The apparatus 100 may include a frame 102, a switch 104, one or more nozzles 106, a container 108, a knob 110 and an alert unit 112. The frame 102 may be constructed of a flexible material that may be wrapped around and worn on the wrist of the subject.
[0033] In an embodiment, the apparatus 100 can be any or a combination of bracelet, band, watch, bangle and the like. The apparatus 100 is in this example can be watch, a fastener may be used in the watch to couple respective ends together in a friction fit arrangement. The container 108 can be configured on inner portion of the apparatus 100, the container 108 can be adapted to receive and hold the liquid sanitizer such as an alcohol-based gel or other substance that can effectively kill a combination of microorganisms on contact with the hand of the subject, the microorganisms may include any or a combination of virus, bacteria, germs and fungi.
[0034] In another embodiment, the knob 110 as shown in FIG. 1B can be configured on side portion of the frame 102, the knob 110 may include a lid that can be configured to cover or uncover to enable an additional quantity of liquid sanitizer to be added when required. Preferably, the liquid sanitizer can be gel, and other liquids may also be dispensed. The knob 110 can be configured in such a manner that there is no leakage from the frame 102 when not actuated, although other liquids may also be dispensed. In an embodiment, other designs and fastener combinations can also be possible.
[0035] In another embodiment, one or more nozzles 106 can be configured on the frame 102, the one or more nozzles 106 can be adapted to distribute the liquid sanitizer as a spray, foam, or any other distribution patterns. The one or more nozzles 106 can be coupled to the container 108, the one or more nozzles configured to, upon activation, allow dispensation of the liquid sanitizer, from the container 108. The one or more nozzles 106 can be customized based on the configuration on the frame 102.
[0036] In another embodiment, the alert unit 112 can be configured on the frame 102, the alert unit 112 operable to notify the subject to spray the liquid sanitizer at predetermined period of time. In an exemplary embodiment, the alert unit 112 can be an audio alarm device. The apparatus 100 can get user-friendly and easy as the apparatus 100 can automatically remind subject to sanitize the hands. Thus, the apparatus 100 can prove efficient and effective for completion of its intended function as it can be effective for hygiene due to its inbuilt alarm.
[0037] In an implementation, the apparatus 100 can be configured to dispense liquid sanitizer, the apparatus 100 may include the frame 102 adapted to be worn on the wrist of the subject, the container108 can be configured on the frame, the container 108 adapted for storage of liquid sanitizer, one or more nozzles 106 can be configured on the frame 102, the one or more nozzles 106 configured to, upon activation, allow dispensation of the liquid sanitizer, wherein the one or more nozzles 106 can be activated by operation of the switch 104 provided on the frame 102 of the apparatus 100. The alert unit 112 configured on the frame 102, the alert unit 112 operable to trigger an alarm signal at predetermined period of time to decontaminate the hand of the subject, wherein, upon receipt of the alarm signal, the one or more nozzles 106 can be activated by operation of the switch 104 for predetermined period of time, to allow dispensation of the liquid sanitizer, the predetermined period of time determined as being required to decontaminate the hand of the subject.
[0038] For example, the user can be reminded to sanitize the hands when alarm signal is triggered after a fixed interval. The user/subject can press the switch 104 which in turn activates the one or more nozzles 106 to allow the dispensation of the liquid sanitizer. The spray can last for a fraction of second during which the person can fold his/her palm and fingers to receive the droplets of sanitizer. After the spray of liquid is received on to the palm, the user then presses the palms of both hands against each other to spread the liquid sanitizer uniformly over both the hands. The user may rely on the next alarm for further sanitization of hands, alternatively, he/she may activate the switch 104 as and when required.
[0039] Thus, the apparatus 100 can dispense the specified quantity of the liquid effectively to decontaminate the hand of the subject. The apparatus can be highly ergonomic in design as no extra space can be occupied for attaching it to the body. It can require less hardware components, and thereby the apparatus 100 can be cost-effective and can be manufactured easily. The apparatus can further prove efficient and effective for completion of its intended function as it can be effective for hygiene due to its inbuilt alarm.
[0040] FIGs. 2A -2B illustrate schematic view of bracelet type wearable band for dispensing liquid sanitizer, in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0041] Referring to FIG. 2A, the bracelet type wearable band 200 may include many of the same components introduced in FIG.1A to FIG.1B above. Those components that are unchanged in this embodiment retain their original element number and are not reintroduced. The bracelet type wearable band 200 may include switch 104, one or more nozzles 106, container 108, knob 110 and alert unit 112.
[0042] In an embodiment, minimum available volume for filling of sanitizer may be 130 ml or any suitable range based on the configuration of the frame 102, maximum width along the plane of palm of hand can be 90 mm, and maximum width perpendicular to the palm of hand can be 89.5 mm. The design parameter may be altered to optimize the sanitizer volume available and total space occupied.
[0043] The liquid sanitizer can be filled inside the circumferential volume of the bracelet type wearable band, the trigger switch 104 as shown in FIG. 2B, can be provided on the band which triggers the spray of sanitizer towards the palm of person, whenever pressed. Moreover, the alert unit 112 can be provided to remind the person to sanitize the hands at regular intervals of time. The apparatus 100 can be used by any age group users, generally, the people especially the hospital staff require frequent sanitization of his/her hands, thus, the problem of forgetting the essential sanitization activity can be eliminated.
[0044] It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the apparatus 100 of the disclosure may be provided using some or all of the mentioned features and components without departing from the scope of the present disclosure. While various embodiments of the present disclosure have been illustrated and described herein, it will be clear that the disclosure is not limited to these embodiments only.
