SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
This invention provides anti theft system for automobile, which acts as warning
system to monitor identity of the vehicle, geographical location and change of
location. Said system comprises GPS and GSM modems connected to Electronic
Control Unit (ECU) of the vehicle. The system can communicate with mobile
phone or a laptop or a desk top. Further, the system can also communicate with a
centrally controlled server to collect the data base of vehicle and customer
behaviour from the ECU of vehicle.
Further, there is provision of microprocessor unit between ECU, and GPS and
GSM modems.
GPS receiver captures information regarding time and location in the form of
coordinates, which is processed through a microprocessor unit. The processed
data is forwarded to the GSM module for further communication with the
connected gadget.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS
Further objects and advantages of this invention will be more apparent from the
ensuing description when read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings
and wherein:
Fig. 1 shows: anti-theft system for automobile according to the present invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH REFERENCE TO THE
ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS:
The present invention is directed to anti-theft system for automobile. Said system
comprises mainly the following modules:
1. ECU - The system processes and controls the entire electronic signals
according to the input from the connected sensors or accessories.
2. GPS Modem - The system is used to locate the geographical location and the
network time of the unit with the help of connected satellites.
3. GSM Modem - The system is used to communicate with the user or the
server through GPRS data or by the SMS services.
4. Vehicle locking system with code transmitters.
Now, reference may be made to fig. 1, wherein the system is provided in the form
of data communicator mounted below the instrument cluster. In the system,
electronic control unit (1) is connected with global positioning system (3) and
wireless communication unit (5) through microprocessor unit (2).
The GPS unit and communication unit is provided with respective antenna (4 &
6). Further, the ECU is having provisions for power backup (P). Again, a
communication port (A) is provided for two way communication i.e. vehicle and
the module.
Features of the invention
1. It is a single packaged design.
2. The antenna of the GPS & GSM modules are incorporated within the
system.
3. The main power supply is provided from the battery of the vehicle or
moving asset.
4. The secondary power source to the system is provided inside the module,
which gives a backup for at least 6 hours.
5. The system communicates with the connected mobile or through server
based system.
6. The system communicates with the server system through the packet
data service or SMS as per the requirement.
Advantages of the invention
1. No communication breakage between GSM, GPS & processing modules.
2. If the main power is detached, the module still communicates to the
mobile device and the server. The secondary power source which is
inside the module takes the charge for communication power.
3. The time consumption in the assembly line is only for mounting the
single module, and the connecters and wirings to connect different
modules with the elimination of antennas.
Operation of the invention
Stationary condition: The vehicle is idle and no signals are sent to the ecu from
other modules. The microprocessor collects the data from GPS & GSM Units, and
continuously monitors and sends the location data to the server in packets or
SMS.
If the door opened and the thief tried to remove the data communicator (7), the
system signals to the owner that the vehicle is forcefully opened and the system is
disturbed.
The inbuilt power pack provides the signal for the location of the vehicle and the
detached system.
Entry of the key or the remove signals from the key : ECU or the security
system detects the entry or presence of the signal from the key. If the signal
received as determined, ECU processes the following action as the normal
operation.
If the wrong key or forced entry is detected by the system and the ECU blocks
further operations and sends message to the connected device or server.
If the vehicle moved from earlier stopped position after detecting the above
mentioned situations, the system continuously gives the message to the connected
mobile/device and the server for urgent action requirement.
The GSM &s GPS modules can be used for
1. Navigation system,
2. Online data collection for the vehicle behaviour and driving conditions,
3. Online software programme up-gradation for enhancement of the vehicle
performance.
It is to be noted that the present invention is susceptible to modifications,
adaptations and changes by those skilled in the art. Such variant embodiments
employing the concepts and features of this invention are intended tb be within
the scope of the present invention, which is further set forth under the following
