[0022] The present invention relates to apparatus for cutting weeds and herbs that provides uniform cutting of medicinal plants such as herbs with reduced efforts to ensure the best form of herbs (such as fresh, untouched, etc.) for human use.

[0023] Referring to Figure 1, a perspective view of an apparatus for cutting weeds and herbs is illustrated. The apparatus, comprising a wearable body 100, a primary rod 102 attached to the body 100 via a first railing platform 103, multiple secondary rods 104 attached to the body 100 and a second railing platform 105 coupled with the secondary rods 4.

[0024] The wearable body 100 is in the form of a glove that is worn by a user. The body 100 is embodied with a protective layer in inner portion of the body 100 that accommodates the user’s hand. The body 100 is an outer covering designed to enclose the user’s hand irrespective of the size of the hand.

[0025] The body 100 is made of materials such as stainless steel and can use other materials such as plastic, iron, etc. The protective layer is used to provide comfort to the user’s hand by using soft materials such as a thermosetting elastomer. This material provides support to the user’s hand in order to prevent it from any injury caused due to the hard wearable body 100. An elastic grip is also associated with the protective layer that holds the user’s hand in place to appropriately accommodate the hand. The elastic grip provides a sufficient pressure on the hand to prevent any unwanted movement in the user’s hand.

[0026] The primary rod 102 is present within the wearable body 100. The rod 102 is aligned horizontally in the body 100 to provide grip to the user’s hand. The rod 102 is attached to a pair of first railing platforms 103 that enables slidable movement to the primary rod 102. The rod 102 slides on the first railing platform 103 according to the user’s requirement and obtains a desired position that provides sufficient grip to the hand. The position obtained by the rod 102 is secured by a locking pin attached to the rod 102. The position needs to be secured to prevent any movement of the primary rod 102 that can loosen the grip of the user’s hand.

[0027] The primary rod 102 is a rigid rod that withholds the pressure applied by the hand while gripping. The position that is obtained by slidable movement of the rod 102 depends on the size of user’s hand i.e. the rod 102 is adjusted to fit to the user’s hand when accommodated in the wearable body 100.

[0028] The pair of first railing platforms 3 are affixed on both sides of the primary rod 102 to hold the rod 102 at either ends. The platforms 103 are arranged in the wearable body 100 in a longitudinal arrangement so as to support the movement of the rod 102 in upward and downward directions. The platforms 3 are equipped with multiple slots inbuilt on the surface of the platforms 103 that incorporates the locking pin when the primary rod 102 is positioned according to the required grip.

[0029] The multiple secondary rods 104 are positioned on the upper portion of the wearable body 100. The rods 104 are equipped with cutting edges that are utilized for cutting herbs. The cutting edges of the secondary rods 104 are sharp enough to adequately cut the herbs without applying any extra pressure. The user’s hand within the wearable body 100 enables the functioning of the secondary rods 104 by tilting the rods 104 at a right angle for proper cutting.

[0030] The cutting edges are in the form of toothed structures that cuts off the herbs. The edges are adequately sharp in order to support efficient cutting of the herbs. The rods 104 can be made of hard materials such as iron, stainless steel, etc. that do not bend on facing any external force and provides uniform cutting of the herbs.

[0031] The second railing platform 105 is coupled with the secondary rods 104 within the wearable body 100. The platform 105 is utilized to provide slidable movement to the secondary rods 104 when needed. The movement of secondary rods 104 is controlled by multiple locking bars attached to the second railing platform 105. The bars secure the position of the rods 104 while cutting the herbs. The bars are unlocked in order to collectively align the secondary rods 104 together to gather the herbs after cutting.

[0032] A button 106 is associated with the wearable body 100 that is utilized for locking or unlocking of the secondary rods 104 through the locking bars. The button 106 is pressed manually to unlock the secondary rods 104 by withdrawing the locking bars. This withdrawal of the bars provides free movement to the secondary rods 104 on the second railing platform 105. The rods 104 are thus aligned together and the button 106 is released to lock the rods 104 by releasing the bars.

[0033] Another button 107 is associated with the wearable body 100 that is used to provide movement to the secondary rods 104 in upward or downward direction. The button 107 is pressed to extend or retract the secondary rods 104 according to the user’s requirements. The extension and retraction of the rods 104 is carried out via a retractable mechanism.

[0034] The secondary rods 104 are extended to enable cutting as well as collecting the herbs. The wearable body 100 with the secondary rods 104 positioned after retraction can be used for weeding or digging soil. The top portion of the secondary rods 104 when aligned together can form a pointed structure that digs the soil.

[0035] The microcontroller 103 used herein is preferably a Node MCU (microcontroller unit) 103 (ESP8266). ESP8266 Node MCU 103 is equipped with 32 Kb RAM, 80 Kb DRAM and 200 Kb Flash Memory.
