the shop or lift the shutter with
heavy metal rod to enter inside.
[0005] Existing safety devices for roller shutters are in the form of GSM modules which send
25 notification in case shutter is open but in some theft cases the shutter is cut by the miscreants by
the gas cutter. Therefore, in such cases the GSM does not work as it sends notification in case
shutter is opened or closed. Other safety measures commonly used comprise a siren which is
blown in case shutter lock is opened forcefully.
[0006] There is, therefore, a need to develop anti-theft safety devices that have a simple
30 structure which can overcome deficiencies associated with the known arts and can accurately
3
detect when some invades or forcibly attempts to open the roller shutter, and thereby sends a
report to the police as well as the owner.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
5 [0007] An object of the present invention is to provide anti-theft device for roller shutters
which can overcome deficiencies associated with the known arts.
[0008] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide anti-theft device for roller
shutters that has simple structure and gives a signal when some invades or forcibly attempts to
open the roller shutter.
10 [0009] Another object of the present invention is to provide anti-theft device for roller
shutters that can be easily installed with all kinds of the shutters.
[0010] Still another object of the present invention is to provide anti-theft device for roller
shutters that can be easily manufactured and utilizes readily available components.
[0011] The present invention provides anti-theft device for roller shutters which is easy to
15 assemble, easy to install and easy to operate.
[0012] The present invention provides anti-theft device for roller shutters which gives an
audible alarm as well as sends wireless communication to the registered sender in case of
breakage by miscreants.
[0013] The present invention provides anti-theft device for roller shutters which is weather
20 proof.
[0014] The present invention provides anti-theft device for roller shutters which can detect
changes in temperature as well as pressure used to break open the roller shutter.
[0015] The other objects and preferred embodiments and advantages of the present invention
will become more apparent from the following description of the present invention when read in
25 conjunction with the accompanying examples and figures, which are not intended to limit scope
of the present invention in any manner.
